I feel like you guys should do a twenty one pilots series/playlist especially if you haven't seen any of their live performances, they are sone of the best live performers I've ever seen. Might I recommend, •Holding onto You Live at The Fox Theater •Trees Live at The Fox Theater Along with, •Car Radio music video •Ode to Sleep music video •Guns for Hands music video •Migraine music video followed by Migraine Performed in the Live Room There are of course hundreds of other fantastic songs from them, but this should at least get you started. Twenty One Pilots, or TØP for short, was started by Tyler Joseph with 2 of his friends in Columbus Ohio. They released one album, which was self titled, in 2009 before the other 2 left because of family and other personal reasons. Tyler and Josh Dun had met at a venue after being introduced to each other by one of the original members of the band, and they quickly connected and became best friends, and Josh was the first one Tyler asked to fill the spots left by the other two members. It's been just the two of them ever since. Their first album together, Regional at Best, released in 2011, is not available anywhere except RU-vid, as after it was released they signed with the record label Fueled By Ramen and redid about half the songs from that album for their next one Vessel, which was released in 2013. This is when they first started to gain some real traction outside of Ohio. The album focuses a lot on themes of mental health, suicide, depression, death, and how day and night can affect our moods. It's my favorite album of all time, with Migraine being my favorite song ever. In 2015 came the big blowup in popularity with their album Blurryface. Stressed Out reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won them a Grammy, and Ride hit #5. They went on 2 worldwide tours for this album. Blurryface is a character Tyler created to represent all of his depression, insecurities, anxieties, etc. and each song deals with some of those things. Their big tour ended in 2016 and the guys went on a very long hiatus, with no social media presence, no new music, etc. Before the hiatus they were asked by DC to make a song for the Suicide Squad movie, and they came up with Heathens, which is Tyler kind of roasting his fans, who were pretty toxic at the time. It fits right along with the Suicide Squad movie though. Tyler said that he submitted this and if the studio didn't like it then they would have just put this on their next album. This hit number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 I believe and I think they were nominated for a Grammy for it. In 2018 they released their album Trench. It's a concept album about a place called Trench with a city called Dema, where bishops control the people and make them feel depressed. The album is about trying to escape Dema, which is a metaphor for beating our own thoughts. It continues the story of Blurryface as well. The guys also released 2 singles in 2020 not connected to any albums: Level of Concern, a song about the state of the world and quarantine, and Christmas Saves the Year, which is exactly what it sounds like. None of their songs sound even remotely the same. I believe Tyler is one of the greatest lyricists and songwriters of all time, what he can do with words is amazing. Some of my favorites I'd love for you to check out are Migraine, The Judge, Morph, Chlorine, Guns for Hands, Addict With a Pen, Kitchen Sink, and anything else!

Tyler did paint his hands and neck black during the Blurryface era to cover up his insecurities in his writing and vocals Tyler does write all the music and play the instruments- Josh plays drums - Tyler will usually play the bass, guitar, piano, keyboard, ukulele, or something during the shows - depending on the song

Aw this was a great reaction. Y'all should check out a live performance! "Holding on to You" live at fox theater is probably my favorite but these guys are just unreal live, so much energy.

Their new material is quite different compared to previous. But the lore continues still. This song was for Tyler's little brother, he showed him the process of making a song, with this one.

Love finding some Aussies reacting to this 😄😄. This is a bit different to there usual stuff- there’s a whole convoluted back story that would take way to long to explain but there is a theory that they are being controlled by an organisation that is making them release ‘propaganda’ . I think this is a way for them to experiment away from their normal sound (not that they have a ‘normal’ 😆) Johnny I think you’d like some of their older stuff for sure. I noticed a bit of The Cure influence in there. Someone suggested the Mutemath sessions for you to check out - I really think you would appreciate those. Jealous if that jumper btw - turning freakin cold too quick😂😂

They have a backing track for the 'synth' stuff but Tyler will play the bass/ukelele/guitar/piano in the live shows. Though of course if a song has electric guitar AND bass, one of those two will have to be backing tracked.

This is a song made for Tyler's brother, as he is trying to pursue music. When you find that fact it makes SO MUCH MORE sense.

you should check out, The Free Lounge Daughters. They make great music. They just released a new album and it's so good. They are a producer band so no singing but the album is so good. you should really listen to it !
