TheJJGamer Yeah I know right! The Wii Homebrew can be removed fully if you know what you've installed to begin with :) IOS can be uninstalled if you have the IOS.wad that you used to install it. That way all TMD and Ticked data is deleted rather than just the IOS itself being deleted and leaving traces behind :)
I don't quite understand how to actually add homebrew to the SD card. I assumed I downloaded i and copied the homebrew's folder to the /3ds folder. But nothing shows up in the Homebrew launcher, so I assume I'm doing something wrong.
TXF No that's right,any new applications should just be placed in SD:\3DS as shown with the 4 apps in the video! I wonder why they're not showing up for you... Try re-downloading the apps and putting them on the SD again, I find that the launcher can be quite picky at times even with things like that hahaha Hope that helps!
TXF Update! I have just read that the latest hack for 3DS (TubeHax) requires the .3dsx to be the same name as the folder that it's in! Do you get me? So, the application folders are kept in SD:\3DS in folders. The applications themselves, the .3dsx files, are supposed to match the name of the folder they're inside of :) That's apparently how it works for TubeHax, but I'm not sure whether it matters at all for Ninjhax, but it's the same person who created both hacks so it could be the case! :)
NEVER openly admit you owned this game before this exploit was found ;) hahaha I'm only kidding, though it wasn't very popular, could be found for really, REALLY cheap until this exploit was released! I'm on an old 3ds 6.1.0-10U and I put the correct files in the root of the sd card that came with it and scanned the correct qr code and it says run exploit and I say yes and all it does is bring me to the browser, loads it all but doesn't bring up the home brew page it just sits there on a frozen browser screen what am I doing wrong?
Do you have to keep using Cubic Ninja in order to load the Hombrew Channel? Or is it a one time deal where after the homebrew channel is install, you're not required to continue to use Cubic Ninja?
squeal259 Yeah you'll always need Cubic Ninja to reload it, but you don't have to keep scanning the QR Code. If you go to the QR menu of the game once the save is modified, it'll auto load the Homebrew Launcher :)
There WERE :P Nintendo updated the 3DS firmware within about 2 weeks of the release of this exploit and blocked it! They're really quick with the updates recently!
They really are on the ball at the Moment... The vWii hack for the HBC is still never gonna be deleted though which is great! has no idea you were a fellow Temper! I've been there over 7 years now, was very into the hacking scene at the initial Wii Hacking explosion! XD

I couldn't do it, so my brother helped me and I've been modding things ever since :P I love my wii, mainly due to homebrew. It opens up the full potential of your console :) I actually found your channel when trying to hack my vWii to run gamecube discs :D
Mεgα. Yeah it really does open many many opportunities for making your own little games and such! Just great knowing you can mess with whatever you want on the system and be completely safe :P I loved the hacking community back then and still do now, just not as active any more. Hopefully there will be more to come if there are bigger brighter updates to the 3DS/ WiiU hacking scene in the future!

Hey there Mikey, I'm sorry I don't have time to watch through your video all the way to get all the information but I just have a super quick question. I already have emulators for gen 4 consoles (and prior, plus hand helds gba and prior) on my wii and wii u, and psp. They all work pretty well. I have the new 3ds xl. As of this video you're saying sound doesn't work on the snes emulator. What about genesis, gb, gba, ect.... how do they work IF they work? Does sound work on them? Does sound work on the snes one now? Last question, is this as safe and as easy to do as the wii hack? I do still like to buy TONS of legal games but I'd also like to have emulators for real old stuff or stuff that isn't available on the eshop.
TheSilentSwordsmen To be honest man I'm not sure of the progress of any of the emulators! At the time of making this video I think that SNES was the only console that had a released Emulator for it. I'm sure that now, 7 months on there will have been a lot of breakthroughs to how the console works and that sound should work. Though I'm no professional so don't quote me on that. I know that now, there's someone in progress with a hack for firmware 9.9... So I'm gonna say they must have found a way to implement sound by now XD
What this actually does is allow unsigned code to run, meaning any appps, emulators, or home made games can be run using this Homebrew launcher! It's an exploit that Smealum and team managed to gain access to the Kernel. At the moment there's no app that allows the use of cheat codes and I'm not sure if the Homebrew Launcher has/ will have that kind of access to the system to allow save editing yet! It's kind of like the HBC but with less functionality at this moment in time, as we can't edit any system files or play backups etc at the moment, Hope that helps!
If you uninstall Ninjhax through the actual application, and re-install it, will it work properly? Also, when you uninstall it, does it delete ALL Ninjhax data? If not, please let me know how as I am thinking about installing it, and if I do happen to want to uninstall it and restore my 3ds to normal, (before Ninjhax) because I'm not sure if it will actually change something in my 3ds permanently that cannot be removed. Sorry for the long comment, but help from anyone would be appreciated.
Don't worry dude, this doesn't modify or install ANYTHING on your system so it's easy to return the system back to normal when you're done using homebrew. All it does is change the Ninjhax save file, it tells the 3DS to load the file boot.3dsx on the SD card :) Literally all you need to do, is go to system settings, data management and delete the save file for Ninjhax, everything related to the hack is in that save file so deleting it erases everything to do with Homebrew from your console! :)
MNo problem, hope you get it working! Hmmm, that's a tough question, I guess it doesn't really matter since they're both an out dated firmware by now, though I see no harm in updating to 8.1 using smash since this and any other hack will still work :) I've just finished working on a Gateway3DS tutorial for firmwares 4.1 - 9.2, I think if you wanna use homebrew then a gateway is the best way for it since you can use something called emunand, which basically allows you to use the DS with the outdated firmware you're on, but still have all the functionality of the latest firmware (9.4). It's basically faking a firmware so you can use the latest update exclusive things like eshop hahaha

Redownload the starter folder and replace boot.3dsx with the new one, we had this problem initially too and it turned out to be a bad loader file even though it said it downloaded correctly! :) Hope that helps, let me know if you need more help!
Hmm... How strange :S the only suggestion I have for that is a bad .3dsx file... But it sounds like it should be fine! I'm not really sure what else to suggest in this situation. Are all the paths right and stuff? is the file named correctly with no capital lettters etc?
Aside from the Firmware version hassle this seems even simpler than soft-modding a Wii or jailbreaking an iOS device. Also let's celebrate the fact that for once a broken Ubisoft game acts to our advantage instead of the exact opposite.
Yeah they were pretty on the ball with the update this time round! Really, at this moment in time this only grants us the ability to run unsigned code so at the moment we can't really call it a soft-mod :( There's no access to any system files or anything so it is what we see until someone comes along who wants full access :P A celebration indeed! +Blaze Nine “Blaze the Gallade” Thousand I've never used the application CitraGBA, but I'm assuming that it's an emulator for GBA. You'll likely need to put a folder on the root of the SD Card called ,GBA' and put any ROMs you have into that folder before using the app :)

Hey bro, just a heads up. ninjhax still works on 11.2.0-35. Apparently the studio for the game went out of business and the source code for the game is lost so nintendo can't patch it. And by the way, cubic ninja is 30 dollars at gamestop.
+sjwilson1079 Ninjhax 2.7 might work, but the first version of the exploit definitely does not. I'm fact, I think that Ninjhax 2.7 only works up to 11.1.x-x .X. I'm not sure where you're getting your information from but it really doesn't sound credible haha
Malik Ali It's prbably not the regular Ninjhax, there have been updated versions since I believe. There's no point in using Ninjhax anyways, you might as well install a9lh (Arm9 Loader Hax) and CFW (Custom Firmware) To run your unsigned apps such as the homebrew loader
+Kikiyo Tran Ermmmmm I'm not 100% on this to be hoest, I'm not sure if an app like that would require some access to system files or at least game files to change coding to cheat. The best thing for this is google I think a I've not been in the 3DS Hacking scene for a while!
Link The Hero Of Time 550 In honesty, I think it's impossible to port FNaF to 3DS. Mainly because the game is made for a platform much higher spec than a 3DS can handle. You'd never manage to get the graphics and textures of that game. Maybe someone could make a homebrew version of the game with much lower specs, but I don't know how likely it is that someone will take the time to do that!
If the system updated to 9.4 then you're right, it won't work anymore, though a 3DS System shouldn't block you from playing in order to update the console. Thats strange :S
Unfortunately, it's not possible to restore the NAND from one console onto another console because of encrypted Keys belonging to each! Plus, if I uploaded my NAND, you'd have access to all my eShop stuff, all of my saves, my games and online data, so 100% no :P

that's a lot of work why not just get an r4 card? got that to backup my retail gba games and play ds roms also got the nds adapter plus to backup my retail ds games.i needed this to edit my save files with pokegen to get wondercards for the event pokes.
This flash cart isn't for loading DS, GBA etc, it can actually run 3DS backups and is one of the only cards on the market to do so :) It also allows homebrew through the 3DS hardware, meaning that apps can be developed for the console itself :)
XD basically you said you need 7-zip, winzip, or winrar to open zip files when you can open it with file explorer A.K.A. the tool that pops up when you double click a file on your desktop or that little folder icon on your taskbar.

MikeyTaylorGaming Yeah, the new 3ds is really great. The 3D is outstanding and the new c-stick feels really nice, you can't even feel it moving under your thumb but it magically works :D . I got mine imported from Australia for Christmas :)
Oh it's like a pressure sensor or something then? I had heard that atually and I hate the sound of that XD Most people like it though so that's a good start. I'm actually kind of glad and sad that they brought the new 3DS out, on one hand, the 3D capabilities of the older one are a bit crap especially noticed with the lag that comes in pokemon XY/ORAS. There's no 3D at all in Hoarde battles!! Hopefully they give an update for you New 3DS users to use that extra processing power for the 3DS in pokemon too. And yeah they're not out here in the UK till at least next year right? But Australia is still the PAL region so that's damn helpful for the importees!
MikeyTaylorGaming No seriously, the c-stick is actually really nice, i wwouldn'tcall it a pressure sensor, i'd call it a thumbstick that moves around without you feeling it lol :P But yeah, really happy with my new 3ds. You just HAVE to see the 3d effect, it's so much better than before, especially with head tracking that works a lot better than i expected... It even tracks your eyes!. And yeah, I really hope they use 3d more now with the extra processing power becuase I have 3d on all the time now :D I imported mine for £200, and it is definitely worth it imo :)

+Gra130503 As no system files can be accessed using this method there's really no chance of a brick. Only when applications are released that allow modification of system files will bricks be a risk, but right now I believe we're very safe as it's only a save file which gets modified, so deleting that removes all traces of homebrew from the console :)
Not yet, the homebrew scene is very very new at this stage, even the minecraft homebrew only allows you to place a block and not actually alow you to break it again hahaHa The future of 3DS homebrew is unknown, but we will see!
Joshua Bradford unfortunately not yet, though things are still in the early development stages so it could be possible, It may take a while. Although the 3DS is more powerful than the DS itself, to EMULATE a DS takes much more effort, so it may not be something that can be done on a 3DS. We'll have to wait and see! :)
Cookie __XD As mentioned in the Title and the Video itself at 20 second in, it'll work on a 3DS with firmware between 4.0 and 9.2. Ninjhax will only work if it's between those firmwares. But the latest update I believe is 9.5, so if you've updated since the release of this video you won't be able to :)

You need to make a folder on your SD card called snes and put rom files in it haha I'm pretty sure that BlargSNES has a file explorer, so I guess you can just put the games anywhere on the SD card actually. BlargSNES is very buggy still, only about 50% of games are fully compatible with the emulator so far.
+Sebase Fernandez You may not believe me when I say this, but it may not be possible for a 3DS to emulate a DS console, in the same way that a Nintendo Wii can't Emulate Gamecube Games. The consoles are just not powerful enough to be able to emulate the predecessors. Although, it's possible that someone could come up with some kind of loader which allows for running of DS games more natively, as if it were being used in DS mode maybe.
alex rembisz You;'re very negative for a developer! :P There are many devs out there in the Wii scene listened to people and took note of what they were saying in criticisms to improve their apps for the user's needs :) Not all, but many! What exactly is it you've developed? Something for the Wii Console or something else? Just wondering :)

This video is kinda pointless now isn't it? most of us updated our systems by now and there's no way to downgrade, and that game is out of stock in every fuckin' game store! You can only get it online, but online its so expensive its stupid!! you just just got my hopes up for nothing 😢

I thought I was on to something good!! So I didn't even take any time to read the title. LOL!! Like getting a new fancy toy and pushin' the manual right to the side. I'm just a disappointed there aren't any options that don't require the purchase of a bad game to hack the ds. Guess I'll just have to wait till the ds goes the way of the PSP. Then its one file on a SD card and BAM!! Instant hombres!! I'll just hold out till then.
Yeah man I know what you mean, I remember when the Wii was first hacked and I bought a big (at the time) HDD to run all my games from! Bad move, because back then only a couple of HDDs worked with the hacks XD I'm not sure how possible it is for them to come up with a new exploit in honesty, I've heard it's gonna be very difficult/ near impossible... I actually won my Gateway 3DS 1 year ago in a competition on GBAtemp.net. BUT I'd already updated to the latest firmware since I was never gonna get one... So I couldn't use it HAHAHA Then, this year everything changed when they finally released an update for the cart that made it work with 9.2!! All I can say is don't update for as long as you can, sometimes waiting pays off like it did for me :P TL:DR, Don't update your console again in case theres that slight possibility that it will be hacked in future.
+XxSmash God123xX (show) doesn't work anymore anyways so it'd be a waste, the title gives firmware versions that it works on! Cubic Ninja was actually about £5 before this exploit was released. The exploit caused the game too be worth a lot more to the community hahaha
Debstep Dead It's likely that most people have already updated past the point of this exploit now, so there's no real need for Cubic Ninja anymore XD Anyone who's on a low enough Firmware will know about the game :)
