Good tutorial! I do have a question, even if i setup my collider it just goes through the collider (basically I have a cup of water, and I want it to stay in the cup, but for some reason it just falls through it.
You have to select the cup and make it a rigid body under the bullet menu. Just like with the sphere but instead of an active rigid body, make it a passive rigid body (second option in the bullet create menu, just below active rigid body).

The fluid texture isn't rendering in arnold and the ball keeps falling through the mesh when I tried to add a passive rigid body to the container. Any idea why this is happening? Using Maya 2019.
Thanks for the tutorial man, it now makes sense. By the way, do you know why the tool box menu in Maya is taking up half the screen whenever I dock it?

when you create Biforst Liquid.. ur time line become green at this key frm ...any type ...because ...may time line have no ..green border and ...finally my water simulation dose not work........ u can ....suggest... me ....about Biforst time line....or ant tutorial

I was following your directions but when i tried to move the inner box away, the liquid particles follows the box. Then when i click on the bitfrost liquid then shift click on the sphere the particles go away and wont render.
Hello, Could you tell me, after doing the whole tutorial, how can I make the sphere collide with the box/pool? So as the sphere doesn't go through it and remain inside the box/pool. Because I tried ncloth, collide, rigid and passive body, but it didn't work out. Can you help me with this, please?

Hello, thanks for the video. For some reason, when the simuilation arrives to the end of the frames, it starts over but it doesnt go fast, its like it simulates all over again. Anyone have any idea of what happens?
If you want to have it play at real speed you should Cache the simulation, that way Maya doesn't have to calculate every particle for every frame. Which is what it does everytime you play it. Cacheing is also how you make sure the exact way it plays happens every single time.
you need to update to max 2018.5 - its a big update. once done the menu is there.. please also note that the bullet tab is missing, you will need to go to plug in manager from the windows menu and load and autoload the bullet.mll from the list.
Make sure it's a active rigid body, and assign it gravity. Right below the 'File' button in the top left corner, is a drop down with Fx as an option, click this. This will change the dropdowns available in the top. Next click Fields/Solvers in the top, then click Create Active Rigid Body in the drop down, and then in the same place click the Gravity checkbox.
