My first phone flashing... and i have to admit your video is really helpfull!! Some steps are missing like how to unlock the phone (go to sony for getting the 0xKEY value. SDCard... yes this is the normal storage. Setting all in a folder starting with 1 may go through the list faster. At the beginning we unfortunately do not hear you so well with the background music. Besides that... thanks a lot for this video ! More than helpfull! I'm happy to say i have a new performant phone !
Valentin FreakZ I found a fix for speaker but the thing is you need to start the process again,flash kernel and then the install the android/gapps/supersu.(link for fix in the description)

Sreekanth Manche yeah you can install it on your Xperia Sl but i think you will need another key to unlock bootloader(FIRST TRY THE KEY FROM DESRIPTION,MIGHT BE THE SAME KEY) but you can get key for sl,follow this steps: :: Before Unlocking Bootloader, You Need To Check That if Your Device’s Bootloader Can Be Unlocked Or Not. For Checking Bootloader Status Dial *#*#7378423#*#* From Phone Dialer To Access Service Menu.Find Bootloader Unlock Status Over There. If It is Set To Yes Then Only You Can Unlock ::Your Device’s Bootloader Otherwise It’s Impossible To Unlock It. :: After Verifying Bootloader Unlock Status Set To Yes, Go To Sony’s Official Bootloader Unlocking Site: developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/ :: Scroll To The Bottom of The Page select xperia sl & Press Continue. :: You Will be Prompted With The Message “Are You Sure ?”. please when trying to install ADB drivers on my PC even when i connect my phone to my Pc in fast boot mode the Si fastboot drivers option does no pop for me, that is in the device manager windows the "OTHERS" option doesnt come up please tell me how to do it

Amazing, Android 5.1 on Xperia S makes me able to develop material design apps now :) Is it possible to extend the internal memory's free space, or reduce the space used by the system ? With some apps installed right now, I've only approx 400 Mo available ... Thanks :)
Good afternoon, the installation worked perfectly. But the only problem I'm having is with respect to GPS, Google Maps or Waze, when I trigger any of these apps using and enjoying the GPS, the phone keeps resetting all the time. I forgot to install root before installing Lollipop and now i cant get into CWM recovery. What should i do? Also display is really sensitive, for example when im trying to clean it or shaking with phone will turn on the display and could be easily unlocked so.. My friend told me i can turn it off but i dunno how. Please, help me with these 2 things.
Patrik Knowhow 1.To get into recovery you need to flash again kernel.elf(if you do that you will need to install again android,gapps,etc).The root was required for unlocking bootloader,and for flashing kernel.elf is required unlocked bootloader. 2.There is an option in display settings : Ambient display turn off that and your phone will never wake up when is picked up.
ok, i got last question (hope this time u'll answer ;p). I got CM 11 installed including twrp(which actually is unreachable with stock rom 4.1.2[thats why i was askin' before ;)] so i installed cwm and then did the rest things), so it means (thats the question) i dont need to flash the kernel right ? I just wipe all data and install it(the system), huh ;> hope its not too chaotic..xd
dodek0309 If i understand right you want to use other "recovery mode"(like kernel.elf or cwm) to install the android or cm11 ,you can use what do you want to install the android but kernel.elf i tested and its working.You don't need to install kernel if you use cwm.
Valentin FreakZ k, thaks, anyway i wasnt even waiting, just flashed the system :D dunno why, but cm 12.1 doesnt work, cant install it. I've installed this lolipop AOSP TEST 13, but cant use this system because i need to change my mac address everytime i reboot system and on this lolipop it is not working (data/etc/wifi/fw), i mean i can change it, but it is not working, wifi still cannot connect, so i restored cm 11 and now im planning to install simpleAOSP (5.1.1 too). We'll see how it works :D

Works on a Sony Xperia S from Brazil normally? Also i would like to know if every thing is running fine, radio, cams, wifi, bluetooth, audio, gps? Really like your videos, keep doing that!
If you don't have branded Xperia S it should work(branded means you can't unlock bootloader).The wifi works great with no problems ,radio works,cams works,blotooth works(i have BT Headphones and use them to listen music) and gps works.I didn't noticed any problems in this version.

gule8045 based on one of the comment, proceed as below: - go in fast boot mode (shutdown the phone + connect the cable with volume up) - start flashtool in fastboot mode - select the kernel flash - reboot your phone (press volume up after clicking the button to restart the device) - install the zip as before

+indiaisdabest I do not have one particularly! I picked the one in the video and it worked! Then you have to try. Otherwise you can setup back your backup and try again reflashing.

Valentin FreakZ I installed Google keypad and now am able to use that feature. Also, the loud speaker doesn't work during calls, can you do anything to fix that please. I chair a lot of conf calls and it would be nice to be able to use the speaker phone than a handsfree.

Valentin FreakZ Thanks Buddy, I'll try that. I found a few more bugs. 1. Shortcuts randomly vanish from the screens - for example I have three screens and arranged my apps in them, some of the app icons vanish over the day. 2. The Camera App keeps crashing after a few clicks. Particularly if you directly open from the lock screen. 3. If you do not answer a few calls or do not use the phone for a few hours, it hangs and doesnt let us unlock. I needed to reboot to make this work. 4. Doesn't catch data signals so well in roaming but this could be network /phone hardware issue. 5. If continuous whatsapp or email alerts come in, it develops huge lag and becomes non-responsive. Hope these could be fixed too. Thanks a lot for all the help.

hi, I have not yet rooted my sony xperia s, my phone is running on its official android jellybean 4.1.2. currently have two problems with my phone 1) phone's wi-fi is not working, all the time its shows "turning on wi'fi" 2) phone is not getting recognised when i connect it to my PC, phone is only geting charged when i connect it to my PC, but PC doesn't show any media device or phone connected to it. I have tried on 3-4 laptops with 3-4 different usb cables still no solution. Are the above problems known for sony xperia s? can I root my sony xperis s and install Lollipop version with having the usb connection problem? are the above two issues will get resolved after i install the lollipop on my sony xperia s?
Karandeep Singla For the second problem: Try to use a different cable,many people had that problem and rezolved changing the cable. And the first problem tha cause might be the android not the phone,you could try to install lolipop but make sure you follow all steps in the video and backup you files.

In the step where it asks you to unmount the sdcard, don't. Go to TWRP->mount and untick all the partitions. 2. Continue with the instructions. 3. After you do a "w" in step 10, make sure you go to TWRP and format the /data and /sdcard partitions to ext4. (will attach a screenshot later. Basically in the middle of the screen there will be this options asking you to modify or format partitions) 4. Mount all the partitions (/system /cache /data /sdcard) 5. Push ROM and enjoy your phone ITS WHOLE ANOTHER LEVEL!

Its working really great but My xperia thinks that it has just 2 GB of storage on device and SD card with 25 GB of storage... I can move just two apps on SD card and device storage is full 😞 do you have any idea how to fix this??

I´ve lost root access, can´t root the phone anymore. Keeps telling me that I need to upgrade the SuperSu binaries. Any solution? can´t install a custom recovery either, because of the root access. What can I do?

Hello anyone there. Im in dire need of help and i need to get a solution ASAP. I successfully installed lollipop 5.1 on my sony xperia SLT26i. I wanted to restore my former apps so i restored the TA backup which instead switched my phone off and it is not coming back on. Its entering into fastboot mode, but other than that only vibration whenever i hold down the power button. Please anyone with a solution help me out. Im impatiently waiting for a reply from anyone. Avinav Timilsina The problem is caused by superuser program,clear data of superuser and uninstall it then try to flash kernel.(to clear data go to apps click superuser and you will have "clear data" button)

Vineeth Raj Those are the same files that i used on my computer(tutorial) and i assure you that they are not dangerous.Try to dezactivate antivirus,follow the tutorial and then enable it.
johntank hoshe No,if is official release for your phone you need to restore key and format phone with phone driver,after you can install how you said. But if you want 5.2 on your phone without official release you need to whait until developers work on it.

i made every thing you say on this video but google apps give me ( this apps just for android 5.1 ) than when i try to install the android start correctly but when is start home screen restart i was wait for more than 12 hour and nothing happend restart and restart :(
Omar Fouad I don.t why you have this problem but restore your key(with the program TA Backup) and then format your phone to 4.1.2 with the driver of your phone(pc companion).
