Hello I have my pattern and fabric in hand and I'm ready to sew but, I'm on vacation if only you could feel my pain I am sewwww ready to go home lol and start my new project 😍 two more days and I will be freeeeee #sewingisfun #myhobby #ILovesewing #pickingfabriciscool p.s. Mimi you look great and thank you for the video 💐❤️
Beginner question: Will the zipper insertion procedure that you demonstrate work if the zipper we are inserting is not longer than needed? I have the exact required size zipper that the pattern asks for, so I'm trying to see if your technique will still work. And if I do purchase a longer zipper, can I cut across the zipper teeth with regular scissors to make it the right size after I insert it?
@ MiMi G : Did you make the dress according to your dress size or did you had to go up and use a bigger pattern size? Because I can use my correct size on the pattern with stretch fabric ; however, with non stretch fabric... I will need to go up and use a bigger size on the pattern. Do you have the same problem with the patterns? Please Help..
Do you adjust the patterns for fit before you make them for yourself? I span three sizes, from little bust to generous (!) hips, and it is a real pain with dress patterns.
For this pattern I'd go with picking the size that correlates closest with your bust and waist, because trying to adjust around that curved dart seems like it could get a little tricky, then adding to the bottom of the dress whatever width you need for your hips. There are some great videos on tissue fitting that might help you save a little on fabric.
Thank you so much for recommending finishing the seams with a serger!!! I was very anxious about the seams!!! Love your tutorials. On my way to purchase this pattern. Could not believe when I saw it in a Simplicity catalogue in South Africa!!!!
For the facing pieces it says to cut 2 of the lining fabric, but I noticed in your video you used your regular fabric to make the facing pieces. Which one is the correct method please?
Veronica Santiago -- apparently Simplicity Patterns aren't available in Canada right now, except for online. I'd be happy to send you a copy... just PM me on Facebook and I can pick you up one, or several Mimi G patterns. They're $1 @ Joann's through today, so it's not a bother!
