What up Fable Squad! Twenty One Pilots - Chlorine REACTION Fable Instagram: @fablefil Instagram Link: fablefil?h... #TwentyOnePilots #Chlorine #FableReaction
Never heard of Twenty One Pilots until today. After listening to "Ride" and "Chlorine" I'm left almost speechless, and that is something rare indeed. What on earth did I just experience?
You're quite close. Also that's your first reaction , and you're not really into Tyler's lyrics , so yeah great analys. The most popular version that thousands of fans get after analysing : The song’s about their music and how it’s like chlorine. Chlorine, in small doses, cleans water and can even be healthy for you. Chlorine can be essential for survival in certain situation because it’s so good at cleaning water; however, the chemical is also poisonous and can kill you if you ingest too much. He is saying that his music is the same way to him. He needs it to survive (it’s a moneymaker, but also saves him psychologically and emotionally), but it can overtake him and kill him. “This beat is a chemical”. Without it, he would die. But too much of it can also kill and destroy him. Ned (this funny creature) represents Tyler's (singer) creativity. And they start filling up the pool, but ned is not satisfied until it is completely filled with chlorine (until song is close to perfect for Tyler ). Hope you remember my suggestion to react from their firs albums like Vessel ( ode to sleep as first song - would be perfect). Cuz that would be better to get all the growth they get in few years, you already noticed that this guys are really different , and you're absolutely right )
It’s about his struggles with writing, making beats is like chlorine, he’s getting addicted and at some point it becomes second nature to him as stated in “pet cheetah”, another song in trench. His struggle is to come back to us with new music that he has written that he finds worth sharing with us, which makes sense since they took a long break before dropping trench.
As a hardcore twenty one pilots fan, I love watching reaction videos such as these to see how they interpret and analyze the songs. You my friend did an amazing job! Subscribed and look forward to more of your videos on them!
YES YES The song is basically relating chlorine to his writing process and making music. In a way it’s sanitizing for him, like chlorine and helps him for the better. And when he says when I leave don’t save my seat he’s talking about breaks the pilots take in releasing music, hence “I’ll be back when it’s all complete.” Also the little gremlin thing is called Ned and he represents the fan base as a who going back to the chlorine because it helps us too. I’m surprised you got it after the first listen
The term, “creative process,” is a bit misleading. Although the sub-components do all fit into the over-arching theme of creativity, a more appropriate term would be, “Inspiration.” Inspiration cannot be forced, and yet you cannot press pause in a world stuck on play. Ned represents inspiration. The conditions must be just right for genuine inspiration to thrive. if it’s forced, it feels disingenuous. Having been a musician since the age of eight, and the front-man of various bands since the age of 12, including later touring the world for close to a decade with one group in particular...It’s quite clear to me what Tyler is dealing with here: The internal struggle to follow up on, and to deliver the next album without disappointing. There is now a whole host of new pressures, anxieties, and elements that are not natural to the creative processes. Inspiration can no longer come naturally. Tyler has pointed out before, that their first two albums were written without any real pressure. He was able to focus solely upon where his creative process led him, and never expected this level of fame. After the exponential growth of the Fanbase, only one more layer was added, the necessity to avoid letting down the fans. Once the official signing of the contract, the creative process could no longer be fluid and occur at a natural pace. There were deadlines to achieve, Massive financial investments in him to make good on, and the ever-present dichotomy that all successful artists face: How do I please everyone at the same time? How do I remain true and loyal to the core fan-base that got me here, and to myself, while also balancing all of these new challenges and expectations? It’s a struggle almost a century old now, in the artistic world. A few key terms to consider: Chlorine= this is about balance. Fame and success versus genuine and natural inspiration and creativity. Too much of any good thing is toxic, even water itself. Look it up, you can overdose and die by drinking too much water too fast. Chlorine is one of the most deadly carcinogens on earth in its pure, “straight” state. However it is essential and beneficial in small amounts. it brings joy in small amounts. but Tyler is no longer in control of the balance. He can no longer just lay back in the pure waters of creativity and allow inspiration to wash over him in his own time. He has to force it. He has to coax it out from hiding in order to meet deadlines and expectations. Lead= pencil lead, as in writing lyrics. Paper Maker= The pencil, The writing process, is no longer just a coping mechanism. It’s also a money maker. A “paper maker,” as in dollar bills. Just like the lead in the pencil, every attempt to write at this point in their career, is both useful and beneficial, and also potentially detrimental and poisonous to their future and success. In the end, he points out that he’s been tested like the tattered ends of a flag by the sea. Weathered by winds of change, the constant dynamic of wet versus dry in rain and seawater and salt, and the exposure to the sunlight (the spotlight.) again, all things in moderation. Too much sunlight leads to cancer. Too much change, too fast, drives one crazy. And on and on... Ultimately, this is him accepting his the new normal. Diving headfirst into the depths of success, and sharing his experience and personal testament with the audience. For what it’s worth ❤️
Holy crap, that is the absolute best interpretation I've ever read for this song. Thank you for taking the time to write all of this out so clearly and thoughtfully.
I feel the Gremlin fella is a representation of their fans and if they'll like the music or not......plus the pressure he feels to keep them entertained.
You know what everyone myself included say that Ned is his creativity but your interpretation makes complete sense as well. Wow I never even thought about it that way brilliant fren
To add to your song suggestions of Twenty One Pilots: The Hype (Berlin Version). You can really see his talent in the video because he shows the making of the song. It's really fascinating
Yes! this location session is my favorite of them all, it's just Tyler with his pure musical skills that could change a song into a totally new song yet still the same.
You’re really on exactly the right track with your interpretation of this song/video. I think someone has already mentioned Ned is the gremlin and represents Tyler’s creativity. I’ve subscribed for more twenty one pilots reactions! They are genius song makers, both lyrically and musically - you won’t regret the journey! Keep going! Too many good tracks to recommend to you, just start somewhere near the start and carry on!
Thanks so much for the love and support, really appreciate that! 😊🙏 I have so many of their tracks on the list already! This song in particular I think is absolutely genius... 🤯🤯 I also can’t believe it’s just the 2 of them! This instantly went onto my Apple Music playlist 😂
What I would give to experience Twenty One Pilot again for the first time.. Treasure this feeling!! I hope that you will do the trilogy in order from they're most recent album Trench.. the songs are Jumpsuit.. Nico and the Niners.. Levitate. Many fans, myself included, also say that the song HeavyDirtySoul from an older album, Blurryface, is a direct prequel to the trilogy.. It makes a lot of sense when you watch them all in order... the most obvious clue is the burning car Tyler is riding in is the same car that reappears in Jumpsuit then again in Levitate, and in each video the car is always burning.. mind you, there is a lot of lore and symbolism behind Tyler's lyrics and these videos... Together, they tell an incredible and brilliant story. I honestly can't wait to see what you take away from it.. I was incredibly impressed how quickly and accurately you interpreted Chlorine.. I think you will thoroughly enjoy reacting to these. Hopefully all 4 songs.. fingers crossed.. I know it may seem like a task at first, but I promise!!.. I believe I speak for all of us TOP fans.. it's an incredible journey!!!
I have put them all on my list to react to! I am blown away by these guys! I am so excited to react to all their stuff.. thank you so much for watching and the love and support ☺️🙏
@@thefablesphere I'm here for the long haul!! Really looking forward to more of your content.. Your enthusiasm and energy is contagious!! I freaking love it!! You've got yourself a lifelong subscriber!
The way you pick up on themes so quickly! It’s unnerving. And I cannot believe you grabbed the Fight Club thread. Frankly, you pointed out something I missed even though I’ve heard this song over 1000x, and have part of it tattooed on my body. Tyler is diabolical.
There has been much talked about in regard to who Ned is, what or who he represents... what the Chlorine is a metaphor for... but what doesn’t seem to get talked about that much is the distorted voice at the very beginning of the track before the beat drops... it says “where are you are? It’s been a little while”. To me, this seems to be one of the few times God appears in Trench. The first place my mind went to the question of “where are you?” Is to God asking Adam and Eve the same thing in the garden after they ate the fruit in the garden. From here, it fits that Tyler admits that he is sipping on straight chlorine, something that helps him but hurts him. At the very end of the song where he says (I believe to God, who called out to him in the beginning) “I’m so sorry, I forgot about you”... then asks God if He can build his ‘house’ with pieces, because after all, all Tyler is... all we all are, is chemicals... right? Or are we more? Is there more to us that just our material body? Do we have a spirit, and if so are chemicals enough to help us... or do we need more in our life? Like God? This, of course is purely my interpretation and what has always made the most sense to me. 🥰🌼
in the last verse he talking about the fans that he forget about them and give him a moment to catch him up to you .... the whole song is about the music that he made and this music is toxic to him but he keep going on and sing song for his fans even though by making tose music he is killing himself .. because you know he generally sing songs about reality (depression, suicide, etc. ) those song needs strong mental health. so in this song he talking about the break that he took to release that new album so late to get some mental peace.
Love your reactions huge twenty one pilots fan here ..... please do stressed out .. heathens .... my blood .... jumpsuit ..... lane boy .... heavy dirty soul ... ode to sleep ..... they have more songs you will love them
Thanks so much man.. really means the world to me man that you enjoy them ☺️😊🙏 I will absolutely do them.. some of them are already on my list and some I have just added now ☺️❤️
Oh hell yeah, you've picked up another good one Fable. Allow me to suggest some of my Twenty one pilots favourites! Kitchen Sink Car Radio Ride Addict With a pen Bandito Trees I haven't watched the video yet, but I'm sure it's great! Keep it coming man!
ReallyUnexplainable thanks man.. really appreciate. I have some of these on the list already and I have reacted to Ride already but the others.... I have added to the list for you ☺️☺️🙏
Chlorine is the one I hate and love it at the same time, I hate because I know the lyrics have meanings and sad, I love it because they make it as a work of art.
Man you should check out: Heavydirtysoul, My blood, stressed out, or ode to sleep. They're great to listen to specially if your still exploring twentyonepilots
Pay attention to the coffee aspect of the video. Yes, it's about music, but they concentrate so much in him constantly having a cup of coffe at all times in this video
Still my favorite reaction of all time...from anyone...had to come back today and listen. STILL waiting on your "Routines in the Night" reaction to drop as you go through Clancy...hope all is well!
so the name of the "Gremlin" is Ned and they did a cover of cancer by My chemical romance so that leads people to think that NED stands for No Evidence of Disease. Just thought I should add that also tyler has some songs that say how he writes his music and what i means to him so good luck finding them.
Damn, I think you missed the most important line IMHO when they're rolling the tank, "I love to hate the fight." To me it sounds like his troubles are what fuel his creativity (and his comfort, hence the papermaker line), but they still make him feel like shit nonetheless...like how chlorine can be cleansing in small doses in your pool, but overdo it and it's toxic...
Watched a few of your reactions to tøp and well, damn, your very observant 👏👏👏 Btw one thing ive learnt from being a fan of theres for so long is they never really delve into the meanings behind their lyrics and theres really no way to decide whos theories and interpretations are right. Were all pretty much diving into the same funk you keep getting yourself into and building our own meanings. You ever feel like making your brain shit itself, just ask the public what their logo |-/ means 😂😂😂
@@thefablesphere no clue, my theory was built mainly from the song kitchen sink. i think I-/ resembles a person using a sink to commit suicide. I being the sink, - being the rope, and / being the person leaning to block their airways. idk, dont @me, im trying lol
@@thefablesphere if you were to watch enough of their interviews, what you would learn about twenty one pilots is to not believe half of what they say in interviews 😂🤣😂
Little late here, just found your page and binge watched all your twenty one pilots videos. I love seeing people so hyped up over a band I have loved forever. There are a lot of good interpretations on here, and I love that they leave it up to us to take different things away from their music. I personally see it that NED (gremlin) which is his creativity has been left in the dark and not “fed” so to speak. He sips on chlorine, just enough to keep making music but that his creativity wasn’t being fully nurtured. Which is why he’s trying to hard to get it to come back out. And then when he slows it down and explains that he’s sorry I forgot you, like I’m sorry I haven’t been using my creative side to make the music I really want to, that I just made the music that would sell.....that’s why the horns grew, there was finally enough chlorine “attention” to make the creativity grow and come back for him to create the Trench album. Love your videos ❤️
An interesting fact, if you put the video on super slow mode a couple of seconds into the video as they are looking into the pool at their reflection they are wearing the skeleton suits. Love your reactions by the way.
I just watched this video again after having seen the Jumpsuit video etc. And I only noticed now the reflective stripes on Tyler's headphones and fingers.
My interpretation... It is the process of creating a new album (or creating in general). He needs it - but it drains him. He needs it to survive, but at the end of it - he needs a break, which is why he is sitting down with Ned at the end - tired and broken. It seems like he wants to quit at times, but at the same time he needs it to be fulfilled (constant battle in his head). "Rebel red carnation, grows while I decay" - When he is away from the process of creating for to long - he feels like he is "rusting" ("Rebel red" - color of rust) and needs the chlorine (process of creating) to clean it off. Also NOTICE - look at the end. The hand that gives him the last cup of chlorine - look closely - it is not Josh's hand - it is Blurry Face handing him the cup and Ned wants nothing to do with it and Tyler is spent - giving his all (for now) until the new stuff drops. Ned's antlers are gone and returned to normal - as is Tyler (relaxed). Rinse, cycle, repeat - THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME! If you have not done it yet (still looking over your videos) do tØp'S Brooklyn Storyteller Performance - all are good - but the first track for "Ride" - IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
Just started watching you! OMG! You totally get it! This is about his song writing process and how he feels about it! And how he deals with it! I totally agree!
I wanna say thanks to whoever help make this song you have a beautiful song thanks from the boy who used to sip chlorine every summer with his father who took him swimming ..... i dont know what else to say im crying .......... im crying ...... thank you for lettinf him see this
Just saw this Fable. Probably worth a friendly reminder to the #FableSqad you have 23 TOP REVIEWS. You started in the deep end. Well done 👍 (deepnedbayou)
Edit: Omgggg thats crazyyy!!❤️❤️❤️❤️You put so much passion and love when You react!! Thats all i want ! Broo please i waiting with my soul next reaction, please do to the Bastille-No Scrubs/No Angels!i beggin You🙏❤️
I wade into the lore at least knee deep and this song is still able to trip me up. sometimes when i listen to it i think i have it figured out, and then the next time i listen i go WAIT WHAT? and then other times I come up with new meanings. Most recently, I think that the deep voice asking "can you build my house with pieces" is Tyler's worry that people won't get his deeper message from the pieces of the songs that he writes... especially on Trench when the hints at lore were everywhere.
On the list and absolutely will do those for you.... more importantly, the 21 pilots logo on the Portuguese flag!!! Nice!! 🇵🇹 I’m Portuguese and my whole family lives in Portugal so I love that! 😊😊 useless info I know.. but had to say it!
Yeeah I was right, thought so 😀 I used to live in England and I love different accents. I’m from Sweden. My friend have just showed me your channel and I LOVE you and I’m now subscribing. Will check out more of your videos. Hugs from me and my friend Pia ❤️🇸🇪
As you delve into TøP more you'll notice how much Tyler felt he sacrificed a lot of creativity to make the album Blurryface (which blew up it was so massive). They took a big step away and a step back to create Trench and brought back a lot of their creativity. Lane Boy, The Hype, Chlorine along with many other tracks hint at these thoughts.
I don't think any interpretation is wrong. My favorite is that the clique. Aka the fans are looking for him and for him to produce enough music. his heart. But he has to water it down bc it can be too extreme . for us to be able to listen. He's the chemical that helps the fans with depression But straight chlorine is too much for us. Watered down tho it helps us grow. Not enough chlorine the music is watered down and not as meaningful 🙃 I know it's unpopular. But it's my favorite 😁
I hope this comes across right... There are enough comments below explaining the details, so I will leave that to them. As some said, sometimes you were getting warmer, and sometimes you were getting colder. But what I absolutely love about your reaction is how genuinely you care about understanding what is going on. You recognize that there is something deeper and seem eager to go after it. IMHO, that is what every music reaction on RU-vid should be - all the time!! So yeah, I really enjoyed this! On a complete side note, since you said you were going to listen to this a few more times... First, just try to become familiar with the song as a whole, being able to recognize the different [musical] riffs. Then listen again. Many of the musical elements are foreshadowed before they are properly played if that makes sense. It's a technique that actually occurs in opera quite a lot of all things. I mention it because I think more than some, once you hear it, you may appreciate their abilities even more! Cheers!
Firstly, thank you so much for the complement! I really appreciate that. 🙏 secondly, thank you for that, that will help... I am desperately trying to understand this story! I think I am getting there bit by bit... but then also I feel like there are multiple interpretations to this! Maybe I’m overthinking it as well 👀👀🧐🧐🧐
@@thefablesphere I don't know if you know this yet, but Trench (this album) is their second consecutive concept album. While there are elements from the previous one (Blurryface) carried forward, this also goes in new directions. If you have the time, the website genius.com has a lot of supporting/summary/concept info about the songs on both albums. There are some ideas on these albums that even have traces in earlier albums/songs. At the risk of sounding repetitive, you so sound like someone who really enjoys and appreciates figuring out the puzzle/meaning, etc. Hopefully just knowing that will make your ride more enjoyable! (And thank you so much for actually responding to me in the first place - that always makes my day when a RU-vidr does that!!!)
John Canino thank you for giving me this info! I absolutely adore music and sharing that with people.. so thank you for taking the time to watch my little channel and engaging with me! I will most certainly check out genius.com - I have to get to the bottom of this one! I have heard it, I think, 20 times today already 😂😂
Chlorine sanitizes - It purifies, but it's a toxin that kills the other toxins, diseases, viruses. It's a vicious cycle if you feed it...........what are you feeding? (not a rhetorical question)
Apparently this is about songwriting, The chlorine is coffee, which keeps him up and able to write songs, but is also bad for him and is killing him slowly, as chlorine is a poisonous substance, the line "you double as a paper maker" means he needs to do it to get money, but it is stressing him out to the point where he hates it sometimes
You got it actually, by now you already know Ned is his creativity. I was so annoyed at you in the beginning of this, because you didn't pay attention.
Late to the party but what I think Chlorine is, is a dis to the clique, and how they complained about Stressed Out being overplayed. So he's like wtf do you want, we got played everywhere and your bitching. Just my thoughts.
