Man I imagine if Merle survived S3, he would of ended up as a Savior. Maybe being Negan's right hand man. I see those two personalities mixing well and Merle being a more loyal soldier than Simon.
I don't think Merle is truly loyal to anyoane but Daryl. I mean in the end Merle died for Daryl and Rick's group. He betrayed The Governor for them. I can see him betray Negan as well.
Merle was Broken and lost he was surrounded around shit people his whole life same as Daryl he may have been a ass but he never took to the point Negan or The Governor did with killing Glenn and Hershel he was never Evil
Could possibly do a long multiple long scene moments of random Rick grimes moments with maybe a few Rick and Tara Togther interaction scenes spread out randomly like either one on one or in a group setting with Rick and Tara interacting or Togther onscreen ? Also other random Rick scenes like Rick walking around with or meeting or dealing with other random groups. Or bieng alone, or bieng acting insane or crazy or killing. Like basically a cool variety of long Rick scenes for like a ten minute or so Rick video with the moments above. Maybe end the scene pack with someone beating up Rick or Rick getting shot by Jadis or someone else or injured......
