I just adore you! This is so helpful. I've seen youtubers who claim if you have to retwist every night, you're doing something "wrong." But yet I know from experience that in order for my hair to be moisturized and manageable, I need to retwist often, like every other night. And while yeah, in a perfect world that wouldn't be necessary, the reality is, for some people's hair 1) it is, and 2) it doesn't take long! Fifteen minutes, or even 30 if it comes to it, isn't very long to spend every night on keeping your hair healthy. Because the reality is if you don't do that, then you will eventually spend that same amount of time - or more! - during wash day when you're doing much more detangling, etc... Thank you for this video!
BlakIzBeautyful Thank you for responding! Just trying to do my part, ie, sharing my experience. I think everyone should take the time to get to know their own hair - and if you discover things that differ from others' experiences, it doesn't mean you're wrong! You're just finding what works specifically for you.
Christina Lynn I agree. I tried the pineapple method and my style never lasts the next day. I have to retwist as well. to hell with those who don't. lol
I don't mind retwisting at night. You're right. It helps retain moisture and helps keep you style for longer between washes (7-10 days). I just retwist in bigger sections to save time. It's worth it for me. My hair is waist length and the thought of doing my hair 2-3 times a week is horrifying to me. LOL!
my hair is dry & matted right now with a few tight curls from a previous style a week ago lol didnt think i could still twist my hair for bed since i couldnt get a comb through it but lo and behold im getting them done as you talk! thanks girl! subbed!
This is the best night routine 4C hair video I've seen. I have just began doing a routine and had so many questions that were answered from your video. I really must stretch my hair and train it every night or it refuses to do what I want. Plus my hair is about the same length as yours. Thank you so much, you have no idea how much your video helped me. Thank You!!!♥️♥️♥️😊
Hi Jenell. I find that retwisting at night is the best for my hair unless the next day is wash day. Sometimes I do have to lightly spritz my hair with water or a curl refresher first just on the ends and then twist just to kinda reactivate the product already in my hair.
Love this vid and I agree with all your tips. I don't always retwist but when I do, I grab and go just like this. It's as if the hair memorizes how you already had your hair separated and the take down is so easy like this.
Thank you thank you. I'm so glad this video came across my channel. It's just what I needed. I was having to moisturize my hair every 2 days. Now since I started twisting every night...💕💕. I can go a week...and that's perfect for me...being I wash on the 7th day. Thank you, thank you. Wow I'm so amazed! FINALLY! I lock in all that moisture on wash day and now it can STAY LOCKED IN!! YAY! I'M THROWING MY HANDS UP IN THE AIR!
I had to come back to this video to THANK YOU! I originally watched this when you first posted and I have since been re-twisting dry!!! This was the missing link. 🤗 Thanks again
Wow I really love the tone on your voice on this video..Maybe it because you are tired, or it's quite time but it really helps to listen to the entire video instead of muting and just watch....You have a beautiful voice , nevertheless , when it's a good amount of talking this tone really works for me...Thank you for continuing to inform us Jenelle..Happy Holidays
I Love All Of Your Videos, And How You Always Go Above And Beyond To Share Your Videos With Us. (You Were Tired But Still Found Enough Energy To Do This Video). Thank You :)
GIRL, you hair type is mine and everything you said is so true! Especially when I don't twist it at night...i can only go one day without twisting. Do you experience shedding when you are retwisting your hair throughout the week - I always have small curls (not full strands of hair) coming out.
The last couple of months the routine I've been doing for my daughter (She's Elle's age but her hair is closer to your length) has been putting it in flat twists for half the week and then doing a twist out for the rest of the week. Her curl definition has been amazing with this method but it has been dry once I do the twist out. I haven't been retwisting at night so I think you've just solved my problem. Thanks!
Ahhh!!!! Thank you for showing me this, I literally just got finished trying to flat twist my hair, I gave up and now I’m just going to do regular twist’s, haha 😂 and this is going on two hour’s already 😂thank’s for showing me how you twist for at night 😊🎉
Always happy when my techniques matches one of you lovely ladies. I do the same things except I flat twist the front and sides for more definition 😊. I also don't add product unless my hair is desperate which amounts to every 2-3 days. Awesome video!
I will be trying this method and the products you mention. I keep my hair twisted, but I have always wanted to know how to do the bang part, and here it is....yazzz! I do re twist my hair at night without a comb. I have Kinky, thick, tight coils, and it's so truth what you said if I don't re twist my hair I would loose curly definition, and will have a hot dry mess in the am. tfs
My hair feels some type of way if I don't give it the attention it craves. plus I love the fresh curl definition which is why i dont mind twisting at night. I stopped bcos i wa afraid of too much manipulation ,otherwise i would twist it every night what i have discovered is that the pineapple makes my hair dry and flat. i will go back to retwisting every night. i dont mind doingit and my hair loves me for doing it. You restored my faith
Great video! Thank you. I do realize that my hair thrives when I twist it every night. Our textures are similar. I twist my hair while catching up on tv shows, RU-vid videos, reading or just winding down. Your hair is gorgeous! Thanks again!
OMG THANK YOU. I was wondering if retwisting at night was crazy behavior. I simply have to, my curls would be a hot mess if I didn’t. Thanks for letting me see it’s okay💯💯❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I'm trying this tonight and if this works out. I will name my next child after you. The video made sense and the only thing I wish it had was what to do in the morning. Searching for that part in the morning
Very helpful!! Thank you!! Your twists always look so juicy!!! The problem I have with re-twisting my hair is that the ends don't seal well on dry hair and the twists unravel.....So frustrating!! I end up having to mist my hair to dampen it and sometimes add product to seal. It makes re-twisting quite a long process and makes it feel like it takes almost as much time as the original twist-out. I'll definitely try your tips and technique! Thanks again!!
love this video,I just followed you as you were talking and we finished same time. Glad I could count on your videos anytime I'm confused and in a hurry. Thanks for all you do
Thank you i just did my big chop, in November I needed this teaching, I am going buy the hair products ask well. Keep up the good work. what you do is awesome.
Thank you sooooo much Jenell!!! I appreciate the video. It is a huge help. I've been wearing wigs for the last 2 months and I think it's time to wear my hair out for a week or two. Thanks again!!!!
Excellent video, I did learn a few tips from you, and I appreciate it. I have 4C, 4D, or even as I joke 4Z hair type. Do you have any videos of how you style your hair? I can put my hair in a puff, which is fine, but would love some other hair styles to try. My hair isn't quite as long as yours is, but the length is to my neck. Thank you again, and Merry Christmas to you!
Hey. I recently just subscribed to your channel. And I love your videos I tried most of your videos and they work great with my hair. But I wanted to know what's your texture of hair? 4c?
synevette your hair didn't stop growing, you're probably not retaining length. Get trims when necessary, keep a clean scalp, keep it moisturized and deep condition. Get a routine down that's tailored to your hair needs. Protective styles may be helpful too.
What type would you say your hair is??? My hair is exactly like this( typing with twist in head now) but I literally don't know what it is 😭 but I love it so much tho
Great video I would love to have seen the morning after fluff! Where can I find the smoothie, still haven't seen it here in VA? It definitely has your hair nicely moisturizer!
When I do medium size twists, the ends look the same way your first twist looks, a bit puffy at the end. What is the cause of this? Is it because both pieces aren't even in thickness or length?
