Watching this repair gave me anxiety but, after seeing it done made me realize my potential as a computer/phone repair tech. Thanks a bunch for all the knowledge Tampatec!
By marking each bracket with a marker pen will make the reassembling easier. You done well, extra careful and tenderness and also bear in mind you have a glass screen that is so fragile.thanks from Malaysia.
Were was i all this time..honestly Man av learnt a lot from U.. Absolutely glad to be 🔒 to this Channel.. Great Videos..👏👏👍Keep up with the great work. I truly appreciate 🙏
I had 1 Led (not strip) on my 23 inch Samsung tv burn out and it turned off the bottom half of all the LED strips. I was able to dismantle my tv and found the faulty LED, I took off the LED and bridged it and is now working a treat. I only learnt how to do this thru this channel. Thank You Tampatec
I check my comments once a day, note if you remove the bad LED and just Bridge and not replace that LED that can cause other LEDs on that strip to have shorter life, been there.
Very helpful video. As advised I used a heat gun to remove the LED strips however the heat required was too much for the folded back reflector sheet and it distorted badly. I managed to repair it using masses of double sided tape and white duck tape however if I had to do the job again I'd cut around the posts with a sharp knife to release the reflector sheet before removing the LED strips. Once they are replaced I'd use a small amount of glue or double sided tape to fix the reflector sheet down again around the posts.
Thanks a lot for the helpful videos. I'm trying to diagnose a 65" Hisense that has a dark area in the middle and is dim across the entire screen. It's fully functional otherwise. I'm assuming a few bad LED's to be the problem? I had to play a solid white video to even find the dark spots. What do you think?
Sir , I love Your patience and Your skill on these TV. I am thinking part of the LED Bulbs are out on my Sharpe LC-50LB261U Screen. I have a dark line about 6 inches wide up the Middle of the Screen. Can this be fixed of should I just replace the TV?
The backlight reflector can be removed completely to give the technician access to all the led strips. There is no need to cut into it. Over time the cut edges curl upwards due to heat giving rise to very irritating dark patches in the pictures displayed.
Could do with some advice on basic tool kit too undertake the task. 1 year old tv done black screen ..this vid helped me. An am assuming it's the backlight. As l still have audio.. hope so. It's a curved 55, so a bit freaked out at the moment...any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for nice video about fixing LG TV. But instead of replacing all the LED, how about finding just the one or two burned out LED and desolder/resolder discrete replacement LED individually?
Thanks much, very informative video. Dealing with a black screen of death myself now with my Hisense TV. I never knew that LEDs were like Christmas lights...one goes out, they all go out.....WTH?.....lol
Do you have any insight into the same repair for a Toshiba LED TV or would it be similar to this? Also, are the LED strips the same across manufacturers?
Since many of the backlights seemed go out at once wouldn't one ask why they are going bad at once. What is causing this? How to prevent it from happening again. Great video.
@@TampaTec It would seem that there could be a problem with the power board that supplies power to these lights or it is a poor design. How come on other sets one can turn the brightness up and never have a problem with the backlights. I guess we will never know.
Hi. At 13:00, why did you have to use a razor to cut it open? Why not lift up the sheet as you did with the other LEDs? And what voltage are you looking for on the LED tester to show that it's actually good? Thnx.
Thank you for this phases to change backlight. This tv is 32" or 42" ,a question, if I found one bad led in one strip is better to change all led stripes?
If you are into a machine so far with the risk of damaging thr panel, i would always change the complete led array because if one is defect more are coming is the experience
2008 LG mdl 32LG70UA SERIAL# 812MXWE1C057 Has power & audio. After cutting it off & on multiple times I got a great picture. After I turned it off it took days before I could get it back on. Left it on a couple of days before turning it off. Haven't been able to get a picture since then. Still has power & audio. Even the previously set on timer cuts it on at the specified time & volume but with no picture.
My 2017 LG 65 does the same thing resets help I can see the picture with a flashlight once it's on it seems to go on and off very easily but then overnight I'm not sure he'll come back on would have to click it four or five times sound comes in nice
I have a 55" RCA model RTU5540-B. The screen stopped working but the TV turns on and off and has sound. I can also see the image when I use my phone flashlight pushed up against the front screen. Should I start with replacing the LED strips?
Hey Tampatec. I have a Westinghouse LD-4258. The screen has recently started randomly and intermittently going black for a few seconds then returning to image. No issues with sound. I have not opened it yet. What are your thoughts? Anything specific I should try to focus on?
Good Morning Tampatech i have the same tv but the 32" model 32NL5100 and i have the same problem i tried contacting shopjimmys i made contact but they told me they did not carry the led strips for that model is there any other source where i can purchase the led strips for that model thanks for your help.
I have a Vizio XVT323SV ; The power blinks for a minute and the TV comes on. Satellite works great, but when I use input TV -search for channels the scan found no channels. There is the power board, pc-board, and the logic board. I believe the logic needs replacing. Can I get your advice?
i successfully repaired my tvs backlight with brand new strips. now it works but the sceen isnt the same it has like diamond shapes all over it where you can see and count each individual led especially on a white background on a dark background its hard to see unless your trying. i used the cut the strips out of the reflector sheet method following your vid. im so confused as to whats causing this the strips i replaced are the same part number as new ones but the ver was 3.2 on new ones old ones where ver4.0 is this why?
I have a Polaroid 4k TV that's over 7 years old and hasn't given me any trouble until now. I woke up this morning to a black screen. The power light was on and it was green, indicating the TV was on and the connected sound bar had audio. I turned the TV off and on again and I once again had a picture, but it went black again after a period of time. It's now been doing this off and on all day and sometimes when I touch the side of the screen it goes black. I shined a flashlight on the screen and there is a picture on the screen when it goes black. What's going on here?
Im repairing a Vizio 47 inch Tv SV470XVT1A good picture no sound both main board and daughter board has bad caps so i have new boards on order they are on the way ill make a video of the tv to show you
Hi. Can you pleaseeeee tell me what I need to do if half of my screen is black BUT still visible. Could this be the light? Or something else?? Thank you!
Short as possible: Vizio E321VT, black screen, stndby yellow lite on (yellow lite remains on all times), on/off switch does nothing no picture with flashlight, voltages on pwr board connector to mainboard 5/12 ok, on/off pin show 64.5v DC. Was told the 64v has ruined the mainboard. This set only has (2) boards: pwr and main. Any ideas before I just start replacing boards?
So i have a LG 55uh6090-uf that wont power on and no status indicator light. First i replaced the power supply board with no luck, then replaced the main board with no luck. Still have no power or indicator light. Is there anything else that could be leading towards this issue?
My Philips 52 in tv has no picture. It is a: Model # 52pfl5704d. It was in storage for a while and when I turned it on it has power (the light comes on), and back lighting. I can see it from the back with the cover removed. I have checked out a few of your videos, and they all lean to the T-con board. The part number for it is: RUNTK4107TPZA Philips T-Con Board. I can’t find any in stock, but found someone on eBay that says they test and fix them. I am not sure its the board. Any suggestions to verify the board is the culprit?
Hi my name is Robert Davey I have a question about my LG 47 LA 6200 VA of it was given to me I know nothing about it they said it just went out I brought it home luxury and checking things out on it it turned on showed the LG sine When I went to shut it off I just got a white quick Flash I did the flashlight test and I got to the menu I got the sound to come up I tried to brightness course we didn't do anything I could do the color the tent and stuff like that can you tell me what it could be exactly
Hi, Hopefully you can provide some input. I have the same scenario with a RCA, sound and picture(without backlight) are working. However all went at once, but your LG had just the middle strip actually gone. In my case will all strips need replacing or is the problem somewhere in the boards. Thanks.
Hey I’m having issues on a Samsung 75”. Backlight comes on. Then tv goes on and off. Just replaced the main board still same issue. Any troubleshooting I can do?
You said board on sides only produce the image so when my tv was switching off and on its self and buzzing fix the middle board also had the power part at bottom replaced
Hey, I have a question about the same symptom but on a Panasonic viera high definition plasma television I get a picture but no lights it's model# is TH-50PZ80U Serial# LD82520061 I can't find any videos on here talks about it? Can you point me in the right direction to start?
I have a Sony Bravia KDL 46EX500, turn power on and the green light comes on but no A/V. No logo comes up and its locked up after that. Can't shut it off with power button. It has done this several times over the past month and I could unplug it and plug it back in to fix it. If I unplug it and plug it back in it will go to red standby, I turn it on and the same thing, green light on no A/V, locked up. Any ideas?
I tryed looking for a picture in the dark and didn’t show one but when I power on it makes a peeping noise and then turns on with no picture any suggestions?
It started with no picture, just sound. After watching your video I replaced the LED lights and the T-Con Board and still no picture. Now, watching another video of yours, I'm going with the main board. I'm almost there.
I agree.....I own a electronic repair company in Va Beach and I have been repairing TVs since 1969. We always replace ALL of the LED strips because if you don't you will finding yourself with an increase in recalls. Trust me! Pauls a good tech, but I am surprised that he would do this jerry rigged approach in repairing LED TVs. Particularly since the price of new LED strips run $50-$70 from Shop Jimmy and $30-$50 if you go directly to China.
Just showing alternative ways, in another video I removed all the boards to remove push pins that locked in led backlight cover, no need to cut. However This way Saves time.
My 8 year old Samsung TV got the BSOD. Black screen for a couple seconds, though never lost audio. It eventually got to the point where the screen was permanently dimmed so much that it was unwatchable. Same fix for a Samsung? Btw, FLY EAGLES FLY!!
There's locked pins holding the backlight cover in the middle, I had to remove tv boards to unlock them, this is alternative way. I made few videos showing different ways.
The Inner Paper That The LEDs Polk Through Isn't Too Hard To Remove You Didn't Have To Cut Across To Remove One Of The Led Strips. Just Watch Bigdogs Video On It.
I watched a video from you you stated my problem was on on tbe middle psu board then i pay 95pound to be told its the ysus board thats suposed to be 60 pound the tv is off in the bin . Adios too you
🤔 ysus? You mean Y sustain board then you have a different tv a plasma TV. Why did You pay 95pd to a TV shop for no repair? Repair Estimate is usually free or cheaper than 50.
@@TampaTec i payed for a new board instead and Ysus is the name of other board but theres a chance it would happen again due to probles with buffer chips or coil and xboard? The other board is also 90 but from america or 16 pound mos chips but i dont have the heat blower thing. Im sorry just vented, i will listen to you more carefull.
I had to remove the tv boards to remove the pins that locked in the backlight cover. I wanted to make a video with less steps. I have another video showing the other ways.
Do you actually read all your comments? I would say you do not. Ignoring a compliment shows you not read all comments. At least acknowledge the viewers that take the time to watch, comment and appreciate the video's you do and support you.
I check my comments once a day, I don't owe anyone free tech support but I give free tech support because I enjoy helping people and do that out of kindness not obligation.
