No as its the same theory as NOT being able to dye black fabric. In other words, generally you can dye light colours darker but NOT the other way around and/or can intensify a colour by leaving it longer in the dye bath. Also shall add; learning what artists refer to as 'the colour wheel' will assist in creating a number of colours when they are combined. Do a quick web search re the latter. ie.: The combination of blue and red = purple / red & yellow = orange / blue & yellow = green etc. Hope this helps.
