@@Nonesovile96 well Tarantino’s last film was pretty bad, and he basically reached his peak 25 years ago so yeah, whatever he says. I think Lynch will be remembered as one of the defining directors in cinema history, whereas Tarantino has dialogue where everyone speaks like him and film fetichism. He’s not bad but he’s not in a position to criticize. Best thing he’s done the last twenty year is mention and give exposure to foreign directors with huge talent, kind of like Scorsese did with european directors like Wojciech Has.
His movies require multiple viewings and the recent restorations in the last decade have helped it a lot. It used to have a soapy dated 90s look and feel to it.
Up until today I thought Fire Walk with Me was a demo composed by way of an edit of parts from the series. But as it seems it is a film of it´s own, made AFTER the series. All this because of the fact that I watched FWWM long before the series. And I only saw the series very recently.
This movie is bad because it's constructed as 2 tv episodes one after another, also it made no sense all this action occured before the one of the tv show.
It’s her story before she was killed by ______ In no way is it two tv shows. It is it’s own thing completely. You don’t even need to watch Twin Peaks to get Fire Walk with Me. The whole point is that Laura gets her story and we are privileged to even see that. She wasn’t just some dead teenager. She had a whole life that was interesting and sad.
I don't know about that you can understand completely Fire walk with me without watching series before, as there are a lot of cross references which complete the story for both series and a movie.
