In every great play, film and dramatic performance The Ending underscores the level of excellence of that presentation. This post ended with Gumby. Making this one of the greatest posts of all!
I must say that, after 9 great episodes in this series, I doubted they could be enough memorable tv shows left to do to a 10th episodes, but you proved me wrong Fred! The westerns are a favorite genre of mine and I was spoiled with so many good ones in this video. This being said, The Odd Couple wins my top favorite tv pick in the video. This was such a fun show with a very funny and talented cast. Thank you Fred for all the good work you've done for this very enjoyable series.
4:40 _The Bold Ones_ was an umbrella title for a varying number of shows produced by Universal Studios in the same time slot. These ending credits are actually from _The Bold Ones: The Lawyers_ that starred Burl Ives and ran from 1969-72. Other shows were _The Bold Ones: The New Doctors_ from 1969-73, _The Bold Ones: The Protectors_ that starred Leslie Nielsen (Yeah, *that* Leslie Nielsen) playing a conservative, tough as nails police Lieutenant from 1969-70 and _The Bold Ones: The Senator_ that starred Hal Holbrook and ran from 1969-1970.
As stated earlier, Ken, YT won't let me run all the ones I want. Then there's the problem of finding the themes. Plus there are some end themes that are exactly like the openings, so I've been reluctant to run many of those. Finally, some themes I simply don't like. Most of those are post-1980. Having said all that, there may indeed be another volume.
Thank you for the herculean effort involved in putting together this great video series. I can't wait to see what comes next from your fertile imagination. This one was phenomenal.
I never realized that Nillson did the theme to The Courtship of Eddie's Father. The Everly Bros on Shindig plus Sam Cooke, OJ Simpson... So many unexpected gems here. The world we lived in sure seemed like a much more innocent place. Oh, and Lance Link, Secret Chimp! 🤗🙉 Thanks Fred Flix 💖
The Lettermen were so good... I had the privilege of seeing them in concert a few times. That was an excellent song "Worlds" Rookies was an excellent show...what a theme.
Thank you so much for this series. It brought back memories of many favorite shows. I happen to remember that episode of the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour. Anytime you could have Glen Campbell, Linda Ronstadt, and Neil Diamond on the same stage would be amazing.
I love Shindigs closing. It's too bad the show didn't last too long. I liked all the rest, too. The old TV westerns which I never missed. I could go on and on.... I never miss your videos Fred. My sincere thanks and appreciation. 💯💯💯
Ha! (But I guess in actuality the 21st Century did NOT occur naturally. We named it thus. The natural world doesn't care what century this is. OK, I'm over-thinking it.....
One of the shows was listed in the credits as being owned by Blockbuster. How times have changed. Had no idea that the music for The High Chaparral was done by Maurice Jarre and Bernard Hermann.
That was DAN AUGUST starring Burt Reynolds and Norman Fell. The show lasted for one season on ABC (1970 - 71). It later aired in repeats on CBS during the summer of 1973 and 75.The series was executive produced by Quinn Martin .
I loved this! hope you plan another real soon, and I love how you placed it. a separate one for sitcoms, westerns, cartoons, game shows, variety shows etc. I hope you do a compilation for 70’s to early 2k. this was fun! you have a sub on your hands.
Okay, fess up, did anybody else besides me just now sing along to "The Courtship of Eddie's Father"?! What show is that @11:09? That shot from 16:41-16:49...WITHOUT A DRONE! 😉On Shingding was that Sam Cooke singing with the Everly Brothers? That was a smash; what a way to end the show! I really dug that Dan August sound and that Plymouth car at the end...Bee-Utee (Beauty)!👌🏼Lancelot Link, perfect for a Saturday, it doth bringth out the little kid in me!!!👍🏻😁
@@FredFlixCheers, and...THANKS for the memories! Fred, will you consider doing a livestream 30min to hour on a weekend where we might have a chance to interact with you and each other over the content you create as it's playing? Unless I'm missing that now...
Sure, Gregg. Originally, I wasn't going to include end themes that were identical to the openers. But now all bets are off as I prepare yet another volume.
I never saw 'The Courtship of Eddie's Father ', I'm pretty sure l woud probably like it, I only new Bill Bixby🤩 from 'The Incredible Hulk', which was first in the Friday night line up, followed by 'The Dukes of Hazzard ' in which I first saw Sorrel Booked in, but have never seen T.H.E. cat. I loved watching 'The Lucy Show ' reruns growing up. Great as always, thanks Fred! 😀
Thanks again, Fred! 0:12 - This is the only show that I recall using "was" instead of "as" connecting an actor to a character name. I guess these actors became these characters, at least for half an hour. 0:52 - Wow! The Everly Brothers with Sam Cooke. This had to be from fall 1964, as Sam died tragically that December. 13:52 - Ah, yes! Felix & Oscar on PASSWORD! Aristophenes anyone? 15:13 - I thought the HIGH CHAPPERRAL had a fantastic theme song. David Rose wrote it, along with themes for LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE and the great BONANZA theme for Seasons 12 & 13. I hope you can include that BONANZA theme on a future video.
You have done a great job with all the volumes of closing themes. This one was fun as I remember Shindig as a kid but the funny one was OJ on Lucy Show. That was really funny. I also enjoyed the Steve Allen Show great writing and skits.
Oh, Fred. Tudo isso era de um tempo em que a gente só queria ser feliz. Eu sinto saudades de como as histórias eram boas, os personagens ensinavam e divertiam. Obrigada por compartilhar conosco!
Well, Fred... Dig, dig Shindig! 💕 Then along came Johnny Ringo to the nearby of "the town too tough to die". No Broken Arrow nor Combat! at The High Chaparral, please. 🙊 Sorry. Looking forward to another volume. Thank you. 💜🤟
He appeared early in Lucy's final season of HERE'S LUCY. Desi, Jr. had already left after Season 3, and Lucie said she was ready to leave after Season 6. After Season 5 Lucy wanted to quit, but Fred Silverman got her to do 1 more season.
@@brendajeanproffitt6919 Happy birthday, Brenda. Though I don't have a video scheduled until Monday, maybe I'll post it at 11:59 p.m. Sunday so it'll still be your birthday for one minute.
I don't know if you ever seen a TV western in the sixties, I do not know the name of it, but it was produced by a production company that had an old, evil looking woman as part of its logo, played by an actress or model.
@@FredFlix Must have been a dream during my childhood, I watched a lot of television at the time, I also had one that was animated and in black and white, a Japanese man wearing a chef's uniform was dancing a jig next to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, with a pineapple on his right side, and a cauldron on his left side.
@@tracymurray6840 You HAVE been dreaming! As for me, I'm looking for a Western series in which the main character roamed with a dog, whom he never touched or fed.
It's a shame that the young folks of today only remember Bob Barker as the host of _The Price is Right._ He really shined on _Truth or Consequences,_ so much so that I cannot even recall the name of the guy who replaced him because it just went so bland that it became unwatchable.
