And so much more talented than most of the other "Hair Bands". Probably seen them a dozen times over the years and will be seeing them this summer as well.
In this video, Jeff Keith is singing. Guitarist on the left is Tommy Skoech. Guitarist on the right is Frank Hannon. Bassist is Brian Wheat and drummer is Troy Lucckuttta
I wish young people today would bring this kind of rock n roll back. You guys have no idea what your missing. The 80s were the best time to be alive and that started with the 🎶 music
Tesla is an amazing band, can't go wrong with almost anything they've done. Vocals: Jeff Keith Guitar: Frank Hannon (I would say main lead) Guitar: Tommy Skeoch Bass Brain: Wheat Drums: Troy Luccketta Tommy and Troy are no longer in the band. Tommy was kicked out for drug issues and Troy just recently retired from touring.
Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch were the Two guitarests in Tesla at this Time, they both switched lead work, Brian Wheat is the Bassist, Troy Luketa is the Drummer and Jeff Keith is the Vocalist they are from Sacremento, Californai
Here’s what I can tell you about this powerhouse called Tesla. They are a rock band from Sacramento California. The Original members that you see in the video are bassist Brian Wheat, Drummer Troy Luccketta, the two bad ass guitar players are Tommy Skeoch (dark currly hair) and the one you’ve commented on is virtuoso Frank Hannon. Rounding out the band is Lead Singer Jeff Keith. (Interesting fact about Jeff) Jeff was a big rig truck driver before joining Tesla. He taught himself to sing practicing in his truck. They weren’t exactly a glam rock band like the other bands hitting in the 80’s, so they didn’t get they’re flowers immediately. But those who know absolutely love these guys. The did really well in spite of their toned down rock style. “Love Song” is their biggest hit. No debating that. It’s a great song. My favorite songs from them are “What You Give”, “No Way Out (Heaven’s Trail)” and the live acoustic cover of the song “Signs” And yes, compared to the other great musicians of their era they are definitely among the very best to ever play and yes they are over looked much too often when the best of the best conversations get started. There is definintely a case to be made for Frank Hannon for rock guitar GOAT as you both have noticed. I haven’t checked in a while but think these guys still tour - only different members are drummer Troy and Bassist Brian are different. If you can get the opportunity to see Frank and Tommy play guitar live you guys should. They’re still a great live band!
Frank Hannon is the Guitarist. Saw Frank start a concert with a 7 minute solo playing a America shaped guitar, had never saw the guitarist start a concert by himself like that
"kids" ( with love ) Tesla was Amazing live. Every Time......(most bands, at that time, Were HIT and Miss) lm 53. NO BS, Bands "played" back then. Enjoy........
They opened with "Comin' Atcha Live" in June of 1986,at the Fast & Cool Club, in Lubbock, TX (blocks from Texas Tech U, no longer there 😢) I gpt to hang out with them after the show for an hour or so. I was invited to get on their bus to go to the Texas Jam, at Cowboys Stadium. Being the 17 yr old turk I was, I said I had to be at work the next morning...doh! 😩 😆
Knew you guys would love them! Yes, Frank Hannon on guitar...seen them at least a dozen times, they play at Hampton Beach, NH & once his Dad marked your ticket stub to receive a CD of them doing covers of their favorite classic rock songs 😁
Absolutely agree with the underrated bands comments!! Just saw them 2 nights ago in their hometown Sacramento where I have lived 20+ years. AMAZING! A couple even brought their family on stage. Jeff Keith is singer and he brought his mom on stage. Frank Hannon is guitarist and he brought family on stage.
Early years is Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch. Current line up on guitar is Frank Hannon and Dave Rude and yes. They are by far one of the most underrated bands of all time
I was 16 in 1986 when this song was released. It was their first song and the next summer they opened up for Def Leppard on the Hysteria Tour...the one with the round stage in the video for "Pour Some Sugar on Me." Been in my top 3 bands since with Guns n Roses, Poison, AC/DC and Zeppelin. What You Give Love Song Edison's Medicine Mama's Fool Heavens Trail The Way It Goes Save That Goodness Signs
The band's original line-up consisted of lead vocalist Jeff Keith, guitarists Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch, bassist Brian Wheat, and drummer Robert Contreras
They named the band after inventor Nikola Tesla, if you want the real history of electricity etc? Look him up, watch a legit biography of him. That made me an even bigger fan of this band, knowing what they know and learning from it.
Frank Hannon is the lead. Tommy Skeoch is the other. Arguably one of the best duos ever. Frank is a very bad man on guitar. Please, Please go down this rabbit hole. Also, their 5 Man Acoustical Jam live album is what started the whole MTV Unplugged craze. You should check it out.
Tesla fucking rocks. So many great songs but were always openers for bigger acts. They just never could break that top tier to be on top of the bills, which is unfortunate because whenever they opened they often times would be better than the main acts.
These are the 2 main guitarist throughout Tesla's existence. Frank and the bassist Brian Wheat were founders of band called City Kid, which became Tesla with the joining of the other members. Tommy Skeoch - guitar, backing vocals (1984-1994, 1995, 2000-2006) Frank Hannon - guitar, backing vocals, keyboards, piano, organ, theremin, bass, mandolin, harmonica (1981-1996, 2000-present)
Frank Hannon lead guitar.. Brian Wheat bass Tommy scough rhythm guitar.Troy Lucietta on drums.Jrff Kieth vocals ..this was their first hit.. That lick was written by Tommy but he couldn't play it that fast so he asked Frank to do it
Y'all really need to hear and see Mr. Big - Addicted To That Rush. If you want to see a bass player play his bass like a lead guitar player this is the video you must see
Great song, from a great band, but if you really want to see fast guitar playing, check out the band Dragon Force, with their song (Through the Fire and Flames). I've heard a lot of fast songs and fast guitar players, but these guys are on another level!!!
