i love this! so helpful i dont really like reason as i am more comfortable with FL so this was gold for me, thanks! i need subtractor for that amazing bass
Like how u broke it down bro. Good stuff. Actually great. Have a question. Once selecting hardware devices on reason and tracking them in FL, can u insert more. I tried it and it seemed like it knocked out the other sounds. Like they wouldn't play anymore. Not bitching about it. If i have to pick all my sounds 1st in reason for it to pop fine. But i had to ask. Maybe i did something wrong but if possible can u answer this simple question. Thanks!
Can you answer question for me please? What I'm trying to do is get the Komplete Kontrol S49 keyboard to run with integration in FL Studio. It's not integrated to FL Studio but Reason is. Could I use rewire in FL Studio to open Reason as VST. In Reason open the KK and load up the keyboard. I want to use the functions of ARP and Chord Progression and similar features. Since they work in Reason will they transfer over to FL Studio by running Reason as a client? Thanks so much!
no problem i was just throwing my 2 cents out there. i was testing this out yesterday cus i had to reinstall reason in 32 bits. in order for it to appear in the fl studio rewire drop down menu.
this video is very very good. Thanks for all the help. I was wondering if we can do the complete opposite of what you are showing us. In other words, can we make FL Studio open up in Reason?
Good tutorial Shaun, but when I try this and try to play the MIDI OUT keys the is no sound at all. I can hear sound when I play the piano roll in reason but not in FL Studio. Am I missing something here?
I love your videos . I have a question for you . when i rewire i can only here reason playing threw fl studio by dotting it . I like to use the reason kicks . but they want let me play them manually off of my midi key board . When i hit the key board i can here the kicks playing from reason . But in want play threw the midi out . but if i dot it out you can here it when it,s playing the kick threw midi out .
I didnt route them with hardware inferface and every combinator added now shows every device in it as a new channel in the midi outputs menu in fl studio, frustrating, what can i do?
Hello! Is it possible to route both L and R (stereo) reason channels to one fl midi out channel? If I'm doing like this two fx channels plays Left and Right reason output separately.. it's a bit confusing and make me sick :D
reason has been my go to for 6 years and now with my vst collection i'm learning to rewire in fl, so far so good. thanks for the help. My ? though, i've built a serious combinator for my drums using the redrum. Would i take all 10 outputs from the 16 channel mixer in my drum combinator and wire them to the hardware interface of reason to get the separation in fl? And would i need to add midi out channels for all separated drums coming in, or just the one midi out for my drum combinator? gr8 vid!
I need help I've been trying to rewire reason to fl studio for a while couldn't get it so I gave up. I get an message that says "looks like this is the 1st time your using reason, open reason 1st and go to setup" even though I've been using it for years please help anyone
Great tutorial! I'm using reason wired with fl studio and I noticed that when I make something, on the fl velocity when I try to change the velocity, the reason sounds always stay on the same level. Do you know how to correct this?
I'm actually not the OP, but I'm struggling with this myself right now. been at it for 2 days so far, and this is the 2nd go at it. will let u know if I get it sorted...
@ShaunFriedman thanks for the reply, I just don't get the point of it though lol might as well use fl from the start? Its just that evertime i start Fl up with ableton it goes straight into rewire mode and there's probably some settings that I gotta change.
Nice video...When I click require and the rewire tab opens and I click plug ins then the client drop down I only see fl studio in the list despite the fact I have reason 5 installed. What could I be doing wrong? Help-
lovelycars1 I#ve read that the solution is to install Reason as 32bit version. This shall be done by creating a shortcut to installreason.exe, right klick --> properties, and as destination add " /32" in the end. However this doesn't work for me, but maybe that's a have a quite old version (3.0).
Thanks for your tutorial Shaun, was really helpful but for some reason every time i play something using a midi out channel my system plays the instrument i have chosen on Reason AND some kind of piano coming from the midi out channel at the same time. Do you know what can i do to listen just the reason machine? Many thanks.
When having both programs rewired: Is there a possibility to click play in Reason and have FL Studio playing at the same time, in stead of having to click play in FL Studio all the time?
It sort of worked for me but when I play the midi channel with my midi keyboard there is no sound coming from it. It only comes from the master but when I click the mouse over the midi channels then it works. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
Hopefully you can help me answer this question. I have a few midi out channels rewiring into Reason. During playback everything is awesome but whenever I save and export my track and play it back, the tracks that go to Reason aren't played back in the .mp3. Any reason why this might be?
Ok you may have answered this question but this seems like an easy to fix error. Whenever I load up a combinator patch it takes up like 14 channels for each and every little device within the combinator will it still work If I delete them all except for the one that says combinator? Thanks
For some odd reason, occasionally when i am using rewire reason, it only allows me to play from one output (the first instrument i chose on reason) and not multiple. Is their a way to fix this? Even on actual software reason if i make sounds from the second or third instrument of my choosing, it wont make the sounds.
I'm re-wiring Reason to FL ONLY to use the frequency analyser, is there anyway i can make FL a slave and Reason as the client? Or, could i send the main mixer channel in Reason through FL studio for analysis only? Sorry im new to FL. Any help is much appreciated! :D
So when I use combinator patches in Reason, all the devices that make up said patch crowd up my device list in the multi-out window. Is there any way to fix this? I'm trying to use multiple instruments but end up running out of selectable channels quickly
im not entirely sure, but i dont believe you can use the combinator. am i right? i have some sounds in Reason in combinator that consists of a slew of effects and thor instances but i cant get them to run in FL.
I haven't rewired in about 2yrs. And now i'm having major problems. If try to use my drums in FL it plays along with reason. I did everything that was done in the vid and the sounds still play together. What could be the problem?
Restart computer. I know, very basic but may work. Many moving parts with versions of reason, computer operating systems, and FL studio version. I actually still use reaaon 4 and FL studio 9 because those 2 allow me the function to rewire. I have a dell laptop windows x64.
Hi! How can I "rewired" or transfer patterns in FLStudio11 (with scores and generators) from one project to a new file project to start over, like exporting project bones but more like copy & paste. A faster way, I mean. Is it possible? Thanks!
hey nice video but when i try to rewire reason... it doesnt show up on the list... fruity loops does... and my ableton and automap are showing up... just not reason... someone help??? :/
See, the problem is, "Reason" doesn´t even show as an option for the client, even though I have Reason 5 and FL Studio installed on my PC! Only thing it shows are "none", "FL Studio" and "Melodyne 4" !
OK, finally found the problem, I´m just an idiot!: Of course, my 64bit version of FL Studio won´t find my 32bit installed version of Reason...... Opened my 32bit version program of FL Studio, added ReWired and there it was, the "Reason" option!!!
maybe because you have reason installed as 64 bit and not in 32 bit. you need to install reason in 32 bits to rewire cus i believe fl studio doesnt run in 64 bit yet(but i could be wrong).
Hey for some Reason (pun intended) Reason doesn't show up in the client list. it just says none, i have reason installed and everything so what could be the problem
Usually, people want to use the sequencer in Fl studio with rewiring. Your tempos will also match up in rewire mode. You can just export stems FROM reason and load up into FL Studio or any DAW if you want to mix down in fl studio.
hi when i try to play them together with a reason already created it just loops at the beginning ... it wont allow me to move the markers either ... help
Good tutorial but alot of back & forth, I will have to try this out. Too bad u couldnt just send the main stereo out from Reason Mixer to a channel on the FL Mixer just to make everything plain & simple lol
