Tutorial: How to Mount Black Mesa [Steam Ver] onto Garry's mod. 

This guide may be outdated, im not sure, I haven’t tested since the release of bm 1.5, this guide was made for 1.0

NOTICE: this does NOT include NPC’s, weapons, and some scripted sequences. Its ONLY the maps, textures, and ragdolls. Sorry, I dont think there is a way to get it optimized, since it is not an official gmod mount.

NOTICE 2: Black mesa must be *COMPLETELY INSTALLED* (I mean like you can play it) for this to work.

So, question. 1. I putted the bms,C:windows (you know the rest) into gmod. But it doesn't show up. No ragdolls, maps, etc. Not working. 2. Does the game have to be installed that you can play it or that it's not installed that you can't play it. I have it on my game's list and it's not installed yet i still see in the steamapps common and BMS. Thank you! Note: i used the regular notepad of windows. Not Notepad ++ even if it shows the same things.

You can also use visual studio if you dont want to use notepad++

in 2023 this is such bullshit cause i have a windows 11 and when i do everything and get to the "bms" mount thing it does not let me type or delete anything + THERE IS NO GAP BETWEEN // AND } it pisses me off.

It wasnt working for me even though i have black mesa installed i need help.

i followed the steps and it did nothing whatsoever. i used notepad++ and copied everything you did exactly!!! doesnt work i have bms installed and i even just finished weve got hostiles i dont know what to say it sdoesnt work

quality on the text is low but i assume its : "bms" or something

There are no npc's and hdr is not working on maps

The mount.cfg won’t show up in my cfg folder. How do I create one?

i kept looking into the game area to see if i could mount it i didnt know that it manually mounted the files into it [ edit i almost commented that it didnt wokr but it did thx ;) ]

This guide worked for me and I didn't even had to do the other thing for maps they just showed up on the start game menu, Other than that thank you Soo much you are a hero 🫡

I might have screwed up, I think I turned my mount file from a cfg to txt, how can I fix this?

I did everything execpt I used a normal notepad for this,I have a mod that called Black mesa Spawnlist which that I can spawn black mesa stuff but all of them are just errors rn,some of them arent but I cant spawn them either. Some way to fix this?
