The network audio quality here is better than it was in most of the country, as most stations got network audio over the phone lines until about 1978.

Thank you for transporting my ears back to the 5th grade, 2 years before I got an audio recorder of my own (January 1976) and began taping TV programs myself!

Among the V/O's of note: CBS's Pat Connell at the end of the "Apple's Way" promos, over the "All in the Family" and "Apple's Way" end credits and after the "Calucci's Dept." promo, also following Ted Knight over the "Mary Tyler Moore" end credits; CBS's Bob Hite over "The Waltons" end credits; and CBS's Dave Campbell on "The Marcus-Nelson Murders" open. (Will try to find out who's at the end of the "Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour" promo.)

That's veteran "Jeopardy!" announcer Johnny Gilbert announcing "The Joker's Wild".

That music at 13:20 was used in the 1974 spoof movie "The Groove Tube". Funny to hear it used straight-forward here.

That was John Barry's "007" from the original soundtrack "From Russia With Love." Sister stations KWY and WJZ also played that theme during this time frame as well.

At 11:48, there's an interesting 30 second "program" that NBC featured at the beginning of its prime-time schedule each evening during this period (1973-'74): "What's On Tonight?", fetauring Sharon Obeck describing what was coming up on the evening's line-up, with a special notation about one of those programs. This audio recording is one of the few existing examples of "What's On Tonight?".

CBS continues to use their "time signal" on radio, every hour on the hour, just before "CBS NEWS ON THE HOUR".

Man that 1973 WCVB theme was the opening music used on the Bob Stewart game show Jackpot.

The date of the "What's On Tonight?" telecast was January 25, 1974, as the "LOTSA LUCK" episode Sharon described- "The Talent Show", with Stanley {Dom DeLuise} as an amateur magician- aired that evening.
