Twilight Beach is said to be the best loved family beach of Esperance and was voted best Western Australian beach in 2006. This video was shot in May 2023, a couple of days before the start of winter. Most days were overcast and it was windy.
Just off the shore of Twilight Beach are some beautiful rock formations resting in the Southern Ocean. From a certain angle one rather large rock appears to have a hole in it, get a bit closer though and it's actually a small cave. Twilight Beach is ideal for those learning to surf and it's clear waters are inviting to those wanting to snorkle in still waters.
Twilight Beach can be found along the Great Ocean Drive approx 11 kms to the west of the Esperance town centre. In summer the beach is patrolled on weekends and public holidays and if you need something extra to cool you down you may find an icecream truck in the carpark.
Twilight Beach (not to be confused with Twilight Cove which is approx 430ks east of Esperance) was also named after the Fremantle built cutter Twilight. Twilight Beach is 3.2km long and the eastern end can be affected by rips while the western end as it curves southwest, become sheltered which is what makes it a safe beach.

The cutter Twilight lends it's name to Twilight Beach Road, Esperance, Twilight Beach, Esperance, Twilight Cove, Nuytsland Nature Reserve and Twilight Terrace in Carey Park, Bunbury.
