This song is very unique song because Tyler produced the song in his basement and Josh made his own drum tracks himself and alone for the first time. Tyler's daughter Rosie (1 yo) cooed while he was making a voice memo, at first he was like oh no, but then he mixed her coo into the song (you can hear it in the start, in the background, it repeats as the goes forward, and is also heard in the end) This song was for Tyler's little brother Jay, who wanted to start his own music career. Tyler showed him the whole process with making this song. And I love Tyler's scream in the backing vocals.
in case you didn’t know this, this is also the first time josh has recorded, mixed and mastered his own drums by himself on a track before! because it was all recorded in his home studio he thought it would be an interesting solo project. that’s why they sound slightly lighter in this recording!
These drums are sequenced. Josh may have laid the base pattern down, but then must have taken one sample of each drum and heavily quantised it - it’s why it sounds perfectly in time
Dude I've listened to your Trench reaction so many time since you posted it. I can't tell you how fun it is to listen to someone spell out all this for music I love. Hopefully you're as excited for Scaled and Icy as I am :)!
Aaah I'm so happy that you did this, because I found your channel through your reaction to their last album Trench. Hope you will also react to their upcoming Album then!!
Love this and your breakdown of their album Trench, looking forward to seeing the extended explanation of this song. Would also love to see you react to and explain the production on one of their older albums like Blurryface or Vessel!
You haven't discovered Dimash and SoHyang yet!!! You absolutely have to react to them! You can check Dimash "Your Love" or "Olympico" . For SoHyang, you can check "Bridge over troubled water" or "Everyone"! Can't wait to see your reactions!!
I love this!! Next time, can you react to The Vamps new album Cherry Blossom? It's amazing! You're gonna love it for sure since you like Married In Vegas. Thank you! Hope you see this!
Hey @Blake McLain, you should defenitely check out the song 'Arcade' from Duncan Laurence. He won in 2019 Eurovision with this song. This is a song contest in Europe where artists from (almost) every country in Europe and Australia perform one original song. In the Grand Final a jury from each country, along with all the televoters at home (roughly 200m viewers) decide the best song. After Eurovision, Arcade has gone viral on TikTok and Duncan succeeded with his first time on the billboard Hot 100 (this week). His original version of Arcade is the most popular, but after the huge support from America he decided to record a duetversion with FLETCHER.
YOU GUYS "Been working on some full album reviews for next week including Demi Lovato and Madison Beer, but I need one more. Any suggestions? " THIS IS THE MOST RECENT TITLE ON BLAKE'S PATREON!!!
New sub. My husband went to college for production. He's not as big a fan as I am🤦😎there's already a good video on Easter Eggs in vid. You're going to like Choker too.
Would love love to see you react to Lennon Stella, she writes beautiful songs, has such a special musicality. also the production on her first album is so cool!
TOP really NEVER disappoints🔥can’t wait for Scaled and Icy! Btw I literally came here just for this video! I saw your reaction for the Trench Album too so I was waiting for this one lmao Oh and it’ll be cool for you to react to Cherry Blossom by The Vamps! It is really good! Pls go check it and react to it!!! x
Hey Blake, I would really appreciate it if you would react to Brent ii by Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler. The ep is pretty underrated but I really think that you would like it, it’s was so beautifully produced
You never did that full Weird! album by Yungblud breakdown, unless it is a Patreon exclusive. Also, if you worked with the boys back in the day, are you from Cbus?
can you react to varsity? i've been a hardcore tøp fan for ~5 years and i've come to this video after watching your whole trench reaction for the 2nd time, varsity gives you a vibe you really can't explain, but "refreshing" would be very fitting for it. tøp is still my favorite band/music producer by a very big margin like they always have been, but varsity is a really, REALLY strong 2nd for me. they're really underrated and i KNOW they have the potential to make it so i've been trying to share their stuff a lot. (alone in my principles is a really good one)
