Flown entirely with the stock power combo on 360 mah and 450 mah batteries.
Thanks to Matt Dunkel and Gary Hoffman for the camera work!
The Crack Laser takes everything you know and love about the Crack Yak, Crack Pitts, and Crack Yak Lite and brings it to the next level. Designed from the outset for the lower wing and power loadings of the Lite series construction, the Crack Laser delivers the best performance to date in an EPP foamy!
The Crack Laser is the first Twisted airplane designed entirely with 3D CAD and analysis software by team member Cody Wojcik. This design approach gave us new insights into aircraft performance and characteristics, and allowed us to achieve our performance goals better than ever before! Large ailerons with huge inboard and outboard counterbalances provide an insane roll rate that stays absolutely consistent at all airspeeds and power settings. A carefully shaped fuselage with T-canalizer provides for great lateral lift and rock solid stability, making knife-edge and precision rolling maneuvers easy and consistent. The stiffening SFG's on the ailerons and elevator, combined with carefully chosen moments and areas make for an incredibly precise and true feeling in the air...you can push, pull, and yaw has hard as you want and the Crack Laser stays perfectly true with zero coupling. The trademark Crack step in the wing makes for perfect harriers without sacrificing high roll rates and quick response. Remarkably, all of this occurs at slow, consistent airspeeds, allowing you to feel comfortable flying hard in a gym or small back yard!
This refined design, combined with RCFactory's revolutionary construction techniques, brings you an incredibly capable and durable airplane that builds in a snap. Top it all off with an extreme yet classy paint scheme and the Crack Laser is a must have for extreme pilots of all skill levels!

Well Cody, I have been on the forums as Zoey Taylor and I must say your plane is stunning. I bought mine and flew it this weekend after on and off building for two weeks. I blew away veteran rc pilots with the fact I could roll and stunt with no prior knowledge of RC to speak of. I asked many questions and got much help on the forums and I loved your plane for the two days I flew it. I lost it in the Alaska Tundra the other night and after two days searching the creeks I am ashamed to say it's gone, but I am buying yet another from you because it was truly that amazing to me. I would recommend to all readers who might not be sold just yet from the video (how could you not??? I was) to bite the bullet and order this plane. The build is frustrating but the end result makes you appreciate it all the more, and you cant do anything severe enough to cripple it, I flew straight lines when I wanted even after multiple breaks, a bad control rod build, a stripped servo, you name it. This was a great experience until the end and now here we go again :) Thanks Cody.

Thanks Zoey, glad you like the airplane, and I'm sorry you lost your first one. Please message me on RCG if you have any other questions during the build of the second one (it will go much faster than the first, I promise).

Every time I watch this I learn something... incredible flying. And the TH aircraft are amazing... it would be difficult to assemble the "simple" Crack Wing in all white with precession without careful measuring and marking where the foam must line up as with all the cutouts when putting in the 2 spars the EPP shifts side to side very easily just by pushing in on the EPP so it contacts and adheres to the spars well, but the paint design with its two rows of very fine lines and other straight line indicators let you see exactly where to place the foam as you progress from one area to the next so it assembles straight and flies well. There are so many little things done right like the rounded EPP hinges that add up it's easy to overlook how much thought and experience went in to the TH designs.

Well deserved and thanks for making so many good 3D plane kits available to feed the addiction;-) Nothing is better than opening up a kit and finding such attention to detail and consistent quality manufacturing.

Between this and the mxs-c, which would be better for low hovers and turnarounds outside?
@cwojcik_rc

The Laser would be better. It's slower and easier to fly.

FOR someone wanting to get into 3d is this the best choice (the laser)? I do fly planes (not really 3d other than rolling, upside down, ect..) not 3d planes like this one with the huge control throws. I'm asking cause also the yak 55 looks pretty good too. I like slow so the slower the better for me. THANKS

You’ll love this plane. It’s definitely a good, slow plane to learn 3D with it you have a little experience.

i'm torn between this and the crack yak. any thoughts? (I know, get 'em both, right? ;p)
@cwojcik_rc
@cwojcik_rc 10 лет назад
The Laser is a bit more precise and has a faster roll rate. The Yak is crazier and has more pitch and yaw authority.

Cody Wojcik thx for the reply cody. so, I see...for precise things like say, snap roll to a hover the laser would be better, more precise and the yak would be better for say, knife edges, maneuvers requiring good rudder authority. am I on the right track? i'm a noob to 3d and I wanna get a first 3d plane that I can really grow into.
@cwojcik_rc
@cwojcik_rc 10 лет назад
I would say the Crack Yak is better for spins, tumbles, and traditional 3D like harriers, hovers, waterfalls, and rolling harriers. The Crack Yak is better for knife edge, slow rolls, rifle rolls, and snaps. However both planes will do it all.
