Appreciate the shout out to Incredimation's Heatwave video! Name was a coincidence like you guessed, title was already set when that trailer came out haha
You know what would be sick would be a “skate gear across different countries” type of video. Like europeans are all about their racing and high performance setups, austrailia with the “crack boards” with a million footstops, and US with the more simplistic, kind of care free stuff for example.
I'm new to the scene too, starting out in 2022 - all solo. Only started skating with other people spring 2023. I think for skate companies in the downhill scene, it's always going to be difficult to stay afloat, especially if they make the 'non-consumable' parts of gear. Most people will not buy decks or trucks with any kind of regularity, they don't really need replacing unless you break them, or find something else you find interesting - the company profits off the skater only once. Wheels, grip, bushings, bearings, even gloves - those wear down, and we all pretty much constantly buy new ones to keep rolling.
This is a super good point, it could just be that with the overall economy being more difficult for most people skaters arent buying "unneeded" gear as much as before. People are more likely to stick with one set up longer and buy longer lasting wheels to save money.
