Yeah I can’t wait till he gets to s3 and sees t##### I don’t wanna spoil it if he reads this. Also conservatives are dumb nazis. Lol might as well make this political lol since politics affects everyone. Also it is true. Once you attack marginalized groups. Like how conservatives call literally anyone who’s trans or an ally of them groomers with no evidence also conservatives love child marriage.
If you remember my comment about Maul's conversation with Qui-Gon, it was there. The Jedi advised Maul to abandon his vengeance and leave this planet. Maul's been there so long he needs that walking stick. It's worth listen what he says. The Inquisitor is strong. And this is from a former Sith who should be able to handle the Inquisitor easily. However, the appearance of Ezra gave Maul renewed strength and gave him hope that he would get what he wanted. It is worth asking the question since Maul has been busy with revenge for years, what happened to the syndicate? Qira became Maul's apprentice. She became the face and leader of the syndicate. She was still loyal to Maul and had learned a lot from him. She will even fight Vader in the future. The Sith Holocron does not possess all knowledge, only what the Sith have chosen to "share". Maul is most likely counting on the knowledge that led to the death of the Jedi in front of the temple. Most likely this holocron belongs to Darth Tanis (or apprentice) who is responsible for what happened to these Jedi and Sith.
Man, these two episodes are easily some of my favorite star wars content ever. I think they did such a good job with Maul's character. Also, he is fairly old here, about the same age as kenobi is, so probably in his 50s. So take that as you will I suppose
"There's always a bit of truth in legends." I have always loved that little shout out in the writing to the star wars stuff that used to be the extended universe.
Ah, and here we finally are! 5:53 This definitely paints a new perspective on Maul and his motives… a perfect example of a villian you can sympathize with!
What fun! Yes, totaly awesome episode. Maul is so cool here. His voice actor is great. Malachor and the Sith temple look also cool. And Maul is manipulating Ezra, using him. I cannot wait for next episode.
One of my favorite things about this episode is if you are a gigantic Star Wars nerd, enough that you actually looked up obscure things or played some old video games, you will recognize that Maul is literally teaching Ezra the Sith Code as they go through the temple in a subtle way. He sees the potential in Ezra for the Darkside which is why he doesn't kill him but instead tests him. Such a cool detail. Can't wait for your reaction to the next part.
Hey Topness! Just so you know those helicopter lightsabers were extremely controversial when this episode first aired. I don’t think we ever see them again.
In KOTOR, the Mass Shadow Generator destroyed all life on Malachor V and planet slowly broke apart. Here the weapon destroyed all life on the planet. and converted all the carbon into this crust. The desolation is clearly modeled after the Pompeii eruption. The bodies exposed to so much heat and energy they are nothing more than graphite statues. Zabraks have a life span similar to a human so he’s about the same age as Kenobi give or take. But Dathomir Zabraks are touched by the Darkside of the Force so theoretically they can live much longer. The third Inquisitor, is called the Eighth Brother, and he’s a Trellian Jango Jumper. Remember the woman that ripped off Ahsoka’s lightsaber? He’s one of them. The voice of the temple is the same actress that played Ventress. Some have speculated that it’s Darth Traya. Ezra and Kanan have know Idea who Maul is. The former wasn’t born, and the latter was out fighting with his master in the outer rim. It’s not like every Jedi is briefed on the goings on of one knight on the other side of the galaxy. Kanan didn’t consider Maul a threat until Ahsoka did. Kanan isn’t blind either, he can feel the Darkside swarming around him.
Ahh yes I remember the flying Helicopter sabers haha, this was one aspect of the show that got quite a bit of flak at the time, The Sabers simply spinning was already on the line for a lot of people at first but seeing them fly with them took most people out of it
And we're finally here! The Temple scenery is amazing for us, imagine how exciting it is for a kid like Ezra! Getting Maul back is always awesome, he really is a Hate Master and Sam Witwer's voice work is a masterpiece. Great reaction, now for part 2!
