The original version of this song is on The White Album and is called Revolution 1. When they decided to release it as a single, John wanted to keep the slower, blusier version of the song, but Paul and George convinced John to record the song again with a faster tempo and more of a hard rock style. In the record released, which went number 1, you don't hear all the backing vocals you hear on the film, though. This was recorded in 1968! Still a great song fifty one years later. BTW, Ringo Starr just released a new album called What's My Name, so he and Paul are still making new music today.
Dude on the drums is Ringo, main singer of this song: John Lennon, 2 singers on the side: Paul McCartney and George Harrison. John Lennon was murdered in the year 1980 by a "fan". He actually got John to give him an autograph not even a couple of hours before he murdered John in an alley in New York outside of his apartment building. George Harrison passed away. Ringo is still making some music but you don't hear too much from him. Paul McCartney...... well everyone knows he's still got his magic and is still everywhere.
Rick Perry... Just a minor correction to what you posted. John and Yoko had just returned from recording studios and after they stepped out of the limo they rode in, John was shot from behind in front of the Dakota Arms where they lived. Everything else you posted is correct.
To give you an idea of how big this band is the singer John Lennon would have a net worth of $800 million if he were alive, his widow yoko ono has a net worth of $600 million and their son Sean Lennon has a net worth of $200 million, drummer Ringo Starr has a net worth of $350 million, George Harrison, wearing red and with the red guitar had a net worth of $400 million when he died, Paul McCartney who is the blue and gives the scream at the beginning has a net worth of $1,200 billion. Imagine how big your band would have to be where the poorest person is worth $350 million and the combined band net worth is $2,750 billion. I'm not sure but Paul could be the first or only billionaire rock musician if not musician period.
Hey Twin Men... a Beatles Fan from 1964 here....Bought all Records back in "The Day" when they came out.... did you Know Revolution was the B side with Hey Jude the A side, their First Apple Label Record own by The Beatles.... Hey Jude was the # 1 Record of 1968.... man I'm Old !
You need to watch the rooftop concert. The keyboard player was Billie Preston (the fifth Beatle). These guys were prolific songwriters and started the evolution to today's music
The/ate great, Nicky Hopkins on Electric Piano gives "Revolution a big lift, boosting it from a good Beatles song to one of their all-time greatest! Hopkins was the most in-demand studio musician in England and in the USA for decades.. I love the part in the middle when Hopkins takes the lead on piano with Harrison and Lennon providing counterpoint with distorted guitars.
Dude! It's cool that you brought a squire -at - arms to the gathering, cause it is much more fun when you listen together and shoot ideas back and forth! Big fucking embrace to the new man-at-arms!
Your brother has made this channel one of the best. His venture into all genre of music, open minded, and passion makes it so much fun to watch him discover.
Nicky Hopkins on piano...Rare occasion a session musician was used on a Beatle track...Eric Clapton was used on the 'White Album' and Billy Preston on the 'Let it Be Album'...Altho a great track viewed today by younger folk will not sound as ground breaking as a lot of Beatle tracks sounded at the time...With no distortion pedals available back then the guitars of George and John were apparently put directly into the mixing console to achieve the 'overdrive' we see commonly on amps today as standard...In context they were doing stuff and using techniques common today but new at the time...and we tend to miss that when heard alongside todays music when most stuff has all been done before...And check for George telling Paul that 'John's mic is shite' at 1.01...
Oh to be young again, man you guys are so young that you don't remember the controversy on this song being licensed to Nike to sell their shoes back in '88. Like the channel & subbed.
Just a few facts about the Beatles. You mentioned the views it had. The 50th anniversary release of the Abbey Road album a couple of months ago hit number one on the charts AGAIN. They have sold somewhere over 1.5 billion records and counting. The next best does not even have half that. In April or May of 1964 they had the top 5 songs on the charts at the same time while also having the top 2 albums on the charts. Again ALL at the same time. No one has even come close to that kind of domination of music. That does not get into the influence they had on world culture during that time either. That is a subject that takes into account more than just music.
Greetings from Brazil. Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Roling Stones, Genesis are on a higher plane than other rock ensembles; They are real dinosaurs that in 30 or 40 years, your children or grandchildren will listen and enjoy and the songs will always be considered in good taste.
There are actually three versions of this song by the Beatles! You both should also react to the single version, which is slightly different from the video you watched, and to the laid back version from the White album called Revolution 1. Good reaction. Btw, don't react to Revolution 9! It is not a song and the other members tried desperately to keep it off of the White album but John Lennon insisted that it would be put on there! It drew great criticism from many of their fans.
Im African American and 64 years old and could understand why these kids like this music. The Beatles revolutionized the music industry and were highly talented. I dont think they are going to stop listening to hip hop and go out and buy Beatles records but this particular song has enough rough edges to attract young black kids. I see alot of these types of videos on Utube and frankly with this one Im surprised The Beatles didnt take it down! Id now like to see white kids listening to Earth Wind and Fire or War or The Commodores and see their comments. Ive yet to see that!
Listen to their slower version of this song on their White Album. It's laid back and very cool. No shit. I'm a 1st generation Beatles fan starting in 1964 at 11 years old. They are still the best and their music changed the world! Too bad you couldn't be there. They were always a world event when their new album came out! We had to "WAIT" until it came out. Now, you can listen to any song at any time. We experienced all of their music in chronological order. It was amazing!
There are actually three different versions of this song released by Apple Records. The hard rocking version. The do-wop version and the one where John sneaks in the word "in" right after singing count me out. He said at the time he had come to the conclusion that while undesirable it conceivably might take violence to elicit meaningful change in society. He said he was now ambivalent about it.
Hey lads! You two are the best doing reaction videos by a country mile, because you listen along with the viewer and then you talk about the track. That means that us viewers get to share and enjoy the journey with you. You can't get better than The Beatles mate. : - ) Try " Thick As A Brick " by Jethro Tull filmed live. I wish you rainbows.
I love the Beatles...Ringo is 79...Google his current picture...I think he might be Dracula (or Dorian Gray...you may have to google that as well) :) Peace!
They experimented with all kinds of stuff on this song to get different and new sounds. This was before distortion pedals. They stuck yarn needles in the amp speakers.
Al Rivers It’s more like progressive rock. The Beatles did not exist in a vacuum, you cannot give them credit for everything. There were loads of great bands around, before, during and after their reign. The were influenced by many great artists as all bands are
Written and recorded in the turbulent year of 1968. An anarchist group asked The Beatles and Rolling Stones to lead a revolution to overthrow the governments. The answers were "you can count me out" and "ain't no place for a street fighting man. The Beatles = the greatest band of all-time.
Keep the reactions coming! You have to watch this video of Led Zeppelin performing How many more times. It's one of their first live performances. Since they are playing on such a small stage it really showcases each member's talent 🤙m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wEPog_WdPE4.html
If you're looking for more Beatles songs to check out, give a listen to "Dear Prudence" (the 2018 remaster sounds amazing), "I Am The Walrus", "Nowhere Man", "Happiness Is a Warm Gun", "Tomorrow Never Knows", "We Can Work It Out", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", and a full catalog of others -- too many to list really -- and if you've got the time, the Abbey Road Medley in its entirety.
React to the Trial by Pink Floyd please. Other Pink Floyd songs too but that one, first, you'll see why. Look up the clip from their movie (based on their album) The Wall, again you'll see why it's better than just the audio. Hold on ta yar butts. Edit: And every other Beatles song too, lol
I think u should take a listen to John Lennons solo work imagine, how do you sleep? and working class hero ! 💗 I would love to hear your thoughts! Great work again
I ALL WAYS ASK YOUNG POEPEL WHAT BAND NOW HAS ALL THE OTHER BANDS WATEING FOR THE NEXT SONG THEY DO LIKE THE BEATLES HAD. IT IS SIMPLE THERE WILL NEVER BE A BAND AS INFLUENCTIAL AS THE BEATLES.
Try reacting to another Beatles classic- Helter Skelter- probably the first "hard rock" song out then(and from the Beatles no less!)....I could be wrong
