@@miklovvin the episode, decker realizes that something must’ve helped mackaye escape those german planes, he basically escapes the base and gets back in his planes, flying into the clouds, he travels back in time to take out 3 german planes before being shot down, essentially giving cap mackaye the chance to live those dogfights, resulting in mackaye to come to the base in the present and tell them that Deckard saved him, because time travel is basically instant. it all circles back, deckard originally ran away from the dog fight, time traveled into the future and realized his cowardice, time traveled back and saved mackaye.
I think movies been crap since the 1960s cause of the sex in movies. Cause dumb ass people protested to end the Hollywood censors which prevented nudity in movies.
Twilight Zone, when writers were writing original material, the plots of which have been Twisted yet copied countless times. the original themes become stuck in our mind.
it was made in the late 50s and you actin like you remember that shit. there have also been plenty of other really well thought out shows throughout history. do you think before you speak?
At That Point I don’t Know what would be more likely; the odds that random, spontaneous time travel is possible, or someone decided to play the worlds most expensive and elaborate prank on the US military
I love the fact that instead of being believed literally almost immediately, they stuck to the 'this guy is a fucking nutball; what he's saying is impossible and we don't believe it'
Just watched it on Paramount, great show which brought back some fond memories of watching these shows as a spellbound child. They so often did a great job back then.
I just went to Prime Video and watched it too. I was disappointed that we didn’t see the Commander’s face when he was told what happened. How Decker landed. Believing he left his friend to die and then went back to save him!
This is fantastic. The theme, the historical background, the fact it was filmed mere 15 years after the end of WWII. The redemption arc. It actually brought me to tears after it ended. I’ll have to watch the entire series now and this episode, I’ll probably rewatch many times again.
This was episode 18 titles The Time Traveling Pilot. The Time Traveling Soldier was episode 130 and was opposite of this episode. Soldiers from the present went to the past.
What if at that moment, Macaye wasn't on his way, but had disappeared because he'd died in 1917? But if that were the case, why would everyone else remember him? Maybe he somehow didn't die, and still remembered the lieutenant, but as a coward, just as he feared? So many questions! That's what made the original TZ so great!
I think the timeline of him going back was inevitable so the timeline of Mack being alive was true. It’s a weird situation where Macaye being alive causing the pilot (forget his name) to go back and save him which keeps him alive.
With ONLY from what I'm getting, I could say that Alexander traveled from 1917 to the future (which would mean that he used to live in 1917) and lived in the future (would mean that he traveled in the future faster that him if in a case they were at the same place) or he either traveled from the future to 1917, getting this man knowing him and also traveling to the future where Alexander is alive because he didn't really die or he did because he returned to 1917 after living in the future or he lived in the future and die in the past with alexander acknowledging his death but traveling in the past of its own timeline All this doesn't include that he would be neceserarily traveling to another timeline because in theory timeline have therefore their own past , present and future, meaning he could have traveled to the main timeline but in the past. It's kinda weird but that's the timeline theory. For dbs watchers/readers when black goku kill goku , his wife and goten it's still in the main timeline but different temporality, letting people to believe it's another timeline
I haven't seen this episode yet but i just watched the other clips before this and i did not see that coming. Time travel with possible alternate timelines? I gotta go watch the episode now
Jus watched , as a 16 yro who is used to modern movies/episodes, I genuinely loved it , all the actors were not messed with like they would be now a days, there was no outside opinions bieng forced onto it and it was rlly enjoyable 😅
This is my favorite Twilight Zone episode. I bought the complete series a couple of years ago, and I am spoiled for choice, however, I still like this episode the best.
I remember watching the twilight zone on tv back when you can just plug it up to the wall and watch tv. Hell I remember when the tv use to “go off” at night and they played the national anthem and a bunch of horizontal colored lines would appear . Station off the air till morning.
