Here's another trip in megalopolis with the commuter and cargo trains from my special build in Cities Skylines 2.
About the project
A mini-series that will take everyone to see the evolution of a city from its beginnings and expanding into a big city. It currently has a population of 200,000 and is still profitable!

incredible work!! wow just wow, the different city areas flow so seamlessly into each other and I especially enjoyed the use of the river area with the train and pathways going through 😍 10/10 skill

This shows very well the game's promise and flaws. Under a grandmaster builder, beautiful cities can be built even with unmodded CS:2. The train models are gorgeous (even if the cargo trains are far too "shiny"). It is much easier to build a multi-leveled city in CS:2 than it was with CS:1. The camera mode, save for the occasional weird movement, did a great job following the trains and completely replaces the old graphic mods. But the problems remain. The farms still look awful. There are no little animations unlike in CS:1 - no excuse that the cargo cranes should just sit silently with trains coming and going like that. The train doors should open and close. There's still a lack of detail in so much of the build because detailing tools are absent, and even developer mode can't really replace them. The color scheme is still very grey overall - while the cartoon colors of CS:1 could be very obnoxious, CS:2 goes to the opposite extreme, except where it SHOULDN'T be shiny and new (like the cargo trains). There is much work yet to be done on CS:2 before it realizes its full potential, especially under grandmaster builders like you and Akuras. That time will come, but it is not there yet.

Just a note... I downloaded the save game Palmsland from Nexusmods specifically because it was labeled LHD. It is not. It is RHD/LHT. I gave up trying to get it LHD.
