Dear Gayle, Fibonacci numbers are appealing to look at. They are 1,2,3,5,8,13,21,54. It creates the spiral we see everywhere in nature, sunflowers, pineapple, flowers etc. The next number is achieved by adding the previous two numbers together. It provides a pleasing, balanced appearance

I don’t know if anyone else already told you but there are what is known as large throat or long arm sewing machines out there. The problem is they are really spendy. I looked into them when I first started sewing in my journals a couple of years ago. Too rich for my blood. 😂 Thank you for sharing your process, I am jazzed to try this out myself. I am STILL a LURKER - haven't begun any type of journal yet. That being said, however, I have watched TONS of videos. When I saw you grumbling about your wasted threads, I wondered if you save some of them to use as a "nest" under flowers/buttons for tags or for your strips of "snippets". I'm still getting caught up on your videos - started at the ones where you didn't talk at all and am up to this one. I'm thoroughly enjoying them all.

If I put this much work into one sheet, I'm scanning it to print out later. I just started junk journaling and I've been scanning all of my designs because I spent so much time on my pages. They're beautiful, though. Juki industrial machine has a bigger space so you wouldn't curl up your paper. There's other brands as well. But they're industrial and cost 4K!

Thread (per inch or yard) is very cheap. I find that I 'waste' a lot less by merely going to each seam in turn, w/o cutting the ends in between, but clipping away the very short intersecting threads when totally finished.Edit: Do you ever stitch around the entire perimeter?
@joannedonovan9489
@joannedonovan9489 4 года назад
When you were quilting, did you learn how to "jump" over things? It makes it more tedious on cutting threads after, but it saves a lot of time & thread!!
