Even before tiktok everyone has been learning their dances for years now because at least the point choreo is always catchy and simple enough to master! The theory about TT and Knock Knock is that the 9 girls were at a sleep over inside a house which received a magic book, after a while it started to snow and they went to play in the snow but the door closed and they were locked from the outside, as the door was freezing, suggests that they all froze to death and became ghosts, but not any ghosts, became those characters in the magic book. On halloween the children "knocked on the door" and so the ghosts of them that are trapped in that house made those children happy.
The Opening line of knock knock also says "the door closes at twelve, please hurry up a bit" and they get locked out at midnight... Which I'm assuming is why they get locked out
Your not totally wrong w/ the school lunch thing - The 'maknae' line which is Dahyun, Chaeyoung & Tzuyu is also known as the "School Meal Club" (They were still going to Highschool that time)

when you said in DTNA part that "it's like an alcohol free prequel", i couldn't agree more. because they were also known as summer queens since no other groups does summer songs like them. like when alcohol free was released, it was a time (obviously summer season) where kpop groups barely release a song that really radiates "summer". many groups' songs are dark concept, girl crush or just a normal song but not "summery" enough. so yeah, no one does it like twice. they are indeed queens 👸
I was just thinking about twice's choreo the other day too! Their dances are always memorable and interactive(?) in a way where, like you said you can dance with them, which I love! There's always a move or a pose that is so catchy and fun to do~ I don't even think there's any title tracks that I don't know at least the chorus choreo to 😅
I laughed a bit at the knock knock review. He was like, they looked young, too young. Feels illegal. XD Personally, Knock Knock might actually be my favourite "old" Twice song, like from the cute era, along with Likey and TT. I don't know why so many people don't like it or say it's the worst Twice song... Maybe my taste is weird, I don't know, but feels underrated

finally you got to watch "Shut up Baby" (Cheer up 🤣) that song was actually the real beginning for Twice basically cause of Sana's "Shy Shy Shy" part of the song.. TT and Knock Knock are connected cause of the book in Knock Knock.. it's supposed to be a magic book and when they went out to play in the snow.. well.. they "froze to death" so they became "ghosts" from the enchanted book in the house..

Cheer up is the song that made Twice blow up in Korea. The video is interesting. The guy with the camera on his head is supposed to represent like the male gaze and how young guys see girls as cliche tropes. So he views them as like movie characters and doesn’t see them as their real selves. So all the girls represent different movie cliche characters.
In Knock Knock when they open the front door and some weird old man is there with a keyboard and they look disapointed - that's actually Mr JYP himself! He drops a fairytale book for them and all the stories in it are the ones we saw in TT. It's like a metaphor for their real life where Mr JYP gives TWICE some songs, decors and outfits and they make it all come to life with their unique personalities. I really like short hair Jeongyeon in these earlier MVs. I think she's supposed to be the tomboy of the group or the girl cruch. Whatever the idea was, it's working because i'm in love with her! That "shy shy shy" line in Cheer Up is epic!
I was always a little annoyed when I heard people describe them as cute, it was like calling dreamcatcher music -anime like. It doesn't capture the whole thing. Twice was more, I dunno, "smile inducing"? the music makes you happy, and it didn't necessarily need to be upbeat to do it. Likable? Plus cute kinda undersells them, they were always really attractive women, who might have acted cute, but that wasn't the extent of their attractiveness.
I think there's a theory on yt by kpop junkee about twice songs you can check out By the way, Dance the Night Away is one of the best. Jihyo really did glow up since this era specially the tannd Jihyo will forever be iconic
I know a lot of fans don't like "Knock Knock" but I honestly love it so much. All of their older songs are golden for me. They were the only girl group I really listened to with every release they did back then.
You know why you have yet to dislike these so-called cute songs? Because they are legit jams! If I’m not mistaken, you just have their debut (“Like Ooh-Aah”) and my personal favorite left to watch… “Signal” was a very polarizing song - people either loved it or loathed it. (Apparently some have come around to it.) Given that you enjoy what you do of GOT7 and you didn’t have any issues with TWICE’s “cute” tracks, I bet you’ll dig it. TT is actually a replacement song. Very Very Very by I.O.I (a group that somi was originally in) was actually twice’s comeback song but JYP gave it to I.O.I. i dont know why JYP gave it to I.O.I but maybe it was a gift for somi (was a JYP trainee in that year) that she finaly debut in a group and won the first place and make it their debut song, i guess. ahahahahaha
Dance the night away was my first comeback with Twice, its what made me fell in love with their lovely and refreshing charm. It still is my favorite summer song of all times!

Glad you enjoy their old songs as well as well as their new songs. “TT” has to be my favorite because it’s the first song I heard by TWICE and is also the song that got me into TWICE. “KNOCK KNOCK” is absolutely beautiful in my opinion. Especially when listening to it on a night car drive. Cheer up and dance the night away are really fun songs. TWICE’s old songs are just as good as their new ones.
Besides "Likey" , these are my top TWICE songs for sure! It's such a great set of uplifting, fun, and most of all ICONIC songs in KPOP and TWICES discography! DTNA is my all time favorite, and loved to see you react to it! I guess you can consider youself a ONCE now! lol!
