Congrats, you have now entered the beginning of the world of DEMA😂 I'll try my best to explain but I'm not the greatest at explaining stuff so hopefully someone can help me out. So basically the world of DEMA is something you will recognize in the trench trilogy (I'm assuming that's the trilogy you're talking about). Dema is a city that basically represents depression, and is ruled by 9 evil bishops that each represent a mental illness. These bishops can't see the color yellow, because yellow symbolizes happiness. So, people who escape the bishops and dema, called banditos (hence the reason their last tour was called the bandito tour) are wearing yellow, yellow tape, yellow clothes, etc because this makes them invisible to bishops when escaping. So you will see many clues of yellow in the following videos. Tyler is battling whether to stay in dema or leave with the banditos to trench where he is safe throughout the trilogy. Also, the person driving the car in this video most people believe is Keons, a bishop. Sorry for the long paragraph haha, it's just easier to comprehend everything in following videos when you know some of the backstory too! Crazy how creative they are.
A couple of real quick things, but you're basically there! Yellow represents hope. The bishops represent depression, but more over, are the driving force between the religion that is in Dema, Vialism (basically the thought that all life should end with suicide and it should be celebrate (neon gravestones)). He has a yellow flower for each of his attempts to escape from Dema (his own depression). BUT, his depression (represented by Nico, one of the bishops) keeps dragging him back in. The banditos watch over the valley and try to help/guide, but in the end, you are the only one who can get yourself out of it. Also, the person driving the car is his "Blurry Face" persona, the one in charge of his life (who represents all the things Tyler is insecure about). Basically, Blurry face is driving his life.
If you dig deep into TOP and the lyrics you will find Tyler’s inner struggles with life. There are many threads of his faith in the music. Can you save my heavy dirty soul is a call to God as life is falling a part.
I don't think the car represents his life necessarily, i think it's all his struggles: anxiety, depression, insecurities etc. You can see a hooded figure driving the car at one point which is Blurryface. Blurry's the manifestation of Tyler's insecurities. You can also see that he's driving in circles always ending up at the same place. At one point the car gets destroyed and Tyler is free but then at the very end he is in the same car going down the same road. It basically means that Blurryface can never be truly defeated. You can have periods of happiness but you'll never be fully free of your struggles. It's all a big cycle.
Thanks for this... that makes absolute sense. I’m actually now getting the story bit by bit as the everyone fills me in ☺️☺️ this is all making sense to me now ❤️🙏
That is true for this song, and I guess 'Car Radio' too - though Tyler has used the car-metaphor for the good parts of life too. In 'Tear in my Heart' he says something like this: "You fell asleep in my / car I drove the whole time / but that's okay I just avoid the wholes so you sleep fine / I'm driving here I sit / cursing my covernment / for not using my taxes to fill wholes with more cement". Like - you fell asleep in my life, and now I try to make sure that the hard parts of that life will not effect you too much..? - the taxes part being about how the government does not give good enough care to people with mental health problems. So the car is just life - the good and bad parts. That's how I see it anyway. That being said, the cycle part is true for all of his songs. This is just from what I remember so if I didn't cite perfectly I apologize :)
It's funny bc I remember before we knew that this song was having a music video there was a rumour that a dad of a fan saw them burning the car and all of us were like: "Why the fuck will they burn a car" and then the video came out and they burnt even Josh's drums hahaha
7:37 Y'know, I'm just realizing now due to your exuberance, that this may be the most impactful tambourine part I've ever heard...something about that sound and the refrain makes me feel spiritual like I'm in church begging to God to save my soul...
I really love this music video, but I also love the live version because he screams those final "Can you save...?" lines. Gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
You finished to early, there are a twist in the end ) Also in this music videos I'll recommend to keep attention to details. And the most popular version, cuz it's not easy to get all of it without fans : So heavydirtysoul is the prequel to a big storyline. In this video blurryface (main bad character of album concept/Tyler's alter-ego) is driving Tyler to dema (city with prison in TOP universe) while repeatedly trying to kill Josh who is trying to stop him. While those hard drumming it helps tyler to take some controle , cuz whith every hit of drums - car is start to fall over. At the last minute Tyler takes control again and saves Josh - but Josh's drums are still catching fire, because tylers problems affect everyone around him, even if he doesn't hit them physically.... And after the car cathes fire and Ty beats blurryface - it starts all over again the next day... A constant loop of hurting the people you love because of your inner demons. Now some people believe the car also represents the whole blurryface album and it blows up at the end to symbolize the end of the era and beginning of trench (last album era). Also keep attention to colours - blurryface era is red , Trench - yellow (represents all of support from Ty family and friends , and kinda motivation not to give up) colour of Josh's hair in this video is yellow , so you get it ) The order of storyline is: • heavydirtysoul • jumpsuit • nico and the niners • levitate. Heathens also goes with small part of the story, but it's more connected with Dema , representing prison . In the end everyone except Ty was able to escape.
@@thefablesphere one note is that we had a 2 year break between Heavy Dirty Soul and Jumpsuit. We didn't know they connected until it came out. Was a super mind blowing surprise.
OH IMPORTANT THING!! you stopped the video before the very end... at the end they show tyler sitting in the back of the car driving on the road again, showing that this journey is a cycle... which also connect into the trilogy ;)
Maaaaaan the way you get lost in the music is amazing to watch.. like you are going though like an outerbody experiance or something, just vibing and feeling the emotion in the moemnt! Amazing reaction dude! :)
@@thefablesphere Lane Boy is still my absolute favorite TOP song! For me it is them telling us how it is, and showing us with the music. And it sounds amazing when I'm driving.
Oh Fil...I love seeing you feel the same way as I do with twenty one pilots.. Exactly.. I go back again and again to watch ur top reactions....!!! So refreshing..
tfw he says "I was looking at every single piece of this video I promise you" after he covered his face with his hands when they showed the driver I would have loved to see what he said about that I'm crying
From his Intro music, to his reactions on Twentyønepilots, to his cute endings! I like everything about his videos. I’m into fablesquad officially. TØP Trilogy coming soon, means 3 Trench songs coming tomorrow! Gonna be epic
SO EXCITED FOR THE TRILOGY!!!! i cant wait to see what you think of it, they've definitely got the most hidden meanings and such in them. you've probably already been told but this video is also the intro to that trilogy. this is one of my FAVORITE songs by them, glad you enjoyed once again!! i love the way you get angry at how good they are, i'm right in that boat with you!! love your reactions man
Sooooooooo badassssss!!!!!!! Here again, years after (finding your channel) to enjoy and share your reaction to this masterpiece 💛💛💛 Thank you!!! I love this so much!! 😍
That’s right, go back and watch the very end. Then listen to the very start of the video again. I’ve never noticed that sound in the first few seconds of black until this time watching it. Mind blown 🤯
@@neiltinley4858 Also if you go watch the very first version of Goner with the accordion and Tyler standing in the street in the snow, the ending of Goner is the same sound as the beginning of HeavyDirtySoul
tyler nearly hurts josh a few times right (with the car lol)? and his drums catch on fire,, i feel like that says how much his depression affects the people who care about him :) could be wrong though
My 1st 21 pilot Reaction. I'm so glad it was with you. I particularly like the way you explained the lyrics and how they went with the story. I can completely understand about his soul being in the back seat bc My soul hands been in the back seat And I have to move through life without it. Also I didn't understand a lot of the lyrics cause I'm just not good At dissecting them. I'm glad you were there to interpret them and tell me what they meant And how they lined up with the video. And I love the song
Man, I grow with your music selection and what you put out here! I'm sitting here head-banging along with you.... and that was just, I don't even know man... crazy it was an outstanding piece of music! WOW that's going on my playlist for sure Fil! Peace brother✌❤
Dude!!! You react to these like I did when I first discovered them 5 years ago. I was I my late 20's struggling with my mental health. Their songs pulled me out of some really dark times and now fill me with joy everytime I hear them. Holding On To You literally saved my life one night, I'm so glad you like these guys. Give Fall Away live a listen, you'll be blown away 🌻💛🌻
They both have their problems and demons. Tyler being the vocalist and lyricist has naturally the channel to bring his in to the open. Josh is really quiet and reserved about his. The one he has been public about is severe anxiety. That severe that he couldn't speak in front of people. So he choose drums as form of expressing himself. He has gotten a lot better with time tho.
I LOVE your reactions to the greatest band since the year 2000...if not ever..and it is only 2 of them...you need to watch heavy dirty soul live at the fox theater ..and definitely watch the mutemath sessions, live room, amd tyler strips down songs...New song and video today at some point "level of concern" follow the skeleton clique!! Greatest fan base in history!
I was right there with on the song goner..I love that song so much I named my hotspot goner..car radio..josh and Tyler are one of a kind and if you ever have a chance to go see them live..it will make you respect them even more..they put it all out there for their fans..I took my 13 yrs old daughter and we both cried at one point..this band changed my life..when I m down..I listen to them always..keep it up
WOW, Fable, your reaction was like mine after listening to Mozart...who am I kidding, I never listen to Mozart unless it's as background music to Bugs Bunny smacking the crap otta Elmer Fudd. Anyways, your analogy of the breaking car and the dirty soul inside, was straight off the pages of the Book Of Isaiah. Well done.
Excellent interpretation, every one is the right one as Tyler says ;) And you did a good job at watching the whole thing....except when you missed the driver of the car....but you will be familiar with that character in the trilogy 🤗 quite important
Personally, i think the car represents his soul. Just like a car a torch a death. But ode to sleep says i will set my soul on fire. And id imagine he wants to set his soul on fire every night if he has troubles sleeping every night. So maybe he finally did it. His soul is also half a soul divided. Two drivers in a four person car half full. And theyre also on different sides, divided. He also resets in the morning.
An especially important one to hear live I think...for when he screams the lyrics at the end. Tyler's screaming always remindes me a bit of Chester Bennington. They have no other way in that moment to express their emotions but to scream
I have enjoyed your reactions of Twenty One Pilots so much! If you want a really good showcase of Tyler's creativity and musicianship, you should check out Tyler's Storyteller Performance. Keep up the great work!
I Always see this car like his depression. depression is a cycling state like this road. Depression separates him from his Friend, like a Shield to the outside World that you need to break to set you free.
Your reactions are always amazing!! React to Fake you out by twenty one pilots!! By the way, are you portuguese? Im asking this because you have one of the most portuguesiest names ever hahah Keep up the amazing work!!
"fuck you tyler! fuck you josh!" i lost it!! 😂 man, i knew watching this right now isn't a good idea because it's 2am currently in my country and i'm only watching vids so i can sleep but i watched this anyway and now i cant sleep. your reaction hyped me the shit up 😂
@@thefablesphere don't worry, it's all worth it! i can't wait for your trench trilogy reaction. but most importantly, i can't wait to see your lane boy reaction! i just know it's gonna be intense! 😂
I think josh is there to stop the driver at night from going somewhere. The car also gets more and more broken throughout the day. To the point he celebrates at the end when his souls on fire. Maybe hes just so fed up with life sometimes he wants to see it burn.
