GamingAnd ThenSum I've never messed with hardly any emulators on pc, so I really couldn't answer that but, judging from the comments I get dealing with the wii or ps2, it's just as frustrating as u said about pc. Lol. Some people just have hard time with things like that. So u may be one to have lots of problems with this and would hate to add to ur frustrations. Lol

Ellinor U can have both. I have PS2,PS1,Wii,GameCube,Nes,SNES,and so on. Just about my whole collection of games I run off my HHD, except Atari and MAME. Going to invest in a 3Tb HHD here soon if Wii will read that big of HHD. lol

It's a Toshiba 1Tb portable usb hard drive.

scroeffie U use cue to pops program to convert ur games to vid file format and it should be placed in the pops folder then in ur game elf folder, rename ur elf file to whatever the game name. Ex: XXgamename.elf

scroeffie Start watching at 10:40 on how to convert ur game.

Benderman 115 When u downloaded the game, what files did u have cause u might have a bad download.

BestTwitchMusic Just make sure ur elf file is named correctly. It has to be spelled out exactly like ur vcd file in the pops folder but with ( XX.) in front of the elf file game name.

Bobby8451 It is exactly like the VCD file still showing memory card configuration instead of loading the game.

What version of uLaunchELF are you using I am using the latest one is that maybe why it does not launch the ELF game file even though I have named it correctly with the double XX it still goes to memory card configuration.

BestTwitchMusic I'm using uLaunch v4.39. I'm not understanding why it does that. I haven't had that problem. Do all ur game's do that?

Ok I solved the issue, I was using a laptop HDD using SATA to USB which uses its own power source. The PS1 emulator cannot read the laptop HDD because it's based on a SATA connection type instead you need to use one those standard USB external HDD which I had. I used a Western Digital 1 TB External HDD which uses the native power from the PS2 to power it which also makes the TV screen very sharp and clear. If you use a SATA to USB you will notice on games it won't be as sharp or clear on TV, believe it or not PS2 games on the SATA to USB HDD worked fine but the PS1 games just would not load. Doing these experiments I have found that you need to use something that is only USB and can use the native power from the PS2 for the best performance and clear TV picture.

I use a 1Tb hhd. U should be good.

Hey @Mike P are you by any chance still looking for a resolution for 64 GB USB stick? If so I just solved my issue, sounds same as yours. I'm using a 64 GB lexar USB stick and I was using Official Sony ps2 component cables. To get a max resolution out of ps2 games in opl. But when I tried this I got the same issue. It would load and play the PlayStation logo and music and then black screen after Loading the game ELF file and it was saying Unsupported Mode on my HDTV. So I thought for afew minutes and guessed maybe if I switched out my component cables and put in the regular ps2 cable, red yellow and while cables end, the AUX cable. But anyways it works now and I'm playing Gex right now. Runs smoothly so far. I'll try add more games but hope you can see this and hope it can help, if not cool maybe I can help others with this same issue under a 64 GB USB stick and a black screen after loading the ELF file. Be patient as well. Takes a little bit of time to load from the 64 GB USB stick and I hope I can help someone at least

Hey where did u download that game from? Emuparadise, The ISO Zone or where?, so I can use the same files and try later when I get home.

Well for now I have bad news, I can't get it to work for nothing. I tried USA, Europe, Japan, different programs in creating bin and cue file, even downloaded one from Pirate Bay. No luck yet. Comments on Pirate Bay says 1 and 2 works and some say they can't get 2 to work. I've never run into this so far until now but I'll continue to try to figure it out. I heard it was a good game better than Resident Evil actually.

Da Ghetto Nerdiicus If I'm not mistaken I do have a multiple disc game and the process is the same, it will just put the other discs in same folder, or I maybe thinking about gamecube. I'll have to check, if u want just do this process for the second disc and see where it puts it.

Da Ghetto Nerdiicus So I just checked and it does install both discs or 3 if u have those. They will show up with game name and disc 1, 2 and 3 in parentheses. I just never got far enough yet to swap discs. Lol

No, it's a Toshiba 1Tb portable hard-drive. I don't see why you couldn't use one with external power if that's all you have.

+Laurence Figg Yeah it powers it up no problem, even a 2Tb hard-drive. But the PS2 won't read anything over 1Tb. It wouldn't work for me anyway.

BestTwitchMusic The folders that contain the vital memory files are created once u load the game up for the first time. John Smith No unfortunately they dont. If they do I would think they'd run very slow. The only emulator I know of is Riecast on android and it run OK but still has a lot of bugs.

No, windows does not see my hdd after i formatted it with winhiip as os 48bit. Isn't that the only way ps2 can see your hdd is to format it via winhiip? I super confused.

I think the confusion is i'm talking about an internal HDD and you're referring to an external USB HDD. I found another video that shows us how to create a partition on the internal HDD and then be able to use a psf tool to mount the HDD and copy over games from there. Anyhow, i finally got it all working but do you know how to change resolution in popstarter etc. ?

Bobby8451 I try to boot my games with the .elf fine I name it the same as the .vcd I have all the files in the right location on my usb hear is how I name my games like I try Twisted Metal 1 before I name it like this XX.TM.Elf and TM.VCD

marius gamer1326 I don't know if there's a way to troubleshoot whether or not if it could be the elf or pops. If u followed this tutorial very closely and it's not working, just try another game and see if it's the game ur working with.
