Hey All, my name is Todd, and I like to fix things and make them special... mostly old bikes. You never know what I may be working on, and more than likely, they become better than ever.
I'm not a professional bike mechanic, I'm just a guy who has a passion for bikes and loves to use my creativity to make unloved bikes loved again.
I've got a big GT All Terra Outpost Trail and a big GT Palomar, both vintage, that I'm in the process of restoring. They're both rigid forks though. I'm not a fan of shocks anywhere on my bikes. Call me old school. I like your Backwoods though. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
I'm not a fan of black bars, stems and seat posts but I actually love this bike. I feel like the upgrade fits the title perfectly. It's truly a statement piece. Excellent job!❤️
The upgrade is even MORE beautiful! I'm a sucker for white-walled tires. And I love aluminum or stainless steel over black. I love this Gary Fisher before AND after.❤️
Hey. Sweeet ride. Is that the original wheels and hubs you put on? Im looking at a Kaitai on Market and can find out if the original hubs are threaded or the "common these days" ones.
Hi from Germany Great Work. I wish i had your Skills Can you tell me, what is this for a Handelbar. I will buy such a nice and comfotable Handlebar for my old Giant Escaper. I think this would make it more Comfortable. Now i will watch all of your Videos from the Beginning. Pls more like this
Outstanding. I love the way my Gary Fisher 26" rides. I upgraded the cranks to Hollowtech II and the bike lost a pound or so. I would comment that SRAM sure does pedal better than Shimano in my humble opinion...but ain't cheap. Another option would have been 11-42 cassette and double cranks. Having a front derailleur has a cool retro look. Makes it nice for big transitions in terrain too.
Some of them, I give to friends and family and the other ones, I sell. Mostly, just to get back what I invested into the build. These are usually quite expensive to build.
@@DePuesshop Be really cool to get all your old builds and new owns together one day for a ride. Love to see that video and hear what the new owners think of the builds.
What a great build. Not too far over the top for me. So many new bikes today I can sum up in one word. drab! No idea why so many like drab colors like grey, for example. Paint them with more bling. I especially like the chrome seat tube, handlebars, etc. nowadays they paint it with thin coated black paint that scratches terribly. Great video. Fun to watch.
Really like the idea of putting the old BMX decals on a mountain bike frame. You can still clue in little rivet numbs on that front badge to fill the holes. Would have looked a little better if the brake pads and component were wire wheeled. Will be striping some BMX parts of the bikes my scrapper guy shows me. I give him a case of beer once in a month as a thanks. Plus I buy somewhat decent 26" bikes from him for 10$ which is 5 times what he gets for scrap.
I have one in storage. Got to take another look at it. From what I recall it was very weathered being left outside. Had rust and needs tires, cables, seat, grips and who knows what else. I picked it out of the garbage because it has a hint of being a big SE Quadangle
Curious about those Enix tires - I currently have GT Tires that have 60 PSI - the Enix are only 40 PSI. Seems like for big guys the more PSI the better but not sure....
I have one right now. All the origin of original, the only thing that's missing is the pump. It even has the brackets for the pumpand mine is in superb condition. No rust on it, mcfag, racers rims brake. Levers brakes different gears on a dog or not shimano. There's some kind of French. I love. This bike.I think it needs new bearings and stereo. But if someone could tell me what it's worth I'd be really interested. And if someone was to offer the right amount of money it would be for sale
