Releasing it on Peacock was such a big mistake. This show could have been HUGE on Netflix or Max. Now we all have to bite our nails wondering if enough people even have Peacock to warrant a season 2.

It’s not like PlayStation made the show and then sold it to peacock. Peacock put up the money to have it made. Without peacock this version of a Twisted Metal show doesn’t exist

John Doe himself isn't actually the surrogate for the viewer that people think he is. He is a part of Twisted Metal Black. His character was just retooled to fit the tone of the series. In the game he was a detective that went undercover in the tournament to catch Kalypso. When he wins the tournament he gets his memory back just moments before getting shot in the head. In the series he was a kid when he lost his memory and his car is important to him because it save his life.

Wasn't his backstory that he went undercover in a heavily implied neo n -zi group (gotta avoid youtubes filter) and he lost his memory during that and he entered the tournament to get his memory back only for Kalypso to kill him since Kalypso top of the FBI's hit list?

I am so happy this show has good lighting. I know that sounds simple but too many streaming shows aimed at teens and young adults have everything so dim to "emphasize the mood" when all it does is make things are to look at.

I’ve never played anything twisted metal, the only thing I really knew was that it was a vehicle “battle royal” and sweet tooth Yet I really had so much fun with this series and just hearing how a majority of the fans of the series loved it too makes me happy I would really love for a revival of this IP and I would love to check out the series now

I remember in July when I broke down and got a Peacock subscription, just so my friends and I could marathon this show for a weekend. Was both pleasantly surprised and had fun naming all the references. Hope it does get a season two, and a physical release soon so we can support it even when Peacock dies.

I agree with what you said about filming that final car scene at night but in terms of the crewing required to shoot at night I think the budget maybe didn't allow for it. You have to set up so many more lights and find creative ways to light a scene. It's almost easier to set it up for during the day especially when you'd have to move everything to film the cars.

The show was a little bit disappointing at first to me, but that was mostly wishful thinking that we'd get the over the top gritty edginess of Black and 2012. It actually does a decent job of emulating the tone of 1 or 2, thankfully without getting too entrenched in 3/4's bullshit.
