Thank you for keeping vintage bikes going. Please try to save more of them. We need to preserve the history.

Yeah, I've been trying to get my hands on the rockhopper of the same year. Got the 86, 87, 90, 91, 95, and 96 rockhoppers, sold my 92 and 93 'hoppers and a 1995 hardrrock

Dude you nailed it excellent recovery on the ergonomics, Plus thank you so much for leaving the paint and the original look of the bike it's incredible I could ride that all day

It's a good idea to place the lock ring on grips like that on the outside of the grip rather than the inside. If the underlaying plastic breaks there still something holding it on the bar. Plus it's (the lock ring) annoying under your hand when you're braking and shifting

Awesome! Just picked up a teal Hardrock frame today. Going to take notes from your build because that’s basically what I wanted to do but didn’t know where to start.

Watching here in the Scottish Highlands, I always find your videos relaxing and satisfying to watch, thank you! (To my untrained European ear, you sound a bit like a young Clint Eastwood, which makes the narratives entertaining in themselves! 😂)

every time i threaded a cable into a housing, the cable was greased and the housing was squirted with Tri-Flow after i cut the housing as short as i could i could feel the difference across thousands of tune-ups in seattle

awesome build!! i just bought an 90s mtb frame... so excited to restore it! what is the steam adapter you had on previously?
@DePuesshop
@DePuesshop 10 месяцев назад
There's several cheap stem adapters on Amazon that you could get. I prefer the ones that have a sharp shoulder so they don't look like an adapter.

I love the bike!! I had the red version of this bike, and I wanted to build it up and ride it, but the frame was a 20”. Way too big for me:(

Nice work! What stem is that? It's not mentioned in your list and it doesn't seem to be what was there before. Thanks.

That was a stem from my parts bin. I think it came off a Univega beach cruiser.

Hi, just curious why you don't lock down your vise; is it a space thing? That's my issue in that I don't have a place to really mount a vise; this has kept me from getting one up to this point. Thanks!
@DePuesshop
@DePuesshop Год назад
I'm limited on space for it. I keep meaning to mount it to a wood base and then clanp it to the bench but I keep putting it off.

Hi. I have the same problem with retro MTB frames. All of them are too small to me.

Hey man I like your channel I’ve been a subscriber for a bit , with that color bike in my opinion is totally 80’s I’d put bmx fork and gt bmx bars on it with checker bar and top tube pad, then it would be RAD 👍🏽

Another fine job. Do you have a favorite bike in your collection?

That's a hard question.....I have a few older builds that I still have and won't sell because I like them. Of all the builds that I have done on RU-vid, I would have to say the Gary Fisher Aquila that I recently did.

Love the bike! Is it hard swapping to a 1x? I have a 1994 Specialized hardrock I’d love to swap over. All the hubs I see are 135mm, not sure if those will fit these bikes or not.
@DePuesshop
@DePuesshop Год назад
I have another video showing how to swap a free hub to get more than 7 speeds. I did it on a Rockhopper. In this video, I actually swapped the wheelset and it worked ok.
