I grew up in the Florida Keys, one time I put twin 50 horse 2-stroke Mercury he's on the back of a 14ft mirrocraft flat bottom Jon Boat! Needless to say I blew the thing over twice! I figured my top speed was around 75 miles an hour even with the nose trimmed and me sitting in the Val I could not keep the nose on them water that flat bottom Hall just picked up too much are! Love the vid thank you
Arr the serenity! Lol great video made me laugh. You realise you will never be happy with a slow single egg beater tinny ever again. 66 kph doesn't sound that far but when it's on the water that's a great speed out of that package you put together. The next test would be can you tow a skier with it? Great video cheers for posting it.
Great video. Love it when these boats get modified. You will free up some speed if you raise the engine height. The "Angel Wings" the engines are throwing out to the side are an indication of being too deep....then play with adding cup to the 13" props. BTW.....also saw a Merc 200hp on a 14' Tinnie tonight as well....look it up on here. Not kidding!
the motors are 15" on a 20" transom you cant go any higher without 2 custom stainless props and the angel wings are from water off the lower bracket not the lower unit...only way that rig goes faster is with bigger props period 15 p stainless high rake perf props.
Sweet. I have a 3.5 m Hawker DeHavilland made by an aircraft company that diversified into boats. Forward controls and a 9.5 hp Johnson delivered standard. I modified the transom to handle a 35 HP long shaft Evinrude which tops out at 50 kph. Short shaft Evinrudes are rare. I also run various other 25 hp Evinrudes on the boat as well as a rare Sportster motor Evinrude made in 1972. Your boat is a classic hang onto it👍
Hi! did the same with 2*30 hp merc\tohatsu outboards back in 2015, tested it both at river and at the Black Sea (over 2000 miles on the salt water), won a race with it, goes faster than single 60 actually) the setup is ok, as long as you find the correct props!
@@netikracing it's an old riveted 16' aircraft aluminum soviet hull from the late 1960's made from surplus airplane materials, called "Progress" here, so I doubt it will help where you're from. They are pretty common here, so I bought a hull to restore in the 60's style, when they had 2 outboards as a factory option. Here's what I I got.

@@netikracing This is why men are cool. We build and create sometimes just to make others and ourselves feel good. Keep going, it reminds me of the James Bond Engineering Lab. Your the American Version of Q.
does it affect your transom on your boat with the weight of 2 out boards in a engineering sense? what size motor was the hull rated for originally?...but is a great set up and fast little boat
Hello. get a counter-rotating propeller, and swap forward and reverse on this motor! You will be amazed how much better the boat is and how much faster it gets!
Finally someone that comprehends what my other comment means! I said the same thing, in different words, and was told it wouldn’t matter and would make it slower😂 With that being said… Can you imagine that thing with a 12” or 16” jack plate, with hydraulic height adjustment, and power trim?!? SHEEEEEZUUUSS that’d be one wicked little b@stard!!!
People think that you go out fishing around the bend a few miles away. Usualy you runn about 45-1 hour tothe first fishing spot .Then several miles to other spots. 20 miles normal. The peace of mind to have Twin outboars amazing. I run a 12 Ft Starcrcraft with twin 15 Hp. Pace of mind.Ok till today and for 40 yrs my single Hasn't failed me even when way out yonder. But?
Chuck some 15 pitch props on. Hard to find but on such a light tiny you'd get away with it lol. Running twin 30's on my centre console 5.2m rib at 60kmph. Must be heavier than your tinny hence I think you can prop up a bit lol
Check out the different gear ratios for more speed lol your wasting fuel those engines will rev and not go any faster. but that's The highest pitch prop you can buy for that engine the older 25 xds have better props for speed
