I used a basic tune for that configuration. Then I ran auto tune a few times in different conditions to get it closer. Once that was good I made a couple small changes to clean up the map and smooth out spikes.
Hi love the videos, how have the TW555 cams performed? Have a 2007 softail standard fxst with VH 2 into 1 big radious pipe and VH air cleaner with FP3 tuner. Am wanting to do the cams and thinking of putting the 555 in. I ride to up most of the time, cheers from New Zealand
Thanks for checking out the videos. The cams are pretty good. I’ve installed a few sets of these. They will perform real well with your two into one pipe. I lose a little bottom end with the duals.
What kind of seat is that? I want something like that. I don't care for the back rest setup like my bike has. I've got the 2010 Harley Davidson Softail Custom. Virtually identical.
I have a 2000 FLSTC twin cam 88. I love the bike, but the power is half of what I'm used to. I feel like I'm on a moped. If I had known getting more power out of an 88 was so expensive, I would have gotten another bike. I want something with enough power to scare the hell out of me.
I'm in the same position. Literally was debating on trading my bike in but I decided two days ago to just enjoy it and make it my own. I'm actually in the process of buying a 510 lift cam, changing the oil plate, tensioners, pump, lifters and just enjoy the ride until I'm ready do upgrade down the line. Everyone says the 88 engine is bulletproof so I'm going to stay away from engine work. Embrace the 88 and just save up for the 114 or 117 a year or two for now, maybe even longer!
Have you put some better heads on it ? That will really get max benefit from those 555's . You'll feel it immediately ! Such a sexy design the fxst especially with those big radius . ; ) I have an 02 softail springer with them .
I haven’t swapped the heads out on this one yet. I have done other builds with the 555s and heads. It does help. I intend on doing a lot more than just heads on this one.
@@mayhempowersports3548 nice ! Let me know what you do and the results. I'm putting the S&S 100" kit on my 88b , and definately a stronger clutch lol .
Morfeo Phantasm How much more benefit? Better flow and a compression bump will net more hp and/or torque? Looking to do exactly this on a stock 96" Rocker C. 2 into 2 Freedom pipes and K&N filter.
@@parkeslife4323 yes absolutely more torque and hp . Increasing displacement the engine cant help but make more power . Then putting better heads with more flow rate adds even more . It'll feel like another bike . Also be sure to pick cam or cams that make best use of everything and fit your riding style i.e. what rpm range you like to use the most . Plus when you increase compression the engine hits harder and sounds even more visceral ; ) also a 2 into 1 pipe will net more torque and hp but if your like me I don't mind slight drop in the numbers for the looks of 2 into 2 . In my case the V&H big radius pipes. Be sure to get a good tune from well experienced tuner after your modifications as well . Sounds like your going to have a great running bike .
@@morfeophantasm7435 thanks for the reply. I'm from Australia so every man and his dog has has V&H Big Radius on Rockers here. I know 2 into 1's make more torque, but I'm not a fan of the look. So I figured if I'm pulling it down for cams I may as well get the heads flowed and skimmed. I'd rather keep it a 96" as they don't run as hot as a 103/110. But more compression will heat things up a bit. Was looking at the Woods 555 as they seem well balanced between TQ and HP. I'm more of a torque rider, but with more flow and squish along with 2 into 2 pipes that'll open up the top a bit. Starter motor/ hot start issues? Say 10:1 comp on this cam. I'm shooting for 105hp and 115tq. Best between 2,000 and 5,500 rpm.
Maybe they gave me a bad tune job after I had mine installed cuz although the Bike sounded awesome, it was also HOT on my right leg when I rode making the great sound just not worth it!
