@@yajy4501 All the episodes you listed are true classics of the genre. Nightmare at Twenty Thousand Feet terrified me as a six year old child. It scared the H__l out of me when William Shatner tore back the curtain and the gremlin had his face pressed up to the window. It's still one of the scariest things I've ever seen on TV or in the movies. The people who say Shatner can't act need to watch him in this episode because he proved them all wrong.

Did he recognize decker?
@MaliciousLeo
@MaliciousLeo 8 месяцев назад
@@thehatter9400long story short, Decker traveled to 1959 with the thought that he let Mackeye die because he ditched him and left him fighting 7 German fighters. So he disappeared into the clouds where he lands in 1959. But throughout the episode, he starts to get a guilty conscience and deduces that if Mackeye lived, it was because he went back to save him. So, he gets back into his plane and goes back into the “white cloud” and it isn’t until he does that, does Mackeye show up on base and once these two officers mention his old nickname that only Decker could know, they show him Deckers belongings such as his dog tags, military ID and picture. So as long as he was in 1959, Mackeye was “dead” and he went “back in time” to save him which allowed Mackeye to “exist” in the future.

@GetTheFO
@GetTheFO 8 месяцев назад
Remember that finding records back then was a bit more of a process than hopping in a computer. You’d have to send for the records to be pulled from whatever facility they are at, presumably during a war (I’m assuming that this is during WWII and not an inter-war period) which would put a request for personnel on the back burner for non-essential taskings.lord only knows how much of a pain it would be to thumb through physical documents from probably 20 years prior. Anyway, that’s my take on the reality of this discussion happening while that was occurring.

The old pilot had left his Wingman Captain Mackaye to die and ran away from the fight, but history demanded a different action, and showed him a future where Mackaye had survived and become a high ranking officer. He knew that he was going let his friend die if he didnt return. So he promptly grabbed his plane and flew back into the clouds. Mackaye arrived just after the leftenant had flown away, and he recounted how he had thought he saw his wing man flying away leaving him to face the enemy alone, but then, he saw his wingman return take on the enemy and at every opportunity put himself between the enemy and mackaye. He was shot down by the germans and Mackaye managed to fly home safe

I watched this episode, it was fire. If you dont want to watch it, here is a summary: The soldier lands at an airbase, thinking its a field airstrip for the british in ww1, only to be apprehended by the american army. The Captain he refers to is a friend of his, who he left to die when a bunch of pilots attacked, and is amazed to hear that in the timeline he is in, not only is said captain mackeye alive, but also an Air Marshall, one who was visiting the base that day soon. They say they will bring in Mackeye to confirm the mans identity and story, but Decker is apprehensive, and dislikes the idea. He admits to being a coward, leaving his friend behind, and generally avoiding conflict and whatnot, going as far as to shoot holes in his cockpit walls to impress his friends. On his way back to base after abandoning Mackeye, he flew through the cloud that teleported him to the present day of that time, and has a revelation while awaiting Mackeye in a detainment cell. No one was near them to save Mackeye, so for no reason Mackeye shouldve lived. Realizing this, Decker demands to be let go to take off back into the skies to go back and save Mackeye. his detainers refuse at first, but he ultimately attacks them and runs to the airstrip, attacking a mechanic who stops him. One of his detainers has him at gunpoint as he climbs into his ship, threatening to shoot if he doesn't get out of the plane, but Decker stares him down and tells him to fire. Impressed by his resolve and shocked that he may just be right, he doesn't shoot, and Decker takes off into the skies, flying into the cloud and vanishing. His CO is pissed at him, but Mackeye shows up while hes being reprimanded. They ask Mackeye about Decker, who responds wistfully, fondly, claiming that Decker had saved his life. He flew off at first when they were attacked by 7 german planes but suddenly divebombed out of the sky, taking out several before being shot down and dying, saving Mackeyes life. Even further shockingly, the officers ask Mackeye if they ever recovered any of decker's personal effects, badges, id, pins and whatnot, since german fighters would return those of pilots shot down by them. Upon stating no, the officer pulls out a paper envelope they contained the ones taken from decker just half an hour prior, presenting them to Mackeye, who confirms the identity in the ID picture, and professes his shock and questions how they got the items. The officers sit him down for the story, one of which even further confirming the validity by calling Mackeye by a nickname only Decker wouldve known, but told one of the officers while they were sitting in his detainment cell. The episode ends there.

The next time you go fly abroad while your sitting there in the airplane, one of two things might happen: you see a "man on the wing" trying to destroy the outboard engine, or your on a odyssey going back and forward in time. Whatever happens. Would anyone believe you? "There is a 5th dimension....."
