As can be seen at 7.45, the THINNER the wood, the less stable it is. I made 5 today, but with different specs. They are ROCK-SOLID! Length = 300 mm; Width = 90 mm; Thickness = 45 mm. Cut both ends at same 33° angle. Drill 40 mm hole - 190 mm from bottom. Perfect!

There are 4 primary things that affect balance point - angle at base, length of wine holder, dimensions of timber and type of timber used (density of timber) eg pallet wood is not the same measurements as say purpleheart). The 33 deg base angle tends to shorten the overall length of the holder (compared with the more 'standard' 45 deg) but the position of the hole will vary depending on the timber. Here's an example / guide - Hard Maple at 33 deg, 8" x 4" x 3/4 stock, hole center at 5.3" from front of base; pallet wood same angle and dimensions, hole center 6.1" from front of base. I have seen some people swear that you need to drill the angle of the hole parallel to the angle of the base but personally I drill them perpendicular to the base and just tilt the bottle..
Dear Finn MacCool First of all thank you for your visit in to my chanel, also big thanks for all you feed back and sharing about the making balancing wine holder, and will try to make with other type of timber,
Dear Chris L Thank you for taking the time visiting my chanel and give your feedback and correction, the total length of the wine bottle holder is 32 cm, sorry for the missed description about the inch due to I mostly use the cm in measurement, Once again thank you for your corrections
@@woodcreationwithMudita Thank you for taking the time to make the video. In America we do use the inch for measuring but we also use the cm. So if you wanted to make another project video, you can give the measurements in cm to make it easier.
