Unfortunately, it is not possible to wire a typical annunciation that way without a control panel. I can however make a video showing how to wire a remote key-switch annunciator to a pull station and fire alarm, which is actually going to be in the next few videos. Hint hint... 👍
Glad to hear this helped you! However, there is one quick thing I must clarify. The numbe rof pull stations you can hook up is unlimited. But, to my knowledge, the number of notification appliances you are able to hook up depends on how much power the power source you are using runs on. Don't 100% quote me on that, but, I can assure you 99% that the number of notification appliances you have the ability hook up all depends on the output of the power source; which in this case, is the adapter.
Now, with fire alarm control panels, that is somewhat different. Again, to my knowledge, on my Fire-Lite MS-4 Panel, and on most fire alarm control panels in general, you can hook up more like twenty four or so amount of devices. Don't quote me on what the exact number is. But I can tell you that with fire alarm control pane (which run on MUCH more power), you are able to hook up at least a couple dozen more devices per NAC (Notification Appliance Circuit).
I'm working on a fire alarm system but it's saying default way could be the problem bcus when I pull the alarm it goes off but when I hook it up to the box it goes off but it gets low
Hey big question does it work with 2 pulls and one notification appliance see I am starting a collection and have one notification appliance a witch is a fake spectre alert classic made by flexzion a bg-12 and bg-8 btw I have only had the collection for 5 weeks
2 questions 1 do u have to use speaker wire and 2 can u wire more then 3 with one adaptor like can u keep on wiring as many pull stations and alarms u want to add and keep using the same method
The kind of wire doesn't matter. Even in a real fire alarm system. Speaker wire, regular wire, etc. will work. For the second question, yes and no. You can have as many pull stations as you want with the same adapter. This is the same for a real system as well with a panel like the one I have. Pull stations have no power running through them. That is why you can have as many pull stations as you want. However, with the same adapter, you can't have as many strobes, horn strobes, etc. as you want. Adapters only have so much power. I have never really counted or tested how many notification appliances you can have on one adapter. However, in a real system like my Fire-Lite MS-4 panel or really any other panel, you can have A LOT more notification appliances because a panel has a ton more power. But on any fire alarm system, there still is a limit on how many strobes, horn strobes, etc. you can have. So to answer your first question, yes, you can have as many pull stations you want on one adapter. For your second question, you can have at least a few notification appliances, but not unlimited like you can pull stations. I hope that helped you out! Feel free to ask if you have any more questions!
Can u use an anninsator instead of a panel because panels r a bit expensive and I don't really want to get one because I don't know how to wire up systems but I do know how to wire and anninsator
You can't use an annunciator like the way you are thinking of. Plus you have to have a panel compatible with the right kind of annunciator. My Fire-Lite MS-4 is not even compatible with an annunciator. The ones that are compatible with annunciators are more expensive. So no, you can't. Annunciators are only meant for real systems with panels compatible with one. I have a video in the planning stage now about how to wire a panel system with my Fire-Lite MS-4 panel. So to answer your question, no, you can't use an annunciator.
To do that, all you need to do is follow this tutorial and stop at 2 notification appliances instead of three. For the pull stations, but add one on with wires from the first one to the second one.
You would still wire it up with the positive and negative. The wires would be in a different form, that's all. This tutorial can be done with any pull station.
LONG story. I will have to explain that some other time in a Q&A video and/or a video regarding that topic. There are MANY different ways fire alarms in schools, buildings in general, as well as, your own house, can be wired.
Well, for one, based on your channel, (not to be mean) that is kind of hard to believe. Two, I am very busy right now and I will be for awhile. I do not have time to constantly answer "long story" questions, as much as I would like to, I cannot at the moment. You will just have to wait. If you really can't wait and/or just don't have the patience. I would advise you ask another enthusiast. Again, I absolutely HATE to sound mean, but I cannot take my time right now and answer in depth how all of that works right now. I hope you understand.
If you have any small, and BASIC questions, I can answer a few. If not, like I said, you will just have to wait and/or talk to another enthusiast at the moment. I will admit I do feel a little bad for not being able to answer your question(s), I always love answering questions and helping people, but I cannot for the time being.
i meant my dad is working on one hes trying to wire Simplex tbars with wheelock speaker strobes for the horns truealert horns in the classroom and 1 spectralert classics outside and a BG-12LX outside with and STI cover
J 06 Generally speaking, most all fire alarm work almost the same exact way (with the exception of a few). I would recommend the Wheelock AS Horn/Strobe. Which is the one farthest to the right in the video. It is super easy to wire up and is very well built.
J 06 I do not currently own one. However, I can tell you that a Wheelock Et-1070-24 is actually a speaker/strobe (not a horn/strobe). Therefore, it will have to be wired up way differently than a typical horn strobe. It is a lot to explain though, to be honest. I will try my best to get a video out on how to hook up a speaker strobe, no promises though. 👍👍
@@firealarmperson4774 fire lite ms 2 I'm very dumb I figered it out my braincells started to work if you wanted to see i just made a test on my channel just to show you I used my brain sorry...
MAYBE.... I have thought about doing more wiring tutorials, as well as how to wire certain parts of a panel. I am not sure if I will do that yet, because it would take a lot of time to plan out and make the video itself. I am not being lazy, I am just busy and I have a lot going on with my life and things like that in general. No pun intended. But great thought though! Something to think about! :)
A speaker strobe won't work unless you have an audio signal by using an amplifier or a voice evacuation fire alarm panel. Those can be very expensive though. If you want to use a speaker strobe, the only part of it that will actually work is the strobe. The speaker can't just work off of regular voltage. That may damage the speaker. I have never had that happen to mine after putting voltage into mine. But its better to be safe. If you want to wire up the Mircom horn strobe and a Genesis speaker strobe. You are just going to have to wire up the Mircom horn strobe like you normally do, and the STROBE part of the speaker strobe wired together like I showed in the tutorial. You would do this just like the tutorial, except you are only doing it with two notification appliances not three. It is the exact same thing except you just would stop at two like you want.
You pretty much can have as many pull stations as you wish. To connect another pull station, you simply run wires to the next pull station. Positive to positive, negative to negative. If you know what that means. I normally DO take requests for videos. I will have to see if I can do another video soon. I don't however take loads or requests for videos. Like requests over and over again. I did not state that very well in my channel description. But I will think about it and see if I want to make another tutorial. I would like to be able to help you as best I can. :)
Home Depot will have it in the audio supply section. You can buy it in certain quantities. At least that is where I buy mine. My dad had this particular wire in the video laying around in a roll he used for a stereo setup. Any wire will work for this tutorial or any fire alarm wiring.
Home Depot, Lowes, or any store like that in the audio electrical section. I am not sure about Radio Shack. The websites will tell you if they have it or not.
Travis Skaggs It really depends on what your power source can handle. I probably could connect at least one or two more with this particular setup. It also depends on what the devices need and can handle.
