Never knew that the company behind The Outer Limits also made Stoney Burke. Also, He & She was made by the studios behind Get Smart. Thanks for the memories, FredFlix. Also for the Night Gallery jump scare...😱
I remember as a kid of about 10 or 11 years old being somewhat shocked to learn that the theme song to The Bill Cosby Show actually had a name: "Hikky-Burr." Especially considering the lyrics were mostly gibberish. Thanks Fred!
Wow! You managed to find some very rare shows in this one! I think Run For Your Life, and Mork and Mindy are the only two tv shows I ever watched in all of these. I love all these older black & white ones with the main sponsor as an integral part of the end credits.
5:30- "'MY LIVING DOLL' has been brought to you by........." **footage of 1940's tobacco auctioneer chanting at auction....** "'THE AMERICAN TOBACCO COMPANY, on behalf of *PALL MALL FAMOUS CIGARETTES!"* **Auctioneer finishes chant with "SOLD, AMERICAN!"**
Do you remember The Dana Carvey Show, and how the theme song used sponsors as heavily as they did during the "golden age of television" except that the theme song openly called them "our corporate whore?" I thought that was funny.
Thanks for including game shows this time, Fred! 1:45 - Conway & MacLane wrote a huge number, if not a majority, of the scripts for LEAVE IT TO BEAVER. 15:30 - I read recently that Groucho's grandson is responsible for saving his grandfather's films, making the show available to current & future generations. 19:18 - This disclaimer basically states that all acts by real contestants are judged & never gonged, so no one had to face what poor Eunice did on the show.
They played a song called For Pete’s Sake at the end of a lot of Monkes episodes. I loved that song. It was featured in an earlier xilFderF episode in this series. (*In this generation. In this lovin’ time. We will make the World shine.)
@@xyrzmxyzptlk1186 I was surprised that Colgems never issued that song as a single. As it was, it was a track on their third album, Headquarters, but it got lots of exposure as the closing credits theme. That was the only Monkees album to not have a single issued from it.
Most episodes are on YT, Gregg. They had exceptional fight sequences and great music by Dominic Frontiere. The opening theme is a classic, though obscure. It was my favorite show when I was 15. They could have done more with the science fiction elements. Instead, it was mostly a chase show.
I loved Jerry Fielding’s theme to “Bridget Loves Bernie” and had a slight crush on Meredith Baxter-Birney (not like my crushes on Raquel Welch or Shelley Fabares or Sally Field). However, it makes me genuinely sad know what was REALLY going on in her marriage to David Birney (allegedly)…who could’ve guessed? 😢
4:14- "This is Bill Baldwin, speaking." 5:08- ""THE BOB CUMMINGS SHOW' has been brought to you by *WINSTON!* The easy-drawing filter cigarette that really TASTES like a cigarette should!" BOB: "Yes, friends, Winston tastes *GOOD* ....like a cigarette should!"
Winston was likely the cigarette recommended by 4 out of 5 Doctors at the time…or was it Viceroy? I can’t remember but what a different and almost alien time period it was. Thank you xilFderF and your working Time Machine. ⏰💫
