On August 27th and 28th 2022, Tweetsie Railroad hosted their annual Heritage Weekend event celebrating their 2 surviving narrow gauge steam locomotives. The event includes a photo special on Saturday, and a doubleheader on Sunday when the 2 locomotives pull the Wild West train together and split into their own consists on Sunday afternoon. This year was different from any other Heritage Weekend due to the surprise doubleheader and the addition of Coach 5 for the photo special.
A few noticeable changes to the railroad include freshly painted black smoke boxes on 12 and 190, as well as a new Southern Railway styled paint job on Coach #5, featuring a green body with red window trim added with smaller vintage lettering. 190 wore her fixed Crosby 3 chime whistle and 12 sported her Baldwin 3 chime as usual.
