Spectre as a Dodge Viper never made much sense but yeah, it's the cooler looking version of it.

NGL, I mained Flower Power despite everything just because of how hot the vehicle's driver was. 🤣

Weird ask, but a tier list of the levels in each game would be super fun to hear about. Some are way more fun in each game than others, and a number are really fun and creative. I’d love to hear your thoughts on those.

Club Kid was always my favorite in this game. His portal special and just the look of the car itself just vibed with me.

The main advantage Auger has over Mr slamm with its special is that you dont need to time the extra damage output unlike Mr slamm

I would bump up Warthog to B. His special may have been nerfed, but it's still a clear tier above the remaining C and D tier characters. Plus with the back spam a slightly nerfed special means little when you can freeze an enemy, drive past, and just delete them.

One thing that can improve Hammerhead is to auto-trigger shield during special. Minion gets a free freeze. So somebody needs to get a free shield

I like to think any character that never returns got killed in the last Twisted Metal contest. As such Specter and Hammerhead are probably cursed cars.

I've been doing a full twisted metal series playthrough and making tier lists alongside you and a few other youtubers! so happy to see this game having a resurgence. here's my personal tier list for 3, based purely on gameplay. THIS TIER LIST IS BASED PURELY OFF OF HOW WELL THE VEHICLES PERFORM DURING THEIR SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN IN MY EXPERIENCE. I'VE BEATEN THE GAME ON NORMAL MODE WITH EVERY CHARACTER. . . TWISTED METAL 3 (CHEATS: HOMING RAIN & AI DOESN'T SEEK HEALTH) . . S TIER MINION - It's Minion. Basically the easy mode of the game. However you still have to be careful fighting the other bosses. Not even Minion is immune to Darkside's freeze spam, Minion's freeze spam, and Primeval's bounce house of a special. The weapons are overall a lot weaker in this game too so you can't just rip through opponents. Not to mention ramming does nothing in this game so you will still actually have to focus on the game with Minion. A TIER THUMPER - Similar to nearly every appearance Thumper has, his special is devastating if you can land all of it. The unique thing is that in this game, it also has massive knockback meaning you can snag a super easy kill on the final boss. The duration is also a lot shorter meaning it may be harder to land but you're almost never firing it unless an opponent is cornered or frozen. OUTLAW - Outlaw is a character that can take advantage of the rear-fire glitch. Personally, I don't find it super useful in single player except against boss characters. Building up 5-6 of their specials and then rapidly rear firing them all can launch a character so high into the air that they fly out of the map and die. This just requires too much buildup to do consistently but even if you don't insta kill them, all the specials firing at once can do massive damage. Like in other games, you're supposed to be unable to use other weapons with this special activate. If you rear fire, however, you can use whatever other weapons you want. The damage is quite weak with just one but you can group up opponents and fire off 2-3 for massive, easy damage. SPECTRE - The best glass cannon in this game. While the ghost missile is significantly weaker than other games, it's an easy fire and forget weapon. Combined with Spectre's unreal speed stat and good handling, you've got a car that can hit and run with the best of them. This is especially useful against the bosses that like to end you instantly if you're caught. B TIER SWEET TOOTH - This fuck does not die. Sweet Tooh is so heavily armored in this game, it's quite ridiculous. His special is quite forgiving with it's explosion radius and is capable of a lot of damage across many targets at once. His speed leaves a lot to be desired but the biggest issue is the game's physics. He's quite easily flipped over and this leaves you helpless for a solid couple seconds. On the reverse, he's quite good at flipping opponents over. But at the end of the day, he's a bit too slow and clunky to reach top tier. CLUB KID - Yes, Club Kid has the best special in the game. Even if you don't use it to insta-kill every opponent, it's basically an AOE freeze that lasts longer and does a good amount of damage. However, Club Kid is awful in every single other stat. He's barely average speed, has no armor, and handles alright. So unless you're playing with infinite specials or are just really well versed in Twisted Metal 3, he's an average car. Without his special, he'd likely be in D tier. WARTHOG - Ah yes. The most basic a car can get. He's the mini-minion. This guy takes a beating but he's slow as hell. Unfortunately due to the way Twisted Metal 3 works, being slow is an absolute curse and he doesn't really have enough armor to make the trade-off worth it, nor does he have a super powerful special. He's not bad but you can do better. C TIER ROADKILL - Roadkill has got to be the ugliest car in nearly every iteration, and that's on purpose, but especially so in this game. This car is fucking hideous. But actually getting to how he plays, yeah he's okay. The most 4/10 character you can imagine. A special that's finicky but can do damage. Speed that's alright but isn't pushing it. Armor that's enough to survive but not much else. He's really just an average all-around character. MR. GRIMM - I hardly ever favor Grimm in my tier lists. Maybe it's a lack of skill but I feel that his glass cannon status is usually never worth it in comparison to Spectre. It varies by game but I think especially so in this one. While it isn't as freeze-spammy is other games in this series, the AI love to freeze and can dump a LOT of damage into you. The risk-reward in this game is so heavily skewed because if you get caught even once, you're dead, especially against bosses. His special, while one of the stronger ones, still does very little damage due to just how weak weapons are in this game. At the end of the day, he's just not worth the risk. Try Spectre. AXEL - The beast from Twisted Metal 2 slots real low in this one. Axel feels quite weak in this game, not really having much of an identity. In 2, he was a beast with ramming, but since the ramming is neutered here he can't really do much. His special is a great "get off me" tool but other than that, his stats aren't much to care about. D TIER FIRESTARTER - Play Thumper. No, really just play Thumper. Firestarter stole the iconic flamethrower from Thumper which still can melt enemies easily but it doesn't have the same utility of knock-back that Thumper's does. Firestarter's car itself is also a lighter and more nimble version of Thumper's but not enough to make it worth the trade-off. He was given too little speed for the armor he lost. AUGER - My guess is that this character exists because they couldn't figure out how to program Mr. Slam's special into this game in such a short dev period. Auger is another really slow, really tanky vehicle. He doesn't flip as much as the other armored cars in the game, but he's not got much else going. His special is alright. It's basically a melee which is really hard to land when everyone else is outspeeding you, meaning he relies heavily on freezes. Using most of your energy for freezing isn't so bad due to the lack of a shield in this game but since rear attacks also use energy, it's a strain on that resource. The special itself also has a tendency to flip Auger, on top of it not doing much damage and having a precise hitbox. Unfortunately, Auger is just in the wrong game for the type of vehicle he is. FLOWER POWER - Weak special, shit armor, slow speed, what is there to like about this character? It's like if they took Roadkill and downgraded him in every way. Why does she exist? You have 0 reason to play this character. She's not even uniquely bad like Auger or the F tier character. She's just barely scraping above the bottom tier because she at least has a working special. F TIER HAMMERHEAD - I wish Hammerhead was good more often. But this is the worst showing of the character yet. The special has been changed to be activated manually. It's basically a precursor to what would become Darkside's special: a ram that dramatically boosts speed. Unfortunately, the damage is PITIFUL. More often than not, you'll flip yourself over while using this special. Not to mention the fact that the monster truck has a really average armor stat and a low speed. There's NOTHING going for this character unless you want a challenge. At least Flower Power has a super accurate special.

How does your version of the game look so smooth? I play on OG hardware and game looks sweet here

Theres a few characters that get screwed over special-wise because of the floaty physics that 989 took from Rally Cross. Hammerhead's ramming doesn't quite work as well in a game where ramming isn't quite as easy or effective, and Mr. Grimm kind of makes shooting that unguided projectile much harder

Absolutely love Twisted Metal 3. It's bar none my favorite but I get it's criticism. On an unrelated note, what are you running the game on it looks incredible!

I absolutely hate the physics in this game. But, love the tier list man great job!

Most of the characters specials here were carried on to TM4. Warthog’s Hornets were donated to the Joneses, Outlaws Taser to Meter Maid, Flower Power’s special is similar to Pizza Boy’s, Firestarter’s is Drag Queen’s, Spectre’s Ghost Missiles are the Twin Torchers.

We needed Outlaw and Spectre and Primeval in TM4. I can’t imagine what Primeval’s special in TM4 would be.

This game actually has my favorite Outlaw and Spectre designs in the series.

Hammerhead should have grasshoppers special

I started this game when I was like 4. And honestly Warthog was my first person I beat it as & I know I sucked. He deserves better than that 😂

Mr. Grimm's ending in this game is great, though. It's probably the only good ending.

I disagree with 1 thing. Not every character in this game has a bad ending. Mr.Grimms ending was great. He asked for Calypso's soul, but because of how he worded it he got his shoe "Sole" it was a clever twist that Calypso is known for. Same with Flower Power who didn't specify what type of plant she wanted to cover the world. I love the monkey paw twists. Other than those endings though yeah, the rest blow.

My thoughts of the vehicles in TM3: . Auger: Unique Concept but nothing else to say about it. The problem is it's sluggish handling and slow speed, the special doesn't feel that powerful in my opinion. I do like the idea of a car with a drill though. (5/10) .Axel: Its much weaker than it's TM2 counterpart has it lost it's hammerhead ramming ability. It's handling it's stiff and it's special doesn't feel all that powerful. Not as good as it's TM2 self but still ok. (6.5/10) . Club Kid: I have fun playing as this car, it's design it's pretty cool and it's special it's pretty effective if you use combo attacks. Decent speed and handling. Pretty fun to play as (7/10) .Firestarter: Its alright but it's design could have been better. It has good speed and ok handling, it's special may be a weaker flamethrower but it still does damage especially since it's not a direct straight flamethrower. What i don't like about Firestarter it's his vehicle design (7/10) .Flower Power: I like it's design and the idea of a hippie/ earth protector vehicle but the biggest problem is it's speed, for being a medium vehicle it sure acts like a truck in my opinion, the handling feels meh but it's special it's ok, what i like about it's special it's the sound it makes when fires and the word Save the World it's pretty neat. Even though this vehicle kinda works in Vigilante 8. (6/10) . Mr.Grimm: Like Axel, they made Grimm weaker and more sluggish than ever, it's special is not a almost one hit kill but it's still strong in it's own right. It doesn't have that same feel of a good speed and handling in my opinion, i do like it's special sound effect though. (6.5/10) . Hammerhead: One of my least favorites in TM3. It's much weaker and has not so powerful special( which is a ramming attack), although it's handling it's a bit more flexible. I prefer more his TM1 and 2 counterpart and it's special could have work for Darkside. (5/10) . Outlaw: Pretty ok to use but doesn't feel as great as it's TM2 counterpart, what i don't like it's during it's special( while it has a bit longer duration) you can't use missiles to do a combo attacks and it can be dull, it's handling it's alright but it feels slower, while it's TM1 and TM2 counterpart are good it's TM3 counterpart it's just ok. (6.5/10) .Roadkill: I found it's design a bit better than it's TM2 but not as dynamic as it's TM1 counterpart, what i like it's that it has spikes on it's wheels and the handling it's decent. It's special may not be as strong or great as the other counterparts but it's effectively handing. (7/10) . Spectre: Awesome car to play as but it feels like a different one because of it's design. While i like it's design of being of Dodge Viper, it doesn't feel like Spectre. I like still it's TM1 counterpart more of because of what it represents a ghost vehicle driven by a dead guy. It's a great handling and speed and it's special it's pretty neat especially being a green missile and the sound it makes when fired. (7.5/10) . Thumper: Another of my favorites next to Club Kid and Spectre. It's special it's unique and fits well with being a lowrider though it has short duration, it's design looks pretty neat but it looks a bit like Shadow. Overall it's an awesome vehicle to use and fun to use it's special to make enemies fall into trap. (8/10) .Warthog: Not as powerful as it's previous counterparts and it's design doesn't look as dynamic because of how bland it looks. It's special is still effective but it's handling is still sluggish and hard. Not as good as it's other versions. (6/10) .Sweet Tooth: Looks and plays alright but it's head design doesnt look that dynamic, it's special it's pretty awesome though as it fires it's head at the enemy while laughing. Although controlling the vehicle feels awkward. (7/10) .Minion: Not as powerful as it's TM2 counterpart but still powerful to blow enemies with it's special, it has decent handling and speed and it's design it's pretty good and like that they choose green for it's color design. (8.5/10) . Darkside: While i haven't play Darkside yet, judging by seeing it i can say that while it may not be as strong as it's TM1 counterpart i can easily said that its a bit better in terms of special, handling and speed. Too bad it's only playable through a GameShark codes and it's special could have been better it was a ramming attack. (7.5/10) .Primeval: One of the most badass vehicles in the game. It has a surprisingly great speed, decent armor and handling and it's special is quite powerful. It's design is something of a Mad Max movie and it's two big cannons are awesome. (9/10)

I forgot how trash this game was. Just watching all the clips you used, especially the Hammerhead and Auger clips. Just horrible

We used to throw Rico into the Tokyo and north pole pits. When ppl fell down there it was a battle to get out lol
