Really hoping it's trying to be a sequel rather than a remake...seems like it is... but still... As you said, original twister is a masterpiece film in every possible way.
@@timberanvil3788 pretty sure this is a sequel. the one girl that "doesn't chase" anymore I believe is supposed to be Jo's daughter from the first movie grown up.
This isn’t a remake… if you’d actually do some research like I did. Twisters Is A Standalone Sequel To The 1996 Original Despite Universal Pictures' previous plan, Twisters is not a remake of Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton's Twister. Feb 12, 2024
@@Vekuruswell it’s not about how realistic they look as no matter what people will complain about anything 😑take the lion king people were complaining how their is no emoshien with the lions people will ALWAYS find something to wine to 😑to me this looks like a bad ass movie 😎that’s what Hollywood is all about it’s not meant to be realistic 😑it’s about imagination 🙂
That's the only thing familiar. And they shouldn't have done it! There have been other movies about this. Just make it your own, and leave the classics, alone.
@@procta2343 The machine says Dorthy V. There were 4 Dorthys in the original. This is an in universe sequel. There may be a surprise cameo in the movie, we don''t know.
@@NexRays its been years since i saw the twister, so i wouldn't really remember about the Dorthy project. But from clips of this, it looks very much similar to the twister.
It’s super interesting how in some of the scenes there’s debris weighing hundreds of pounds more than the people that’s being hurled around the air yet the people are just standing there like the wind doesn’t phase them
This is actually possible. Where I live we've had a few tornadoes. One took the 2nd floor of my house at 3:00 am while my husband and I and 2 of our little boys were inside. Thank God we were all downstairs when it hit. About 6 years prior an F 3 came across the golf course next door and destroyed several homes across the street. I saw an end table amongst the rubble with a teacup and a telephone sitting on it undisturbed. Heavy things get picked up first. Light weight things are often left behind.
This was my exact thought! I see a trolley being hurled at one of the main characters that must weigh multiple tons and he's standing there like nothing is happening and his shirt sleeves aren't even blowing in the wind LOL
You mean remake 2.... this here not a follow up... this here a remake with a shitty new cast made for younger audience that is braindead anyway given they tend to LIKE inclusion and younger casts... sorry casting OLDER MORE EXPERIENCED PEOPLE in the OG was what was needed! Why? BECAUSE THEY ARE EXPERTS! THEY WHERE THE ONES ABLE TO PULL THIS STUNT IF AT ALL! This time? We got a frelling 20 year old, without clue and experienced WITHOUT the extreme to guid and protect her etc.
@@lonewolffisherman7092 yea I know 😑what physics are pal 😑are you aware that movies like interstellar are also fake ?🧐black holes may or don’t exist 😑if you like movies like startreck and interstellar or marvel or dc etc don’t preach to me about ( physics ) pal 😑you talk big but do you think big ?🧐as you talk about physics s I’m guessing you don’t like anime or or you don’t like marvel or dc?🙃or Disney ? Etc ? just admit it you like FICTION movies 😎as all your doing is making your self look bad 😑as I know you have 1 dc movie or one marvel video or 1 anime video you like so all your doing is eating your own worlds 😑 imagination leads to creation keep that in mind 😑
Like many other films that were great, "Twister" did not need a remake. Talk about trying to re-milk movies that should be left untouched. Update: Okay, “the joke is on me.” It’s not a remake, but a sequel. Now that will keep me awake for the rest of my life. I immediately called it a remake when I saw footage of Dorothy being used all over again, (which would now be low tech). So sue me. But aside from that, even if it’s officially named a sequel, what I saw on the trailer is basically a rehash of the original film. And BTW, I haven’t seen the movie and I already can’t stand the smug, know-it-all, I’m a pretty boy attitude of the character played by Glen Powell. Ugh. This movie will have 2020s special effects. But I’m willing to bet it will be more of a remake than anything else, even if supposedly it’s dubbed a “sequel.” I really hope I’m wrong.
This feels disrespectful. I got it's supposed to be a sequel and not a remake. But this trailer showed remade scenes from the original and didn't feel like more of a continuation. Having Dorothy was enough to shut it down for me.
I had to watch the trailer to see the scenes filmed in the downtown area of my hometown. The trolley that gets tossed, and the “Reno” water tower that collapses are 2 scenes in my hometown of El Reno, west of OKC.
I thought that might've been the town. I wonder how the people felt about Twisters being loosely based about their tragedy, knowing that wounds are not fully healed?
That we know of. The girl mentions in the trailer that she got Dorothy wrong. It is the original design. Wonder where she got that considering that it was bills original design and that there were none left at the end of the original. I have a feeling that she is indeed related.
On one hand, I get the reference, on the other, it feels almost bittersweet, and I have a bad feeling the film will make it into a "Oo look scary tornado that's killed chasers oo" rather than showing the actual horror of that event. I get it's a movie and they don't wanna kill the mood but, that's one tornado that seemingly had a genuine bloodlust for anyone pointing a camera at it (its unprecedented expansion to nearly 4x its size in minutes, it's seemingly random accelerating/decelerating ground speed, it's very odd/unique path compared to most), and it's kinda sad if they downplay it and the deaths it caused for the sake of making money from the few who'd know enough to get the reference
Yeah, okay. Winds moving extremely heavy objects mere yards from humans that are still able to stand. Riiight. They could have at least *tried* to make it believable.
@@bethanymallory8191 absolutely! On a side note, I watched the short on your channel. If that is you, I would like to say congratulations to you both. I wish you a lifetime of happiness and joy together!
You really think we know everything about tornados? We still dont know everything about em. This and the one from 96’ tried to get shit right but still had flaws.
@@Lonerandwhisperofthezone we know enough about them to know that nobody is going to stand that close to one as it tosses extremely heavy objects around. So they surely won't run from it. But please, by all means, if you get the chance, you are welcome to try.
For those saying if this is a remake or sequel, I think it's technically a sequel, the pod in the trailer said Dorothy V (5) Orginal had Dorthy 1 to 4 However, yes, looks like they are going to do the same things as the first movie Regardless, I personally am looking forward to the movie!
Nope. They bluntly show the young main heroine launching dorothy here, its a remake... its not a sequel... also COINCIDENTALY she has the SAME NAME as the basicaly 30 YEAR OLDER HEROINE FROM THE OG! Yea they changed some stuff, but still... also they wont need any more. If this REALY would have ben a sequel then they would KNOW about how tornado's work by then, could actualy tell when and how powerfull etc. JUST LIKE WE WHERE ABLE TO PULL AFTER THE 90'S FFS! The twister plot ONLY works in that not advanced timeline! They remade it for a younger audience with more inclusion and shit. Whyever they think we would need this is beyond me...
I'm pretty sure the writers of "INTO THE STORM" will love to see this trailer, considering there are several scenes that are almost identical to that film, including the firenado and the anchored truck to the ground and the unprofessional tornado chasers.
tbf its based off of real chasers, most chasers have anchored trucks (the TIV and TIV 2) and some don't go to school for it, just do it as a hobby. I suppose you could call that unprofessional
I think the movie is based on the El Reno Oklahoma tornado. The biggest tornado ever to be recorded. Its diameter measured about 2.5 miles wide! And was definitely a EF5.
If ya talking 2013 El Reno monster Tornado, the size you say is correct but it wasnt EF-5 it was EF-3 cos the damage wasnt EF-5 scale,"only" EF-3..Its the widest Tornado ever to record but not the strongest! But ill might be wrong ✌
the OG movies cast at least looked the part to be experts.. this here? Shitty bunch of braindead children CLAIMING they have an idea and understanding wich they CANT HAVE!
I only have one critique. If you're at any sporting even or anything, everyone has a smart phone. You're telling me that nobody got a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning on their phones? For them to get the siren for a tornado when it was like 1/4 of a mile away, then that's not realistic. That even would have had notice long before that tornado even gotten to them.
Снять новый фильм с классным сюжетом и своей атмосферой - нет Переснять кадр за кадром, но увеличить масштаб происходящего - ДА Но я все равно буду ждать.... фильмов про торнадо так мало
They hate each other at first then they fall in love, she sees there's a place for instinct and the "old wild ways" and he sees that there is a place for brains and scientific rigor. Oh, and they almost die because a big ole F5 or two chases them. There, I saved you the time.
I have lived in Oklahoma most of my life and I am 23 seconds into this and I already have a problem. Tornadoes do not sneak up on you. We have some of the best meteorologists in the country working in this state and we are informed way in advance. This isn't an earthquake, it's a moving weather emergency that our weather people train just for shit like this. We do not go to or even have rodeos during tornado warnings, nor do we go to the drive-in. (first movie) I'll watch the rest, but I just had to say. Nope, give me Bill Paxton or go home.
A remake from 1996? Feels nostalgic tho The original was the first who introduced me with F5 and it still lingers in my mind. It blows my childhood ass
It is supposed to be pretty good screen writing... the reason people are having a big problem is that it is showing twisters, just like the first movie. Well, you can't have a movie about twisters without having..., Umm..... Twisters!
I hate how in these Tornado movies they can never get the actual logic of how a tornado works correctly. A tornado doesn't just appear you KNOW it's there. and how everything that is super heavy is blown away and the people are all perfectly fine. Being someone who loves tornados these movies really hurt to watch.
Imagine being in a movie theatre in real life and you see a tornado which that be terrified to see which everyone was probably having good time till the tornado came which probably is an recreation of outdoor theatre scene
And we all know what happens in this movie. The bad guys will lose their leader because he can't tell what storms are thinking, and he likes to take credit for other people's hard work.
Looks like a crossover between the first twister movie and into the storm. I just miss when movies had a great storyline to it. Not all these over-dramatic action scenes. That being said, I'm still giving it the benefit of the doubt, being that the first twister is incredible. Well balanced with story and action. And, Glen Powell is a great actor. I loved Top Gun Maverick, so I see no reason he'll make the movie as good as he can. Giving it a shot. If it's a miss. I blame it because I'm a Stormtrooper.
cant wait to see this its going to be sweet idc if its like the last one because it was great too!!!!! all story lines are pretty similar with every movie just different characters
