That ruffle would be so cute with those tiny little flowers in the center and a flat back pearl in the center of the flower. You could even dress it up more by adding a small narrow piece of lace. Love these ideas great video .

Thanks for the 5 ways to fold the coffee filters. I made mini pockets using cupcake papers. They work just the same but you can buy them with cute designs on them. Especially during the holidays! Love watching your videos!

Such great ideas, thanks so much. After I make my coffee every day, I remove the coffee filters & grounds and use them to coffee dye paper. Much easier than baking, etc. After filter is dry the next day, I brush off the coffee and put in folder. When I get a bunch, I then decorate. I use a doily as stencil & use other stencils & stamps to decorate. I used pink on the last bunch. I can use them instead of doilies in my journals. I also save teabags, strings & squares. Use the squares as tabs on pages, use the strings to make flowers & altered paperclips (will be sharing pictures), and use the teabags to cut & make flowers. Can use the leftover ends on the flowers & paper clips.

Gayle if you didn't want all the pockets you could sew around the curved edge and then fold and sew the rest. Great ideas as usual. Love watching you as you craft. Hope to start making a few journals myself in the near future.

Love these. I’ve been making doily pockets out of coffee filters. Love them. They also tear really cool and leave a great edge when torn. I have also taped them to a piece of printer paper and printed digital things onto the filter before making the different pockets

If you don’t sew down the Center of the ruffle, you can put the ruffle over the outside edge of your page and some filter will show on 2 sides of your page. They are so beautiful. Love these coffee filter things! Thanks.

Thank you for the coffeefilter ideas! About the shank buttons: you can make a little cut in a page and glue the button on the page, then you have at the other side a hanging point for an embellishment.

Gayle, I came across this video again and realized I never told you how these filters were dyed. When your felt -tipped colored markers are almost used up, remove the felt tips and put the tip in a pint of plain rubbing alcohol. Put the top of the alcohol bottle and let the color leach out of the felt tip. When the alcohol is the color you like put the white filters in a plastic container deep enough to hold the filters submerged in the colored alcohol. If the filters are not submerged add a little water. Put the lid on the container and let the filters absorb the color. Put on gloves and squeeze the excess liquid from the filters, separate the filters on a tray or other flat surface to dry. DO NOT POU IN THE OVEN, IT'S ALCOHOL INK!! For stronger colors use new markers for more intense colors. I hope this is understandable.

I needed more ideas for coffee filters.I save all my used coffee filters . I use the coffee grounds to boil in water as coffee stain paper. I strain the grounds so it's not too messy Then I dry them in the backyard on ground cover rock in the backyard on a retainer wall. I like the little journal pages the best. Right now I tear them into strips and make flowers then layer them with other flowers on top.☺💕

I love making things with coffee filters! I made a few pockets and envelops a few months ago! I really need to make more for sure :) lol What i love to do with coffee filters is get them wet then splash some inks and watch them spiderweb around the coffee filter. If you use black inks it makes it look like the moon. I used a lot of them in my Supernatural themed journal i uploaded a few months ago :) Love you Gayle! Your always playing in the background while I make journals!

Great tutorial! I have been using the brown coffee filters in the guy journals and have made pockets with the white filters. I had not thought of folding them in half twice for a corner pocket tho! I'm excited to try that! I wait until I have used the filter for a pot of coffee and then shake most of the grounds off into a can to put in the composter. Then I rinse the little that's left under the kitchen faucet and let it dry on the drainer. It helps with getting rid of the winkles so no ironing! That's a plus! Also it drives it a little distressing. I like the scrunched ends left from the notebook. Love your lessons. Thanks.

Wonderful ideas!! I used of my "cupcake" coffee filters in a coffee journal I just made for my sister as a Christmas gift. I also used the regular ones; they were white so I coffee dyed them ...I coffee dyed a coffee filter haha. I also carefully opened a regular one, used it as a template and traced the shape onto a few coffee dyed papers and slipped them into a filter! This gave me a neat little "hidden journal" tuck! I didn't think to sew mine foey!!! Your ideas are always such fun! The stitch you chose really makes the envelope pop!! I cant wait to see how you decorate and incorporate them into your journal. It's late my side, everyone is sleeping but I am wide awake so thank you for keeping me company! Crafty hugs Janine :) PS Your craft iron is adorable!!
