A tribute to Laura Palmer from Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me. The song is from Julee Cruise: Questions In A World Of Blue. I do not own the rights to Twin Peaks or any other properties.
Beautiful tribute. Laura Palmer is a character that will stick with me forever. Never have i felt such gut wrenching sorrow for a fictional character before... I just want to huge her and take her away from the pain.
I've lost my heart to Laura Palmer and to Sheryl Lee. I love both the character and the actress. I didn't watch "Fire Walk With Me" in 1992. I watched it this year. I think that some scenes should have been cut, because they are too disturbing. This film is really heartbreaking, nevertheless it's a masterpiece, a true work of art. "Fire Walk With Me" is really underrated. It's a picture of the tragedy of Laura Palmer and at the same time a tribute to her and to all the girls and women who suffered (and are suffering) for abuses suffered by monsters. Yes, I call them monsters, because who is responsible for such horrors is not a human being, is a monster. Those monsters deserve only death penalty. I'm a man and I love this film. It made me sad, but it made me think too. Laura Palmer looks really like an angel from the sky...and I really love her so much. Her tragedy, her facial expressions made my cry. I'm saying the truth. Laura Palmer was beautiful, lovely, sweet and good. She fell into the abyss of the dark side, but she was not responsible for her behavior, because she became mentally-ill after being abused. Sheryl Lee starred Laura Palmer. She is a wonderful actress. I didn't understand if Laura was really saved by Dale Cooper in the 3rd season.
On a recent rewatch of this I think that the Log Lady is actually Laura's real mum. I know that's pretty out there esp for Twin Peaks but she is the only one who really gets Laura. Sarah is possessed by Jowdah, Leland by Bob and the rest of the town just see her as the Prom Queen who eventually took the wrong track. The Log Lady was different and had a psychic connection with her and tried to help her in her very cryptic way.
A few of the scenes from fire walk with me make me remember being a teenager, the way she says "right" after saying that bobby killed a guy as if she lost track of her thoughts, the way she clutches Harolds shirt saying through her teeth "bob is real before" holding onto him and shrieking, shaking when pages in her diary are missing, nothing being as it seems... Yet for the most part I am glad to have lived a life of safety and privilege that Laura did not, and I got to grow up. I will always be grateful to Sheryll Lee's acting for capturing something I haven't seen elsewhere - tortured, supernatural girlhood. Does anyone else here relate to Laura?
