I was in high school when Stay Hungry came out. Going to a majority black school, me and a couple of friends really stood out with our levis jackets with the T.S. logo on the back and at least 50 different "Twisted Sister Pins" on the front. Destroyer and The Beast are my all time favorite songs.

Stay Hungry was actually my first CD I bought. I was 15 years in 1989. I saw the cover and it changed my life. Since then I am addicted to TS, addicted to screaming guitars. It opened the gate to Rock, Hardrock and all kind of Metal. Thanks guys. It’s 2023, I am 49 year and still a SMF!!

Because of this video, I got into Twisted Sister. I ordered myself a CD copy of Love Is For Suckers. I understand it's not a common choice for a first TS CD but hey its the rarest and I wanna get the rarest first

That was actually supposed to be Dee Snider's solo album. But because of contract obligations they called it a TS record

I am a huge SMF of Twisted Sister! I still listen to the Under the Blade album (both versions) at least once a week. Stay Hungry was the album that got them on my radar, but I like all of their stuff (Love is For Suckers is kind of meh). I feel they got shafted a bit when it comes to record sales for Come Out and Play. The album has at least 5 very good songs on it (I consider King of the Fools to be a misunderstood and underappreciated gem of a song). Sure, they were overexposed after Stay Hungry, but songs like "The Fire Still Burns" rocks, big time! It sucks because they worked so hard to finally get a record deal, and then it all went away seemingly overnight. I get the fact internal strife within the band was what drove them to succeed, and ultimately drove them apart.

Under the Blade, You Can't Stop Rock n Roll, and half the songs on Stay Hungry were anthems to my teenage rebellion.

Hey this is my first time checking out your channel ...i was on the lookout for a decent docu about Twisted Sister and im so glad i found your video! It was excellent and included everything that was important to know about such a unique band! I grew up watching TS on tv and listening to their songs and i always loved them and respected their style and really love Dee Snider. Thanks for giving them props and making this awesome film! Ill check out more of your work! 😊

I remember when TS used to play la'mores in Brooklyn I was like 10 or 11 but I remember shoot 'em' down was on heavy rotation with radio Station WPLJ, I saw them on the come out & play & live is for suckers

Was in the first grade when TS exploded on MTV. I went to a private school. One day I doodled the TS logo on my trapper keeper. My teacher who was a nun. Looked at my TS logo and said “That’s so pretty” 😂

The Stay hungry album is what got me in to hard rock and metal back in -84, I was 8 years old and the drum intro on We're not gonna take it made me become a drummer later on. I disagree with you about Come out and play, I actually find that close to greater than Stay hungry in many ways, but then I'm a fan of the more melodic and commercial rock from the late eighties.

What's funny about leader of the pack is every time I watch it the video I mean. When they're all peeing and zip up at the same time I don't care I'm a huge twisted sister fan and when I was a kid I just love that cuz it reminded me of me and my friends we used to do that all the time and then we go back and open a beer

This was great, gig fan of Twisted Sister, not to mess with your schedule but do you think you'll ever do motorhead retrospective or perhaps ranking the motorhead albums, or top ten motorhead songs. Loved the video, keep up the great work!

Well done video. This is Danny Shipman an I was die hard SMF back before you were born. I discovered them on "You Can't Stop Rock n' Roll" in '83 then got "Under The Blade". To me that is the true Twisted Sister. Straight up uncompromising Metal. I thought "Stay Hungry" was weak. I never liked that record and the commercialized success misrepresented them as a teeny bopper metal band. There is some good stuff on "Come Out & Play" but "Be Cruel To Your School" was blatant sell out/wuss out radio pop song contradicting everything they stood for. I viciously turned on them as a fan. Over time i've come to forgive them and appreciate them for the great songs they did.

No, he was mad. No matter what he did, he couldn't get the audience to respond the way he wanted. The biggest blooper of his career was when he shouted at a section of the audience to get on their fucking feet, really pissed off, just to find out later it was the handicap section. All of them sat in wheelchairs. 😏

they werent even popular for a year from spring of 1984 to winter of 85. the backlash was quick. their videos were a double edged sword it made them popular at first but the corny comedy in them made people not take them serious like other metal bands like maiden and priest. bad videos can kill your career just ask billy squier lol

I'm from Long Island. These turkeys were on the circuit here for 10 years. Rat Race Choir, Zebra, etc just torched them musically. Gotta give TS credit though.They sucked and never quit before hitting the big time.
