This Program contains a graphic battle between two male Stag Beetles and may be a little disturbing to some viewers. Stag Beetles have huge mandibles that are used in combat to wrestle and decide which beetle gets to keep the territory and the female. After the beetle war, the female and remaining male usually mate. Lucanus capreolus is the Reddish Brown Stag Beetle and they are pretty common, but watching a fight between two males can get pretty dramatic and intense. #nature #battleroyale #wildlife

This is an awesome video these creatures are absolutely extremely powerful... They are like little Ben Grimms.... If you pick them up be prepared for feeling something incredible power for such a small thing.... I used to collect these when I was younger around 10 or 12 years old the first time I was handling and the second time I was handling it literally bit right through my entire finger 😂 I shook my finger violently both times to get it off because it wasn't giving an inch.... Finally each time it let go I learned my lesson to pick them up behind and make sure to pay attention cuz they can arch their back and NAB you.... These are one of my favorite insects just an absolute beautiful specimen I actually have a massive one that I had encased in plastic resin by a guy that does that.... I have it on my Mantle Thanks for the video I really appreciate this 😊

I love that story. I mean it is a most disagreeable experience, but I love that you shared the story. I have yet to experience that. Some day, I have to. I saw one similar species when I lived in England and had never seen them until probably 15 years ago or something. To me, it is a lot like picking up crayfish, lol. I think my favorite insects are either fireflies or the entire ground of Hymenoptera. It varies now and then, but the Hymenoptera are definitely my favorite order.

Inverts don't play around when the bell sounds in the ring. Wild the loser came back for another go at it. Caught a centipede/scorpion fight a while back, that was wild!

OMG that is so true. Watching arachnids or centipedes fight are the most....intense and kind of unnerving, in a way.

I grew up with an entomologist on hand and I've found these miniscule fights so fascinating all my life! Tyfs 👍

I witnessed a combat between 2 male anoles, lizards. They would throw each other over by the jaw, like I think alligators do. This went on quite a while, but I inadvertently broke it up when I got too close with my camera. Each immediately ran in opposite directions.
