its more of just manners to not scream and sing at small shows like this. for big arena shows, of course, but people usually come to small shows to hear the artist sing, not the crowd
At the TØP concert I went to I could barely here Tyler. But I was right in front of the speakers so the music, plus Josh's drums made it hard to hear anything over my screaming and sobbing haha
So because they don't sing, they don't know the song? I can tell you because I am right behind this girl in the crowd, but not singing either and I damn well knew this song.
That's a great idea tho just buy all the tickets to one show and they are all just like "aww yissss sold it out we are so good" and they come onstage and you are just there like 😏😏
I'm the type of person who never sings a long at a concert like ever. idk I just get so lost in the moment that Im not really doing anything but just watching and listening lol idk I'm really weird and stupid sorry
+screams when you play a certain instrument (like a ton of instruments for me) for a long period of time, you could learn a song just by listening to it once. you either can hear the notes being played/hit and can just repeat them.
It was at a festival so not many people knew all the songs. I was one of the few people who knew this song. a lot of people know the new album but not the old ones. so yeah sucks tho
Eduardo Kills Everyone except that guy was probably taking in the song and the words because it's new to them. You can tell that they're enjoying themselves. Sorry for the super late response, I just wanted to give you my thoughts.
dvdiggs The comments below become common motivation to promote your shows next episode so your brain knows to keep going though hope far from this moment but you would not know it gets better when morning finally rears its head together we're losers remember the future remember the morning is when night is dead
It breaks my heart that no one knows in the concert the lyrics to this amazing song and the album in general. Maybe this is why tyler doesn't sing self titled anymore...
+twenty øne phans that could also be a factor in why he doesn't play. As the album does have more deeper meaning and more lyrics that relate to serious situations such as his depression since it was harder for him back then.
LoVeMusiC35 ughhhh ikr they don't pay attention to the old good songs like Kitchen Sink, Isle Of Flightless Birds, Implicit Demand For Proof, Addict With A Pen, Truce, they just pay attention to Ride and Stressed out it gets so annoying
Rebecca Jewels stressed out and ride wasn't made when this concert was made. also why would someone that only likes one song of theirs go to a concert? people like you I hate because you think you're unique and you call people fake fans because they only knew 2 songs. "I was heartbroken because this song was so important to me" Tyler said after the lyric change at one of ers' shows. It started off like "I heart that real fans don't like this song", No one is a fake fan. They are fans of a song and be thankful that tøp are where they are now. without blurryface they wouldn't be rich and they wouldn't have saved as many lives as they have today. so stop. please.
haha guess what guys this isnt some fucking cafe with backround music this is a festival, for MUSIC, so why don't you fucking enjoy the beautiful music instead of your little side conversations
why would you care if people are talking? stop idolizing artists like they are god and you need to shut up when they are playing. You can have the most profound conversations with music playing.
That's kind of a Dutch thing (this takes place in the Netherlands) there are artists who don't come to the Netherlands anymore cause they find it rude. Don't know if I think that tbh... but I'm also Dutch so I guess I'm not an objective opinion
Nerdy AnimeLover me too, sometimes i perform their songs. I was playing slowtown once and skipped the rap becuase i got too nervous. so i just took a very long keytar solo. lol
+Genji Takiya same story here. I can still nail some of the stuff if I falsetto but I can't do that all the time. I've never sang in front of people before but I really want to do live stuff and have the stage presence this band has
Okay but even the one girl who knew this song was really chill and laid back. But, like, if I was in that crowd and he started playing a Self Titled song, I would be screaming and crying and jumping around I mean come on.
But, this was when self titled was new and everything. Now we have the new albums and all we wanna hear are the old songs, so maybe she was just enjoying herself that moment, and listening to the music.
@@null27004 OMG IKK it’s like I manifested it, the people who were there are SO lucky. I really hope that song will be part of the actual tour setlist or else!!!
dipcrap I don't know when I first saw it I was like she's thinking about something deep she looks like she's gonna cry or something idk but it is funny 😂
Most of those people are clueless as to how lucky they are or who twenty one pilots even are at that point haha I noticed some people in aw or ignoring the performance but I would have killed to be there haha
Nothing is harder than to play in front of a crowd that has never ever heard of you. This was in 2014 and I'm confident some of these people just standing there nodding along the song became lifelong fans after the set. This "lame" crowd marks the date many of them found their new favorite band. Or forgot they ever saw them life. It's part of every bands growth process, don't be mad at them.
Chills ran through my whole body when he said the "I promise you this is mine" part and then I cried. This is one of my favorite songs and I've heard it many times but seeing him saying it in front of a huge group of people is a whole different story
The line "Honestly, we're probably more suicidal than ever now" is such a gut punch. He always hints at his struggles with suicide but never actually SAYS "I am suicidal" openly except for maybe 4 songs. I can only think of a few lines; there's the one I already said, "my trial was filed as a "crazy suicidal headcase"", "sometimes death seems better than the migraine in my head", and "promise me this, if i lose to myself // you won't mourn a day and you'll move on to someone else"
Now is the climax to the story That gives the demons and angels purpose They fly around while we are walking And mold our emotions just to please them I am cold, can you hear? I will fly with no hope, no fear And the ground taunts my wings Plummet as I sing, plummet as I sing All we are is an isle of flightless birds We find our worth in giving birth and stuff We're lining our homes against winding roads And we think the going is tough We pick songs to sing, remind us of things that nobody cares about And honestly we're probably more suicidal than ever now If you decide to live by, what you think's wrong and what's right Believe me you'll begin to wish you were sleeping Your weeping will creep in your head and you'll cry But if we wake up every morning and decide what we believe We can take a part our very heart and the light will set us free I am cold, can you hear? I will fly with no hope, no fear And the ground taunts my wings Plummet as I sing, plummet as I... I am cold, can you hear? I will fly with no hope, no fear And the ground taunts my wings Plummet as I sing, plummet as I sing How frustrating and so degrading His time, we're wasting As time will fly by and the sky will cry as light is fading And he is waiting, oh so patiently While we repeat the same routine as we will please comfortability Please don't think about why you can't sleep in the evening And please don't be afraid of what your soul is really thinking Your soul knows good and evil, your soul knows both sides And it's time you pick your battle, and I promise you this is mine (I promise you)
This was the video that really sent me down the Twenty Øne Piløts hole. I had been actively listening to their music and was still discovering all their songs. After I found this video, I became infatuated with their live performances. I've been a die-hard fan since. I got to see them live back during the Icy Tour, and I intend to see them whenever they tour "Clancy." This specific live performance will always hold a special place in my heart. |-/
To all the people complaining about the people not knowing the words, first of all: it’s a festival. They were prolly there for another artist as tøp was still relatively underground. Second: this is an obscure song. Not many people knew it, regardless of wether they were fans or not. The clique was much smaller back then (yes 2014 I know) so people most likely didn’t share their older songs as much.
wish they would play old songs like these for the EmotionalRoadShow and confuse the heck out of the newbies because the only album they've ever listened to is BlurryFace.... Like imagine the dead silence and confusion for at least half of the audience hahahahah it would be magnificent
If they did, the fans who anteed up and paid the price for a ticket to a live show would either know the songs already or wouldn't know them but enjoy it still and then go home to download the earlier albums. Either way, Tyler and Josh benefit all the more. Don't be hipster and crap on the newer fans just because they're new. You were a new fan once too. At least they're fans and helping to increase Tyler and Josh's much deserved celebrity.
so i have like been a fan of tøp since the beginning of 2020. the fact that these guys already have a place in my heart and made so much impact on me is amazing. i already love these guys, the music and the fandom. i can’t imagine a day without their music blasting in my ears and scrolling on social media without seeing them. happy to be a part of this fandom even though i joined very late. ||-//
Aliyah L Why is that funny ? Aren't you happy they have new fans ? and it has to start somewhere, they can't become a fan and know all the lyrics in one day, the love may grow and they will know the lyrics later
Louise Brnz I say it with affection. Much like a grandparent would when seeing their grandchild try to walk for the first time. Knowing that you were once in their position and that their abilities(in this case, lyrical knowledge) will grow. There was no malice in me when I wrote that.
I'm tired of these comments lol Guys CHILL some people don't sing and that doesn't mean they don't know the song, the lyrics they maybe want to experience the live a different way This song means a lot to me and if I would be there I would have probably just froze or listen my eyes closed. You don't need to shout and be the loudest to show you are interested :)
got to be the best song writing ever. toss up with this and addict with a pen. Pure deep poetry . thanks fellas. always looking forward to the new stuff. but that first album is hard to beat
I want his shirt, it looks amazing. I absolutely love this song. Their music is just wonderful. They mean so much to me.I hope I can see them live one day, I just got to find a way to get there.
This song is everything to me. I love when he says I will fly with no hope no fear because a long time ago that I realized that if it weren't for those two things many people wouldn't be alive today. And both rap parts are so amazing and touching.
Okay so Twenty One Pilots just got known in the Netherlands during this concert and you guys are all bashing everyone except this one girl in the audience and all the others arent the real fans? I am the one with the red lipstick in the crowd and I liked this song and knew it but didnt know the lyrics and felt the camera on me and got shy. Some girls got so intimidated in front of me that they “fainted”, all right, maybe weird but they are maybe 15? Being a fan of someone is not a competition and I always felt better than other fans because I was in this clip and I know that I knew the song, but this isnt a competition. Some people dont learn lyrics from their heads, and arent obsessed. Stop judging others and framing others, just let everyone be. Dont pretend you all are better than anyone else, it just makes me so angry. If you all were true fans, you would respect the community.
Thats actually really cool that you went to that concert and yes i am very jealous lmao. And the point you made was valid, but i dont think they meant anything negative, but just pointing it out in general just because. Just so you dont take offense to them lmao
the people there are so lucky, i can see in the faces of some of them that they are amazed at how great twenty one pilots is, and to think that this would be the beginning of one of the best current bands
I LOVE HOW EVERHONE IS ALKING ABOUT PEOPLE IN THE CROWD BUT JOSHS ARMS LIKE THE MOM TATTOO ISN'T THERE!!!! (dies laughing) IK HE JUST GOT IT LIKE A WHILE AGO
everyone says it’s sad that not many people know this song. You don’t have to know every single song and how many breaths tyler takes in TB Saga to be a fan or how many hairs tyler has on his right elbow. Everyone there likes twenty one pilots there. It’s not a competition of who knows them more. Stay Alive Frens |-/
