I have a smartdrive 65 and two different times I was using it and I stopped the car the garmin went off but then when I got back in the car and I noticed that the garmin didn't come back on. all the way home nothing happened with it. I brought it in the house and tried to connect it to the computer and still nothing.. then after several hours. I hooked it back up and it came on,, do you have any idea what happened,, could it be that it got too hot?
That could be due to heat, but it is most likely a software issue. I would use Garmin Express to update the firmware. Make sure all your maps are original Garmin because sometimes unlocked or third-party maps will stop working when you update the firmware.
Maybe you have a defective unit, Garmin is still one of the best in GPS navigation Technology. The are the only GPS manufacturer who makes GPS Navigation devices for Land, Streets, Water, and Air.
