I laugh until I cry when I watch this. We built our house on an acre of land and planted 13 oak trees around our home. We were young and didn’t know we would have a squirrel colony living with us. I tried every squirrel proof bird feeder on the market. The last straw was when I found a squirrel sitting quietly in my bird feeder hiding like a statue when he heard me walk onto the porch. I took a picture of him and still laugh about. I did love seeing the nests and babies. We lived in that house for 45 years and then sold it to move to the beach. Now I just watch other peoples squirrel videos. Yours is the best.

All I can tell you folks (animal lovers included) is that after he jiggled in the bushes for a few seconds, he ran down the sidewalk in a straight line and took a right at the driveway. He still hangs out in our yard with his buddy, so I don't think he sustained any permanent damage. First time I've been called a neanderthal, though :-)

I have tried everything to keep squirrels away from my bird feeder that I installed at my family cottage for three years now, I believe that I found a concoction of a cone + grease that was impenetrable, I thought “mission accomplished”…only to discover now that they launch themselves from a higher point of a tree 10 feet away and perfectly stick the landing on to the feeder! Then when done feeding the squirrel I watched just slide down the pole to the cone and hopped down as casual as can be, Lol I could swear he looked at me and winked before hopping away, news dejected. Now I give up, they have all earned my respect. Some squirrels fail but at this point, I just stock up the feeder and leave there with an understanding that no matter what food source it is, it always belongs to the most athletic squirrels first, then the birds.

I saw this 10 years ago and Laughed so hard. As I am laughing writing this. Anyone who tries to feed birds gets involved with squirrels, and can never win. This squirrel spinning around like crazy is so funny. But I know he thinks this is the greatest joy ride ever. And he will be back for more.
