I remember the days way back when Snocrash arguably started the gold farm science craze we are enjoying to this day - even though his inventions were adapted, modified and renamed over the years. Seeing him return makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... and old. Mostly old.
my xp orbs aren't flowing with the items :( standing in the nether all I get are items, no xp. minecraft multiplayer latest paper version server edit ; I figured it out, change the paper "world" server config value "experience-merge-max-value" from -1 to 1
Damn that's elegent. I'm still running the original doughnut farm with the xp slime launchers :) it's been tweaked for each version since the original and it still works amazingly well!
Thanks for joining us... lol - it's funny you mention that - First few minutes of this might give you those Sir David vibes.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-htSOxfVGM30.html
Hi, Targeted block readout is unreliable as it rounds the coordinates - On the left hand side, just above the Yellow highlight line you'll see the correct coordinates marked XYZ
Great video and design! But you might wanna put some slabs on the xp-shower portal too 😁 Also, a torch on the iron blocks in the overworld will prevent a baby zombie from spawning and dropping down your water stream to kill you 😉
If you can spawn proof down low in the Nether Waste and build it there it will perform even better. But a lot of people don't have the stomach for it. And it's just easier to build it up high.
You might have some stray nether portals laying around - there can't be any other (non-farm) portals within about 128 blocks of the farm (Overworld & Nether). The pigmen must be going somewhere - you'll have to find them. If you want check your portal positions you can always download the farm, and check it against yours - link is in the description.
You are always so technical. Then you pull out these half slabs. I look forever and can't find a half a slab. I just use slabs for now... Here's to hoping your next video isn't another year away... Still today I have never seen anyone else do that hopper storage thing you did. And with the magic of boats on hoppers now? Shulkers? The possibilities...
why dont they despawn once they go through? they arent passive mobs so should despawn with distance and noone on the other side should instant despawn them.
The first SMP I got on 8 years ago I built your donut gold/xp farm. It was a marvellous farm. I'll be building this one now :) (even tho I have just finished an ilmango donut) love your work.
@@HigeshiSan If it is a regular vanilla server, it should just work. If it doesn't, it might be because the server is running some mods like SpigotMC - which changes a number of regular Minecraft features, like pigmen dropping XP, moving XP orbs in water etc.. If you are able to try the farm on a single player - and see if it works - might help isolate the problem as well.
@@sno_crash I think the server is running paper, if I remember right. Had problems with the gravity block duper in end portals too. So probably is something like that. But I'll try it in a single player world just in case. Thanks
I appreciate the comment. Resource requirements are very basic and mentioned in the tute - but here they are: 9000 magma blocks, 4000 glass, 300 obsidian, Water, 30 packed ice, 3 turtle eggs, handful of normal building blocks like wood, cobble.
if it's possible to have the iron golem agro them from 32+ blks away from the player, then we could combine this concept with Gnembon's concept to speed up the killing rates and to simplify the design
my idea is to build the farm above the player, so that the pigmen could take 23 blks of damage to get looting rates while still having the advantage of fast kill rates if it turns out that the AI range is capped at 32 blks, then we could still build it above the player, it'll just be messier and less efficient
Pigman walking takes time, falling takes time. My design makes them run, and instantly disappear. You could probably use dozens of nether portals to avoid the pigman having to fall (similar to Gnembon), but that would complicate it a bit. If you do come up with something, certainly let me know.
9000 magma blocks, 4000 glass, 300 obsidian, Water, 30 packed ice, 3 turtle eggs, handful of normal building blocks like wood, cobble. Because it is built entirely on square-based technology, it takes only 20 minutes to build in creative using fill and clone command. World download is also available for those wanting a schematic.
