Her sitting on a throne in a room all by herself could represent the emptiness she feels when she is alone.” The throne could represent how the public could be putting her on a pedestal (the throne). She is seen looking at herself laughing with the other members, this shows how she feels the happiest with all of them. Jihyo and Nayeon- Computer scene and diamonds: Jihyo is seen inside of a room with a bunch of tv’s facing her, the tv’s might represent the public trying to look into Jihyo’s life, in an article it says,” Jihyo feels like the public is peering into her life. Nayeon represents the public. There is a shot in the MV where Nayeon is featured on all the screens and she is staring directly at Jihyo. This could be inspired by the true life events that have taken place. Jihyo might feel like her private life has been invaded, but instead of Nayeon judging her, she smiles at her instead. Thank you for revisiting Feel Special. This song is really meaningful for Twice and Once as shows what Twice went through ( Mina's depression, Sana's Ig post that knets misunderstood, Jihyo's dating scene, Nayeon's stalker issues) and also showed they're love for once for letting us know that during those hard situations, they relied on each member and Once. As much as I love the Feel Special stages, Mina's absence was felt since its the first time that one member is missing for a long time which is understandable and baby chae filling in for Mina is just adorable. There really is so much symbolism in that MV for them and Once. Dahyun with her Candybong/original Twice lightstick themed umbrella, which both represents Once and Twice (as it is Twice's official colors). Dahyun sheltering Sana from the rain and helping her when everyone else just walks past her, representing how Once and Twice are always there even when the world attacks a member. Which hits differently when considering Sana was in a major controversy during their Fancy promotions and was disliked by huge parts of the general korean population due to a misinterpretation of a IG post. Jihyo surrounded by tv screens, only looking truly comfortable when Nayeon's face appears. Which may represent both that Jihyo has been highly scrutinized since their TV-debut on Sixteen for her weight and later on her singing on their music show stages. Or that her dating news broke around the same time and so she may have felt surrounded by people who wanted to cash in on news about their relationship. Mina in the forest of mint green lights (her official color). Similar to the mint green lightstick oceans that fans made during After Moon at Twice's concerts when Mina couldn't perform due to her anxiety. Tzuyu trapped in a doll house which is reminiscent of how she is viewed and often reduced by people to just being a living doll and looking beautiful, despite her efforts and wishes to be known for her talent. And so much more.
The best is that you are a Once only since few more than 2 months, right ? Wait for a couple of months, then 1 year, and at each time you'll never see Feel Special MV in the same way. This performance makes me sad every time when I watch. Mina wasn't in MAMA 2019 but I hope she will be there in MAMA 2020. I already knew about Mina's condition, I had hope that Mina could be there but she wasn't. Especially Fancy performance makes me CRYING because I know every member's part and when I didn't see Mina there ..I was broke ;( probably that's why I am so happy when I see my penguin smiling and happy. Chaengie took Mina's part in every Feel Special performance after their comeback. Personally I don't like God Jihyo with blonde hair but she is still our God Jihyo. Sana owns this performance - that's it! Feel Special has special meaning for me cuz was my first Twice comeback and because of it Mina became my bias.
Yeah, Dahyun brought me to kpop, her personality talent and all is like a magnet. Plus the 9 visuals that you see is just half of how pretty they are, yeah, you really need to attend to an event where you can see their jaw dropping visuals live, becaise camera's can't do them justice.
When TWICE were having this comeback they told us that it didn't matter if they got awards or not from this era. Because this wasn't the usual style of kpop and it was the first time for them to be singing such personal lyrics. They basically told us to just enjoy the music in our own little ONCE/TWICE bubble forgetting about the rest of the world and getting through that tough time together. There's also an encore stage where ONCEs where singing Mina's part, TWICE was so touched, it was a beautiful moment.
JYP actually talked to all the members when they had a meal together and asked them how they feel since they debuted.. Then JYP combined all of their answers and produced a song.. BAAMM !! That is how Feel Special was borned !

Being honest, feel special comes in a moment where I was totally confused about myself and didn't know what to do, that's why feel special has so much meaning to me. This song literally made me feel special. About the stage, I got really sad because of Mina, but when I listened to her voice there, it was a really good thing.

There ate really a lot of meaning behind the song, there are things that had happened to the other members, specifically Sana, Jihyo, Mina and Tzuyu, a lot of hate was given to them. Feel special is really a song that hits me hard. It has such sad meaning, and also seeing you react to it again is amazing! I think the point break where I became ONCE for sure was when I watched their ending speech at Twiceland fantasy park, I swear I never cried so much watching something like that. I always feel like every person that want to be a Once must see that speech. I always thought how can I cry over these girls that I know nothing about? The rest is history

MAMA2018 has alot of Mina :) - Im glad you are still checking out Twice even though you are checking out other groups even though they are all great, Twice is always a special group in my heart even if they were not my first group I was drawn not only by their constant release of great songs but their strong bond for each other and through it all they can be relatable, humble, and inspiring... oh and sexy too but that's the least important.
