Yes I will do videos with a playthrough, I might well wait and see if they drop a patch first though. PSVR 2 has already had a patch, PCVR because I imported a save I'm not getting the new "Orphan" weapon. The release of this game has been frustrating to say the least!
I didn't want to give away the story, so avoided the mission location. Having watched the recording back, casting from the Q2 doesn't do the PCVR graphics justice at all. So I might well do direct capture from the game window, people will have to put up with my head movement in the playthrough. I'll give it a go with the Rift S and see if I prefer using that over the Q2 too.
No I didn't dude. Apparently there's an issue on PCVR, if you import a save it doesn't add the Orphan blueprint to the crafting bench. I am actually pretty disappointed with the state the developers have released this game in. PC release was delayed a month and we still have issues, I know they are working on another game but still.
I guess I sort of agree that this isn't quite a full new game, but I also disagree somewhat too. I get what you're saying that they re-use a lot of the original areas, but I look at it as a new game set in the same universe. It's got all new characters, some highly detailed new areas, new weapons, and a completely new story that is a nice continuation from the original. I guess it's more like a new season in a TV series rather than a spin-off. You're still getting a lot of content for the price, and I'm sure they can turn out content a lot faster doing it this way than developing an entirely new game from scratch. If they even do develop an entirely new game in this universe with a new engine I hope the initial task list looks like this: Task List ======= 1. MULTIPLAYER
I have to say that so people set their expectations accordingly Dave. If you want to do the TV analogy this is more like a 2nd episode rather than a 2nd season, the TWD TV show they would move to different new locations generally speaking from season to season. Me calling it a stand alone expansion pack I think is a fair assessment of what this "new game" is. I honestly think Retribution will have done a lot of damage to the Devs reputation. Had it been revealed as a stand alone expansion people would have still been excited for more content. Many people are disappointed in what this is, expecting a proper new game experience. The plethora of bugs and issues can't be overlooked either, how this was allowed "out the door" in the state it's in is beyond me.
Sorry if i didn't hear know you said this in the video, but what is your quest 2 resolution for gameplay? just wondering so that i can know whether or not i can squeeze out some more stuff out of my system. thank you
Rendering Resoltion = 5408 x 2736. I didn't say it in the video just that the slider in the Oculus PC software should be all the way over to the right, the multipler changes depending on the refresh rate set IIRC.
TWD presents it's narrative far better than into the radius, but now it's gunplay has become dated vs other games, definitely vs into the radius. Environments are way better in TWD, from what I understand ITR 1.0 had the bigger environments in general. ITR are really big but a bit empty, I think it was to fit the story but mainly for technical reasons. I agree this game is more of dlc than anything. I was upset because I set my expectations as if it would be a new game
Half life: Alyx also does narrative very well but they left out melee combat, when the crowbar is synonymous with the game that was a mistake. S&S has excellent melee and the gunplay although arcade like is still pretty good. I think we both agree they played it safe with Chapter 2, yes we get attachments for the firearms but they could have done more. I just wanted to mention ITR to let people know I had played it, sadly I just don't find it fun. I was literally playing on just to unlock stuff for content I could show in a video, not because I felt engaged or enjoyed the game.
@@Honosuseri Yea it was weird not being able to melee, especially since it was already done in other vr games. Valve really need to fund some of their best modders to continue Alyx content just like they are did with Black Mesa.
how did you manage to get into the game with the quest 2???? every time i tried to do the center yourself promt virtual desktop or my oculus dash would pop up?????
Haven't touched this game in a long time as it was full of bugs and issues. This is an old video so I don't know if updates to Virtual Desktop or the game have caused your issues.
Minimum spec for the game is an i5 4590 CPU that's only 4 cores/4 threads. CPU performance stagnated for ages so my i7 2600K overclocked kept up, it's got 4 cores/8 threads. GTX 1060 is listed as minimum spec GPU, my 1080Ti is much more powerful than that. Although I could upgrade this PC, keeping it in service helps others who are still running on older or more modest systems to know what they can expect.
